We are also seeing this. Seems to have stared when we started using shared instances. Data from SDE, read only, no extra capabilities turned on. Just standard MapServer services.

The Export Site succeeded and the DR Tool also completed. Don't know if a Restore from that DR backup would work but will assume that it would, for now.

We are seeing this error in our DR Tool backup log. 2019-06-11 20:30:35 ERROR [pool-2-thread-1] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.component.Portal - {"error":{"code":500,"details":null,"message":"Failed to export site. Export of the Portal repository failed. D:\\arcgisportal\\content\\items\\0b2ddccc355247f09bdac514024e9244"}} The Portal \Content\items folder is indeed missing this folder. I manually created a folder with the referenced GUID and the Site Export succeeds. Will we have a problem if we ever try to restore from this site export? Does it make sense that a single missing item folder would break the export?

I used these tools also. Though some webmaps didn't get updated. However I think it was probably user error! I recommend as much testing as possible. There may be other tools but I didn't find any really good examples of exactly what I wanted to do (essentially a mass search and replace of an old web adaptor name to a new web adaptor name for all content that could contain those strings). If you have qa portal running on VMs that would be helpful since you could create a snapshot prior to testing and restore if something doesn't work as planned.

No, we didn't find a way to update the URL for hosted services. We deleted those and will recreated as needed. We also deleted all Insights content since those too are in the hosted folder. The change to the secruity-config.json was necessary because it still retained a reference to the prior web adapter URL. This wasn't changed by using the Update Server REST Endpoint.

We actually went through this process and found that it can be done but I'm not sure I would recommend it. Our Portal is in a "lite-production" phase so there isn't a lot of content but we had enough that I wanted to try this route. We used scripts to update non-hosted service URLs and web map layer URLs, but for some reason we missed some content and I ended up using ago-assistant to fix those manually. We also had a few hosted feature services that will need to be recreated and related/dependent content updated. The one unexpected issue was related to Insights. Insights stores all its pages and workbooks in Hosted WorkSpaces. Fortunately, all of our Insights work has been test related so it was acceptable to let those go. I also found that I couldn't delete any orphaned Insights WorkSpaces in the Federated Server's Home > services > Hosted Admin page (I could do this for Hosted Feature Services). I received a: 'Failed to create data source ''/enterpriseDatabases/AGSDataStore_ds_w7oh234m''' message and the WorkSpace remains listed in the Hosted Folder. This may be related to the fact that we also reinstalled DataStore (long story). However we were able to delete the broken Feature Services that had pointed to the prior instance of DataStore. For now I'll just ignore them. It was also necessary to update the serverURL in <configstore>\security\security-config.json. That file retained the prior web adapter URL. Without this change Insights wouldn't work properly. I'm hoping this change wont have repercussions.

I agree. We are just getting started with Portal and I can already see that this will be a problem that will take too much time to manage.

For what its worth I think some form of these bugs still exist in 10.5.1. In our case services appeared to be shared to Everyone but in reality were not. We use IWA which may play a role, not sure. Next time it surfaces I'll try some of these suggestions. Eric

Thanks! This worked for me too with a fresh setup of 10.5.1, Portal, Federated Server and Data Store Server all in separate boxes. Odd thing was the out of the box print service worked with map services on the federated server, but not Hosted feature services from the federated server/data store server. All of the services were shared to Everyone. Eric

I'm testing the Transportation 511 solution and now that it is configured and working have a couple of questions. It seems that the features shown in the WAB Application don't update on the interval that I specified in WAB. I have verified that the data is being uploaded to AGO on a 5 minute interval, and I can view the refreshed Feature Collection data by reloading the entire app. When I point the WAB app to a WebMap that uses the Feature Service version, the App view refreshes on the specified interval. Is this a bug with respect to using Feature Collections? I also found that the Legend Widget is blank when using a Feature Collection to power the WebMap. However the Legend works when I use a Feature Service. Any suggestions?
