I want to create building footprints in City Engine programmatically and specify the density of lots in a specific region and assign a height attribute for the buildings to each lot? I need to achieve all this using CGA rules and python. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm new to CityEngine.

How do i select only the lots from the imported openstreetmap and assign a rule file to that and how to i select only the street network(roads that is) and assign another rule file to that using only python scripting? Im new to scipting, so if someone could do a small writeup of this code, it would be useful. Thank you!

Im having problems importing my .osm file into cityengine. It throws the error "import failed, data is located too far away". My .osm file of Rome, NY is in the spacial reference "+proj=longlat +datum=WGS84 +no_defs" and my height map is in WGS84 UTM 18N (I believe Rome, NY is in the UTM zone 18N.) Even though both the height map and the osm file are in WGS84, i still obtain the "import failed" error. I have attached the .osm file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx!
