Attribute Expressions in Map Viewer are incredibly powerful and extremely useful. Unfortunately, bringing those wonderfully calculated and formatted attribute expressions into widgets in Experience Builder currently doesn't seem possible. Your only options for "Connecting to data" are the raw attributes from layers in your web map. The only place within Experience Builder that your attribute expressions appear is in the map pop-up and Feature Info widget. Map Viewer Attribute Expressions should appear in the "connect to data" list for ALL EXB widgets. EXAMPLE: I created an attribute expression called "Mill Calculation" in my web map in Map Viewer and want to connect the text widget in EXB to it. ^ "Mill Calculation" Attribute Expression in Map Viewer ^ Unfortunately, in the "connect to data" list for the text widget, none of my glorious Attribute Expressions are available. For what it's worth, I was unable to use attribute expressions in the following EXB widgets: Table Text (<<<<< If I could only have one, this one would be it.) Query Filter A possible work-around for this is to re-create the attribute expression in the Dynamic Content, Expression tab. I tried this and unfortunately, Arcade expressions are not supported here, but I guess that's a whole different idea...

I really think this idea should be implemented sooner than later. I also like the idea of pressing a key and having your cursor change temporarily to make it easier to see. I run a resolution of 3840x2160 on my PC and the cursor becomes very hard to spot. Play the "find my cursor game" in the following video screen capture to get an idea of what we're talking about here.

Currently in EXB, you have two choices of where you can place the map tools (zoom, home, locate, compass, etc.). Enable the ability to move each of the map tools independently of each other, add them to a widget container, or re-order them in any way. ^ Current options for map tools location ^ Also, the measurement tool is seemingly shunned by the other tools as it appears opposite the location of the zoom/home/locate tools. Allow moving, stacking, or ordering the tools in whatever way we desire. ^ Two options for Measure tool location, neither of which is desirable. ^ Current options

@KoryKramer thanks for the response. It's great to see this getting traction. Whatever ESRI implements should work for all conditions of attribution. I would like to see buttons for "get unique values", "get all domain values", and "get used domain values". I could see using all of these methods regularly.

Robert, As you recommended, changing the layer url from the hostname to the dns entry in the config.xml resolved the issue. The identify tool now returns results from only the specified tax parcel layer when the onlythese variable is set to "true". I was able to correct the following blank result on my own. My sloppy coding caused the blank result to show up. Removing the carriage return between </layer> and </layers> did the trick. I am using the web adapter, but when I remove the port number from the url, the map services fail to load. I'll have to look more into this. I'm with you, it is really annoying to remember to add it. Thanks again for your help, your contributions to this community are invaluable. If our paths ever cross, I owe you a drink.

I have set <layers onlythese="true"> in an attempt to only identify features (tax parcels) in a specified <layer>. After clicking on a feature, nothing happens. If I switch <layers onlythese=> to false, the identify starts working after a feature is clicked but will return results from every layer. Link to flexviewer application Link to REST map service I know it must be something obvious, but I can't seem to crack this nut... Ideas? IdentifyWidget_BC.xml attached.

Robert, Thank you so much for the guidance. This worked like a charm. On another subject, I am having trouble getting your v3.2 identify widget to work correctly. Where should I post those questions? Regards, Jon

Currently, I am using the natively supported URL Parameter with the following syntax to zoom to the centroid of a polygonal feature (tax parcel) using the most recent pre-compiled flex viewer. ...hostname/mapservice/index.html?center=-9489513.3906416,5214676.87622923&scale=500 This is well and good but it requires me to regularly update the link tables when the feature geometry changes. I'd rather use the Parcel ID to do so, example below, but cannot find support for this. I know folks have been talking about this for a while but I was unsure if ESRI ever made this a native function. ...hostname/mapservice/index.html?PIN=1234-12-123-1

I am using Visual Studio 2010 to build my Silverlight app and upon compiling and running project, the app loads fine but my base maps never appear. If I copy the contents of the compiled web folder to our IIS server, the app loads and the base maps appear. Copying the web folder contents works every time but it's very time consuming. Where do I place the clientaccesspolicy.xml so I can preview my app in Visual Studio without copying the project to our IIS server?

I downloaded the Glass Application Template and am trying to edit it in Vis Studio 2010. It opens fine, but the preview won't load and there are 18 critical errors before I change anything. I have downloaded and installed the system.windows.interactivity.dll. I think the root of the 18 errors is this one; Unable to load the metadata for assembly 'Glass'. This assembly may have been downloaded from the web. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=179545. The following error was encountered during load: Could not load file or assembly 'Glass' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. C:\Users\jlmerric\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\glass_template\Glass\MainPage.xaml Has anyone run into this and found a solution?
