Thanks Randy, Your code works great. I have one calculated value that doesn't exist in source data, how do I update that field in target using this construct.

Hi, I am looking for some help on proper syntax in ArcGIS Pro/ Python 3. I am trying to read data from a feature class and write to another feature class. The attribute fields are different so I am reading from source and assigning it to output. I get this error at insertCursor.insertRow(newRow). Appreciate any input. Thanks def LoadData(fSource, fTarget):

After doing some research on this tiopic, I found that Jenkins has some support for python, I am curious if anyone has experience working with Jenkins in the context of Enteprise ArcGIS.

Hello There, I am exploring possibility of implementing Devops/Automation workflows within our enterprise GIS and wanted to gather from experience of community members on how to get started. I am particularly interested to know what tools/technologies were used to implement DevOps. These are some of the tasks that I use python scripting which gets run by a task scheduler: Promotion of ArcMap services from dev/test/prod environment Reconcile/post operation for data edits I am curious to know what tools/technologies other users are using to implement automation. Appreciate any feedback. JS

Hi There, In our enterprise, we use few floating licenses for various ArcGIS license levels (advanced, Standard, Basic as well as extensions). I am trying to figure out a way to quantify ArcMap usage pattern for our users, want to know how many time a user has accessed what license level and for how long. I noticed that lmgrd9.log has details for access of and it seems like it gets refreshed at a certain interval, doesn’t show full history of access. I am curious if someone in the community has any suggestions. Thanks JS

Hi There, We have a geodatabase (ver 10.4.1) hosted on SQL Server 2012. There is a table that has field (Length) that requires field type change from long to double. This field has values. Since the field names are the same and only type changes, here is my workflow: Create a field called LengthTemp Using Edit session, Calculate value from Length to LengthTemp Remove Length field Add Length as double field type Calculate value from LengthTemp to Length field Remove Length field Here is the ESRI recommended approach. First reconcile and post all the versions Unregister feature class Change schema Register feature class as versioned The issues that we have large number of editors and getting all the users to reconcile and post before making this change will result in delaying this update. I am curious how other community members are making these types of changes. Appreciate any feedback.

Hi There, I am having an issue with Server Object Extension in Visual Studio 2013 where .soe file is not being generated...it only generates soe dll file. Our development environment is 10.3.1. I found another post with this suggestion but that doesn't seem to be helping. I was wondering if someone has any suggestions. Thanks Jay 10.2 and VS 2012 - Wont Create SOE file I found that there is a similar issue reported in our system as [#NIM093779 Problems with .NET SDK SOE templates at 10.2 in Visual Studio 2012 prevent the .soe file from being generated. ] The cause of this bug and the issue you are having are the same. The workaround would be : Edit the project file *.csproj: Near the bottom of the XML you will see an Import element. For both Project and Condition, update the path from Server.targets to Server.11.targets.

Hi There, I am looking for some feedback on what workloads are required for ESRI development (desktop extensions, server object extension). It seems like Visual Studio 2017 has introduced concept of workloads and licensing is based on that. Here is a link that describes this in detail: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/install/workload-component-id-vs-professional Appreciate your feedback. Jay
