Hello we are looking to replace our current AVL system (GeoDigital) with something ESRI based.. Do any of you use anything like that.. We are sending gps streams to a server and the our OMS (Milsoft) is pulling that data into their database to display our trucks on the outage map.. I was hoping to do our own AVL system within ESRI.. Of course we would want to be able to pull breadcrumb trails from trucks on certain dates and get info about speed and location.

Not sure how to explain this.. I have a layer called "Subs" (black) it is our Substation locations. I have pop ups to display the name and a link to a webpage that has a live camera into the Station. This works great! I have another layer (different service) called Outages (yellow tag) it displays outages that are called in... The problem is the pop-ups will not display for "outages" unless i click on a "sub" first... Then the popup for "outage" will only display on the last "Sub" i have picked... i can click on a any sub on the screen then click on the outage and the pop up will be at the last sub that was picked.. Here is the config file

You might want to use description tag as follows:

Link to Site Records

Hi Robert, A couple of things, first I wanted to let you know I got some auto complete functionality to work with the widget. I am still developing but so far it is looking pretty good. Second, I noticed something with the widget that may be tedious to some. I have two relates setup on a layer that the users search on. When the results window loads, the users have to click on the result list for the relate icon to load (I guess the on click fetches the relates?). This is fine and all, but when the Search Results are listed in the fixed data grid, and the user clicks the result they want, but the relates cannot be fetched. So if you are wanting to view the related records, you are forced to find them in the initial results window, click on them, choose your relate, and then the related feature. So my question is can the relates icon be added to a fixed field in the datagrid? That way when the user clicks a result in the datagrid, the relates icon loads. Thanks in advance! -Chris Chris, If and when you get the auto complete working let us know. Thanks Jesse

Jesse- I would review the "Getting Started" section of the Flex Viewer Concepts page: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html#/Getting_started/01m300000021000000/ . My guess is that your IIS is not set up and/or you are placing the folders in the wrong place. Also, keep in mind that the "/FlexViewers/" folder is just a sample location. You should be replacing it with where you are saving the Viewer folders on your server. Myself as an example, I'm using the App Builder on my local machine to create the applications on the web server, 'gisdev'. I first map the C: drive of the web server on my local machine (\\gisdev\c$) and name it "G:". I am saving my apps at the web server's wwwroot folder level, so the path from my local machine to the web server is G:\inetpub\wwwroot\. Since I'm saving at this level, the URL to the web server's base folder (I'm using wwwroot) is simply http://gisdev/ . EDIT: oh, and try using the newest application builder if you aren't: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/arcgis-flex-viewer-download I hope this helps. would review the "Getting Started" section of the Flex Viewer Concepts page: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html#/Getting_started/01m300000021000000/ Read Read Read!! This is all i needed to do was read! LOL sometimes i worry about me. Let me at least give myself an excuse. I just took intro to Server in January in Redlands. I loaded this Flex viewer up and it installed and was working within a few mins. I know for a fact i did not have to mess with these settings lol ( i was sitting on an esri classroom machine) Long story short all i had to do was copy the flexviewers folder to the server (like it says to do in the link above) Lesson learned! (this time) Thank you to everyone that replied! Jesse B.
