The problem is fixed - we found that the GeoPortal administrators group gpt_administrators has to be at the same level in the LDAP tree as the gptadmin user. At least that's what fixed it for us.

I've searched, but can't find this. We have Geoportal 1.2.2 installed on WebLogic 12c on a RHEL 6.3 server. The GeoPortal is failing to give the gptadmin user admin rights and I want to check the LDAP configuration - it connects to a pr-existing LDAP server, however I'm not sure where the gpt.xml file (mentioned in the documentation) is located. Does anyone know where I can find it? Thanks, Brian

It seems this was related to the cluster definition - I deleted then re-created the cluster, and the problem resolved itself.

Hello, We have two ArcGIS 10.1 servers running on RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.3 that are clustered - when I access a service (from the arcgis/rest/... web page) on one server it works fine, but on the other one I get a message Error: Error handling service request: Could not find a service with JNDI name 'service' in the configured clusters. Service may be stopped or ArcGIS Server may not be running. Code: 500 I've restarted ArcGIS on that server - no luck. This is the server that the service was published on. In the ArcGIS Manager it shows as Started. This is happening to a lot of services! Any ideas?

More information - there are three messages I see, and they repeat every minute. First there are 2 SEVEREs - "Failed to stop the server machine 'HOSTNAME'. /arcgis/server/framework/runtime/ejbs/USERNAME/MapService.Recycling (Is a directory)" and "Failed to synchronize machine 'HOSTNAME' with the site. /arcgis/server/framework/runtime/ejbs/USERNAME/MapService.Recycling (Is a directory)". Then there is a WARNING - "An error was encountered while synchronizing with the config store. Failed to synchronize machine 'HOSTNAME' with the site. /arcgis/server/framework/runtime/ejbs/USERNAME/MapService.Recycling (Is a directory)" I tried resetting both machines in the ArcGIS cluster - no help.

We have a setup of two ArcGIS 10.1 servers connected to a WebLogic server acting as the cluster manager. When I restart the ArcGIS servers, developers are unable to start their published apps. Looking in the logs, I see a message "Failed to synchronize machine 'HOSTNAME' with the site. /arcgis/server/framework/ejbs/USERNAME/MapName.Recycling (is a directory)" where both HOSTNAME and USERNAME are the values for here. When we saw this we tried deleting the service - but it moved on to another one. It seems like they are going to ALL give the same message, one at a time. Has anyone seen this - is there a way to clear it without having to rebuild the servers? Thanks, Brian
