I have loaded a MapView using a publicly published webmap. After the map loads, I attempt to retrieve layer attribution as required by Esri guidelines using WebMapLayer.getCopyright(). But it always returns null. String text = "Data Copyrights: <br/>";
for(WebMapLayer layer : webMap.getBaseMap().getBaseMapLayers()) {
text += "(Basemap) " + layer.getTitle() + ": " + layer.getCopyright() + "<br/>";
}
for (WebMapLayer layer : webMap.getOperationalLayers()) {
text += layer.getTitle() + ": " + layer.getCopyright() + "<br/>";
}

I have a test application which uses a single ArcGIS Feature Layer (US Counties) with a scale dependency set at in beyond 1:12million. When I load this map using the WebMap API in the Android SDK the layer does not draw. Even after zooming in several levels to account for the difference in map scales between displays with different pixel density. However, I noticed that if I save the webmap with the extent zoomed into about 1:500k the layer does draw. Its almost like when the map initially loads and the layer is not within the visible scale range, it turns itself off completely. Here is the public webmap I am testing with: http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=0e24dab148164546886da9f882d337ca

Same here. Only hovering over classes brings up the Javadoc. Methods are blank.

Same problem with JBoss 5.1. I register the server and then it works for the current session. I guess the settings are in memory. When I restart the web server or redeploy the web adapter it forgets everything. Gives me "Status: No GIS servers are registered with your Web Adaptor." when browsing to /webadapter. I've tried deploying as exploded war as well. Searched the server directory and found a webadaptor.config file in /tmp/<hash> folder but even it has blank values for everything.

If you have an ArcGIS Server Enterprise license: Add PostGIS and ArcSDE onto your Postgres database and use as data source to ArcGIS. If you don't have ArcGIS Enterprise level license and don't want to buy it: Export data from Postgres into SQL Server Express, add "Personal" ArcSDE (or they call it ArcSDE for SQL Server Express), and use data source in ArcGIS. OR Export from Postgres to File Geodatabase OR even Shapefile would probably work for small scale application. Cheers, Jason http://newmoyergeospatial.com

The recommended way to do this is through ArcGIS and not through external/third party tooling. There are many factors involved and it would be very hard in my opinion to custom create your own replication process without compromising data integrity. Specifically, the file geodatabase's .lock files that you mention are part of the file geodatabase design and it is very dangerous to copy these files when the geodatabase is in use. Data corruption will eventually occur. See this article for more information on the topic. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisserver/10.0/help/arcgis_server_java_help/index.html#/File_geodatabases_and_Windows_Explorer/0092000000v8000000/ Also, I would recommend taking some time to read through Esri's documentation on this subject to get a better understanding of what the best solution would be for your needs. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisserver/10.0/help/arcgis_server_java_help/index.html#/Understanding_distributed_data/0092000013r6000000/ Cheers, Jason http://newmoyergeospatial.com
