When we publish a service to AGOL directly from ArcGIS Desktop (ie. without ArcGIS Server), the layer hierarchy is lost in the published feature service. ie. layers within groups are all shown at the same level. Any help appreciated. Jane

I have downloaded the BasicViewer template and it is working fine. I am now trying to add draw tools to the site. I can see the point tool that I am testing, but nothing happens when I click it. I've attached the code. Any ideas? Jane

We're using the out-of-the-box PrintTask from ArcGIS Server Manager. I've successfully created 3 print tasks (see http://mapping.tweed.nsw.gov.au/planningjw/Default.aspx). The problem is that sometimes the dynamic legends work and sometimes they don't. Usually the first template selected works, but if you try and print a different one, the dynamic legend stops showing the correct legend. It's like there's some kind of caching problem. Any ideas? Thanks. Jane The code for the Vegetation Map is: <esriTasks:PrintTask ID="PrintTask1" runat="server" bordercolor="LightSteelBlue" borderstyle="Outset" borderwidth="1px" font-names="Verdana" font-size="8pt" forecolor="Black" titlebarcolor="WhiteSmoke" Style="z-index: 10000; left: 200px; position: absolute; top: 200px" Width="200px" Visible="False" BackColor="White" Map="Map1" MapCopyrightText="MapCopyrightText1" Title="Vegetation Map" ButtonText="Create Map" TitleSettings-DisplayInDialog="True" TitleSettings-DefaultValue="Vegetation Map" MapSettings-DisplayInDialog="True" MapSettings-DefaultValue="False" ResultsVisible="True" WidthSettings-DisplayInDialog="True" WidthSettings-DefaultValue="2" WidthSettings-WidthList="SizeHeight=3;SizeWidth=3;Name=Small;Unit=Inches:::SizeHeight=5;SizeWidth=5;Name=Medium;Unit=Inches:::SizeHeight=7;SizeWidth=7;Name=Large;Unit=Inches" QualitySettings-DisplayInDialog="False" QualitySettings-DefaultValue="1" PreserveScale="True" ScaleBarSettings-DisplayInDialog="False" ScaleBarSettings-DefaultValue="True" NorthArrowSettings-DisplayInDialog="False" NorthArrowSettings-DefaultValue="True" NorthArrowSettings-DisplayCharacter="ESRI North:176" LegendSettings-Condensed="True" LegendSettings-Columns="3" LegendSettings-ColumnThreshold="3" LegendSettings-DisplayInDialog="False" LegendSettings-DefaultValue="True" LegendSettings-HiddenLayers="Base_Map^^^Towns:::Base_Map^^^Main Roads:::Base_Map^^^Road Names:::Base_Map^^^Tweed Shire:::Flooding:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^Planning - General:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^Section 94 Plan:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^Constraints:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^Environment^^^Osprey Nests:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^DCP Boundaries:::Planning_Flood_Coast_TPO^^^LEP 2000:::Waterways:::Aerial_photography_2009_off:::Aerial_Photography_OFF" NavigationPath="Print"><TaskResultsContainers><esri:BuddyControl Name="TaskResults1" /></TaskResultsContainers></esriTasks:PrintTask>

Thanks to this thread I changed my mapped drives to UNC. What I'm not sure about is what to do with my interoperability connection to ORacle Spatial. Here's an example: gp.QuickExport_interop("'Interoperability Connections\\Connection (1) - ORACLE8I.fdl\\TWEED.SP_CATTLE_DIP_SITE Point'", Output_Dataset_Constraints) Any ideas appreciated. Jane

On a nightly basis I convert data from Oracle Spatial (not with arcSDE) to Feature Classes in a File Geodatabase. The ID field in Oracle Spatial is GID. When data is converted to a Feature Class using the Quickexport function two new ID fields are automatically generated: Field Name = Object_ID, Data Type = Object ID and Alias = "Object ID" Field Name = ObjectID, Data Type = Long Integer and Alias = OBJECTID Why are both of these fields generated? Is there any way to control this so only the Field Name Object_ID is created? Thanks. Jane

From the Layout view in ArcMap, there is an option when exporting a map to Clip Output to Graphics Extent. I want like to be able to incorporate this in my Python script. Jane

Thanks Jeff. I am creating a tool where the user inputs a Property Number, Scale and Description. The mxd then zooms to that Property at the scale nominated and outputs to a pdf. The user who has requested this tool frequently uses the Clip Output to Graphics Extent to export to the pdf. She has asked me to incorporate this into my tool (using arcy). Jane

I have a script for automating a Spatial ETL Tool that I have developed. This worked fine in 9.3.1, but when I run it in 10 I get an error. Any ideas? Thanks.
