An issue we've faced ever since we had to make the switch to using iPads over Windows based tablets is the inability to use the capabilities of an MDM system to deploy apps, push updates, and provide assistance to the field worker. Previously, we used an MDM that enables to remote to their device from the office, view their screen, and pull log files or change settings, etc. Sometimes the solution to their issue was simple, but when you're talking over the phone, cannot see what they are doing or check settings, etc., it's becomes difficult to identify the issue. It definitely helped with assisting staff that may be making errors in their workflow, so it was easy to go through the steps when you have full access to their device. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't make that easy and in some cases impossible. I know there are companies that say they offer full MDM iPadOS capabilities, but I have yet to find one that has can do those things directly out-of-the-box. Usually, if an MDM says they have the capability, it involves a custom SDK, which can become a nightmare to maintain. It's just not the same. Overall, we spend much more time assisting field staff which often involves us having to go out into the field or having field staff come into the office in order figure out the problem and resolve it. This is a major disadvantage from my viewpoint considering the amount of extra time and effort spent on behalf both office and field staff.

Melita, Thank you for providing the information regarding the 10.3.1 WGS84 realizations and transformations between NAD_1983_2011. In some additional testing conducted using data points post-processed through Pathfinder Office (ver 5.20) using local CORS stations and exporting the data in both PCS Virginia_StatePlane_North_NAD_1983_2011_FT and in WGS 1984, it became apparent that the correct transformation in this case would be the "WGS_1984_(ITRF08)_To_NAD_1983_2011". The "WGS_1984_(ITRF00)_To_NAD_1983_2011" introduced a slight shift of 1/4 inch (not that significant for sub-meter data collection). I assume this means that Esri does differentiate between ITRF00 and ITRF08, correct? If so, does Esri also differentiate between ITRF08 and WGS 1984? Since we use Collector app with SBAS corrections for our new mobile applications, I want to make sure that I can use the transformation between ITRF 2008 and WGS 1984 at 10.3.1. Thanks again! I really appreciate your help. Henry

I realize there are already many questions and answers out there related to this issue. However, I continue having a difficult time pinpointing exactly which transformations I should use. Essentially, I have GPS data that was post processed against the local CORS stations in Pathfinder Office using the reference position from base provider option, which depending on the date and station would be ITRF00 or ITRF08 and exported as NAD83 CORS96 and in later years as NAD83 (2011). Now, I have a Collector app that is using SBAS corrections, so the data is in ITRF 2008 (essentially equal to WGS84 within 10cm/4"), if I'm not mistaken. This means that I have data in 3 different datums or realizations in regards to the NAD83 GPS points. I'm using ArcGIS Desktop 10.3.1, and by looking at the transformations list published with each release of desktop, it appears that the transformations between NAD_1983_HARN, NAD_1983_CORS96, and NAD_1986 (original/1986) are equivalent or simply "bookkeeping". If this is the case, then there's really no method or transformation in the Project geoprocessing tool that would enable me to reproject my NAD_1983_CORS96 GPS data into NAD_1983_2011, correct? As far as Collector goes, if the data is coming in as ITRF 2008 based on the SBAS correction source, if I overlay it with NAD_1983_CORS96 or NAD_1983_HARN, etc., what's the best transformation to use? Or does it really not make a difference if they're all treated as equal as far as ArcGIS is concerned? Finally, maybe I just haven't come across the details on this yet, but when ESRI references GCS_WGS_1984, which WGS 1984 are they referring to? Is the reference to G1762, which is the latest realization, or is this in reference to G1674 or G1150? I realize that these are all based on ITRF and should all be within 10cm/4", but I'd like to #1 understand what ESRI is referring to and #2 be able to select the most accurate transformation settings for the data. Thank you in advance, Henry M.

We are experiencing the similar issues with the Data Reviewer SQL and Table checks taking a very long time to complete. We are running the checks on a versioned 10.3.1 SDE (Oracle 11g) database and are selecting to run the checks only on changed features between the child and parent versions. One feature class has about 80K point features, but the others are more like 12K and 30K. I've tried to run the checks individually and in batch mode, but even individually it seems each one is taking longer than I would expect (probably about 30 to 40 minutes each). Is this normal, or is there something wrong in either my Data Reviewer check configuration or the actual database? We run the typical Compress, Analyze, and rebuild statistics on a regular basis, but that doesn't seem to improve performance as far as how quickly the Data Reviewer checks run. One notable thing to mention is that the actual Version Differences check under the main Data Reviewer menu usually runs rather quickly, so I'm at a loss as to why a the Table to Table check run on only changes within the database would take 20x longer to complete. Any guidance or suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance, Henry M.

I agree with Kevin. Our users want or really need the ability to save bookmarks that will be saved with their profile when they login with their AD credentials. Maybe that requires additional customization after installing the widget, but since I have limited programming skills, I would have no idea where to begin. As someone mentioned in a previous comment, I too have no idea how a user's bookmarks are stored, but based on user feedback, the functionality is very much desired. Thanks, Henry M.

Hello, I know this is probably not easy and requires some in depth customization of the bookmark widget, but is there any way so as to make the widget recall the user's spatial location along with which layers the user turned off/on? It obviously requires the app to know who's logged in and store the parameters with the user, etc., but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone out there has done such things. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Henry
