Is there a recommended way to change the URL for a federating hosting server without unfederating and then refederating the server with the new load balanced URL? I have tried refederating and see the same behavior as described above. The reason I need to change the URL is to move the portal environment to our current load balanced URL that is being used by a server-only environment. I want to avoid any downtime when the switch is made.

I have published all my services prior to adding a load balancer and have noticed that the URL for the service on the Portal item still references the non-load balanced URL. I though setting the WebContextURL on the Portal and the Server to the load balanced URL would resolve that. I would like to avoid having to republish everything after setting up the load balancer, since the load balanced URL is already being used for our existing production. I have attempted changing it using the Python API, but get an error saying the URL cannot be edited, only thing that works is changing it from http to https. I was hoping that the URLs in the items would be relative, but it looks like they are not.

I need to have a hosted feature layer view be defined to show only the features from the previous day. This is not the past 24 hours, but for the entirety of the previous day. I was expecting to be able to update the viewDefinitionQuery using updateDefinition function in the REST admin. However, I cannot use the EXTRACT date function in the definition query. It appears that on the CURRENT_TIMESTAMP function is supported by views. It works in the where clause when doing a query on the feature layer, however when set as the viewDefinitionQuery on the view, the query on the view returns a 400 error: {"error":{"code":400,"message":"Cannot perform query. Invalid query parameters.","details":["Unable to perform query. Please check your parameters."]}} The query I am attempting is: EXTRACT(YEAR from Reported_Date) = EXTRACT(YEAR from CURRENT_TIMESTAMP -1) and EXTRACT(MONTH from Reported_Date) = EXTRACT(MONTH from CURRENT_TIMESTAMP -1) and EXTRACT(DAY from Reported_Date) = EXTRACT(DAY from CURRENT_TIMESTAMP -1)

I actually just answered it myself by using <br> instead of \n. Thanks for the other answer.

I am attempting to have a new line be created using a field calculator by just using \n in the expression. However doing this results in \\n being stored after the calculation. Any suggestions on how to get around this, is there a proper way to escape backslashes?

Our mobile workers had asked about being able to attach photos to assignments in Workforce and we implemented Collector to allow for them to do so. However, it takes several taps to do so and isn't the most intuitive workflow. It would be much simpler if there was the ability to attach photos directly in the mobile app.

Looks like this has been resolved in version 4.2. Try using 4.2 instead of 4.0 and see if that resolves the issue.

Not sure where I had seen this for 3.x, been a while since I have used the API since I went with Leaflet for a while. Anyways, it would be great if the tolerance could be increased, its way to low for tapping on points on touch devices. Ended up finding a workaround though.

Our end users were wondering if it was possible to send an email out when a job was assigned and then open Workforce directly. I was able to talk them out of this and show them that Workforce will send notifications when something is assigned. Thanks, getting great feedback on Workforce from our inspectors!

Ended up being an issue with having ArcGIS Server installed on mounted NFS storage. All our storage in our Linux environment is NFS, but some reason ArcGIS Server didn't like that to be mounted, had to be local to the server. The config-store and directories are still installed on the mounted shared storage, since they need to be shared among servers on the site. Esri Premium support helps us identify this issue.

I have it printing a message before it executes that's GP tool and it that prints within 5 to 10 seconds. Then the command finishes at close to 2 minutes. My work around to get it to execute faster was to publish the GP results to ArcGIS Server and the just make Rest calls in Python. This is actually faster than ArcMap, since server is 64bit. Get around the loading time since instances are already available.

When I run the synchronize changes geoprocessing tool in ArcMap, it only takes under 10 seconds when there are no changes. However if I run this in arcpy it takes up to a minute to run. Any thoughts why its so much slower when running in a script?

That's the interesting thing, nothing really appears in the logs. Even have it set to debug and you can see where it tries to start the service, but that's the last message in the logs. Have an incident with premium support. My guess is that there is some package that got updated that is causing a conflict.

The ArcGIS account definitely has R/W access to the config-store. Though I do not see a locks directory, which I do see on my other environments...

We just started noticing an issue with one of our ArcGIS Server environments that is at 10.4.1. After stopping a map services, we are unable to start the map service again. The only way we can get it to start again is to restart ArcGIS Server. When AGS comes back, the map service is in the stopped state and we are able to start it again. Though if we repeat stopping and then starting, it never starts again. This is the case with any service, including all of the system services (caching, publishing, etc.). We have worked with customer support, thought I would check here as well.
