Data inside a widget? Like search results in a table or what? Can you provide a use case?

Sorry again about the confusion but I am actually trying to "Only show classes that are visible in the current map extent". Ok, I think we're on the same page. If you add a REST service in ArcMap, you will notice in the Layout View, In the Legend properties, for the layers that are within the REST service, the box is grayed out for "Only show classes...". Therefore, the only way you can do it through a web API is to have access to the actual data being served out by the REST service. Then, you will want to replace the REST service with similarly symbolized data using data accessible to your ArcGIS Server Instance. This will then do what you want. The issue is that you must have the actual data, instead of just the REST service.

Try adding the REST service to ArcMap to your template .mxd and checking it manually.

Oh, I see what you mean now. How many input text parameters do you need? In the ExportWebMapForm.mxml, you can just add as many mx form items as you need with the title, copyright, author, etc. Regarding the legend, just have one layer in your template and leave it turned off, and then add the legend and check the dynamic checkbox.

Both of those things you mentioned aren't really flex-related. Those things are determined by your .mxd's that are used by the Export Web Map geoprocessing task on your ArcGIS Server 10.1 instance.

But you can already do both of those things in Version 3.0?

Pretty sure that was in the post-install, which means probably baked into a config text file somewhere now.

I actually had this exact problem, even missing the i_table.png as well. No idea how, but it fixed itself after many clean and builds over a few days. Sorry I couldn't help more, but try a clean, and restart your machine, and build again.

We would need a lot more details to help you out. What is "In running my program", what is my program? A Flex Viewer? If so, what version? What version ArcGIS for Server? "Unable to perform query. Please check your parameters." Well I'd say your problem is your input parameters. Opened the map service? What does this even mean? First thing I'd do is check your ArcGIS Server logs.

While the previous answer is a very good answer and explanation in general, in order to know if 15 min. is normal we'll need some more information. 15 minutes on a non-fully customized Sample Flex Viewer 3.0 build? You posted "I'm using Flash Builder 2.6". Did you mean 4.6? How many widgets/modules do you have set to compile? Can you post your hardware specs?

Is there a way to modify the number of decimal points for the "show measurements" option when a point is clicked? Sure, just use a NumberFormatter like this: <mx:NumberFormatter id="numFormatterMeasure"
precision="2"
useThousandsSeparator="false"/>
And find out what the variable being populated by the measurement is, such as a function like this: private function createLengthsLabel(length:Number, lengthAbbrev:String):String
{
return lengthLabel + " " + numFormatterMeasure.format(length) + " " + lengthAbbrev;
}
