Hi, This thread appears to have gone very quiet. Is this forum still actively being monitored by ESRI staff? Regards, Jon

Hi Mike, This issue is still preventing us from moving to 10.2.7. Is there a route for raising this as a bug/fix request? Regards, Jon

Hi Mike, We are moving layers as below, with the indexes appearing valid at runtime. For Each Layer As Layer In newOrder
Dim newIndex As Integer = newOrder.IndexOf(Layer)
Dim existingIndex As Integer = SpatialMap.Layers.IndexOf(Layer)
If newIndex <> existingIndex Then
SpatialMap.Layers.Move(existingIndex, newIndex)
End If
Next

Hi Mike, It's awkward to provide a sample which reproduces this due to the size and nature of the application in which we are experiencing the exception. Is this an issue which you will be looking in to further as part of your support for 10.2.7? We are understandably reluctant to move our code over to v100 at this point in time. Regards, Jon

Hi Mike, We are running 10.2.7 as stated above. "since moving to the latest version of the runtime (10.2.7)." We have been using the runtime since it was in beta and been through each version without having this issue. So it certainly appears to have been introduced in 10.2.7. Regards, Jon

Hi, We are also seeing this issue occur frequently since moving to the latest version of the runtime (10.2.7). With previous versions this was not an issue. Our code hasn't changed, but we now get an awful lot of these which cause our application to crash. Is a fix for this being investigated? Argument out of range exception should not be difficult to put some preventative code around at the very least.

Hi, We are wondering if there is any support for Schematics whilst using the ArcGIS .NET Runtime? I have managed to find some Javascript based examples, but I am yet to see any .NET examples (which aren't ArcObjects related). Is there a way to consume a schematic service via the .NET runtime library? Regards, Jon

Okay, thanks. That's a bit of a shame. I can see that would work nicely for smaller layers but with much larger Feature Layers it doesn't sound great as you would end up with a huge graphics layer, which is not recommended/really an option. The beauty of the Feature Layer is that it doesn't load all of the features in to memory at the same time. Perhaps the real request is therefore not to alter the Feature Layers schema (by joining) but just have the renderer use a 'lookup' in order to get its values. That way you could just point a Feature Layer at a separate list of <Feature ID, Value>s and have the renderer take the value for each Feature from there.

Hi, Is it possible to join a Feature Layer to an in memory table or graphics layer in code and use the attributes from the resulting join for thematically styling the Feature Layer using a class break renderer for example? This would allow a user to bring their own local data in and have it used to style an existing Feature Layer using new attributes. So the steps would be: - Existing Feature Layer - User selects a local database file and imports the data in to a new table or layer - Join the new table or layer to the existing Feature Layer - Create renderer for the Feature Layer based on attributes from the new table or layer Regards,

Hi, we are also seeing Access Violation Exceptions occurring in our application, and unfortunately they are crashing the entire application. We saw this in 10.2.4 and have also seen the same issue since moving to 10.2.5. The issue seems to occur most frequently when adding/updating labels on larger feature layers - so we presume this is in some way related. Looking at the crash dumps from our application we can see it is coming from the RuntimeCoreNETDesktop dll. Analyzing the exception using WinDBG gives us the following info & stack trace: FAULTING_IP: RuntimeCoreNETDesktop!AGRS_ValidateLicenseInfo+22c1a4 112b9d14 8b5e04 mov ebx, dword ptr [esi+4] EXCEPTION_RECORD: ffffffff -- (.exr 0xffffffffffffffff) ExceptionAddress: 112b9d14 (RuntimeCoreNETDesktop!AGRS_ValidateLicenseInfo+0x0022c1a4) ExceptionCode: c0000005 (Access violation) ExceptionFlags: 00000000 NumberParameters: 2 Parameter[0]: 00000000 Parameter[1]: 0000000c Attempt to read from address 0000000c STACK_TEXT: WARNING: Stack unwind information not available. Hi, We use a number of Spatial Queries in our code using a Spatial Query Filter against a Feature Layer (FeatureServiceTable.QueryAsync). Running a 'Within' query in our application gives different results to running it in ArcMap. So in Arcmap we would get 33 Features (correctly) returned from 'Within' a selected polygon. When performing this query in code we get 39 features returned from the Feature Layer. 6 features difference. Interestingly if straight after getting those 39 features back querying our Feature Layer we loop through them and perform the same Within operation using the local 'GeometryEngine.Within' function it will only find 33 of them to be valid - as we would have expected in the first place. Sample code snippet below:
Dim qf As New SpatialQueryFilter() With {.WhereClause = Nothing, .SpatialRelationship = SpatialRelationship.Within, .Geometry = QueryGeometry}
Dim results As IEnumerable(Of Esri.ArcGISRuntime.Data.Feature) = Await .FeatureServiceTable.QueryAsync(qf)
For Each feature As Esri.ArcGISRuntime.Data.Feature In results
Dim validatedCount As Integer = 0
If GeometryEngine.Within(feature.Geometry, QueryGeometry) Then
validatedCount += 1
End If
Next
39 features after querying the Feature Layer. 33 validated using the GeometryEngine against the results. Am I doing something obviously wrong here? I assumed the SpatialRelationship.Within would return the same results? Thanks, Jon

Yep, running out of something. We allow our clients to configure the number of layers & maps so this is something that will be different on a per client basis. Do you have any clear recommendations for number of layers, features etc... anywhere? Or what would you personally consider to be a reasonable amount? Regards, Jon

Hi, We are seeing a problem in our application which is caused by calls to Symbol.CreateSwatchAsync. The exception we are getting is a COMException (0x88980003) which is thrown while we create the images for our legend controls. This doesn't happen with a single map window being opened. But if we start to open more maps at the same time then it starts to appear. We have a large number of layers being loaded in each map (~50) and some of the layers can have large numbers of symbols (unique value renderers etc...). We loop through the layer infos and create the swatches we need to display in our application. It could suggest that something is therefore not being released correctly by the API? I have attached the full stack trace for you, and it's also worth mentioning that our 'googling' bought up this very similar issue raised earlier in the year - https://community.esri.com/thread/95101. Thanks, Jon
