ArcGIS Server 10.3.1 Linux version RHEL 6.7, SELINUX=permissive, not running web adaptor. Upgraded two boxes running this configuration this past weekend to RHEL 6.8, after upgrading the PublishingTools failed to start and services were throwing the error "Could not create object 'esriCarto.MapServerObjectFactory." We rolled back to RHEL 6.7 and everything started working again. We have a third box with the same configuration that did not get updated and it didn't have any problems. Obviously our problems were solved with the rollback but just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else runs into something similar. Cheers

I'm not sure you can actually create vector tiles with 10.4. I think you can only do it with ArcGIS Pro 1.2, and right now you can only publish vector tiles to AGOL and Portal, not directly to ArcGIS server.

I created a tile package using ArcGIS desktop 10.3.1. I then uploaded that tile package to AGOL using the add item interface in My Content. This tiled layer works fine. I then created a hosted feature layer from the same dataset that I tiled. This layer also works fine. When I add my tiled layer to the arcgis.com map and open the enable pop-ups menu I select "Choose from my items" and select the hosted feature layer that I created I get the message "The layer referenced by MyHostedFeatureLayer is not available." I have succesfully enabled pop-ups on tiled layers using URL's from ArcGIS server services. Is it possible to enable pop-ups on a tiled layer with a feature layer hosted on AGOL? I get the "The layer referenced by MyHostedFeatureLayer is not available," message from all items hosted on AGOL. The two layers in question are: https://ufl.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=fe4bbd5c01d142b898af49ec2d73f8b7 https://ufl.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=1a23efe13afd49eea82b1f288279547d

Dan, Thanks for the reply. Yes, as far as I can tell I have followed the recommendations for vector tile map creation and using label classes.

I am creating Vector tiles of a parcel layer with labels. My project has labels that stack and are placed "straight in polygon." In ArcGIS Pro all the labels draw as I would predict. After I create my vector tile package and upload to ArcGIS Online the labels are different. I've also noticed that some features don't get labeled at all. I've attached images of some of the differences I've seen. Just wondering if there are some guidelines for labeling with vector tiling that I am missing. Thanks.

We've done the state of Florida. We had many issues. Time to cache and size of cache definitely contributed, but publishing from a windows environment to linux ArcGIS Server was also a major obstacle. There was a whole process we had to do creating a mosaic dataset and then breaking the file paths and then copying to the linux box because of the file path differences between windows and linux. It's been awhile so I don't remember the exact details, but I believe the time was 9 - 12 days and close to a terabyte of disk space. We had four server boxes assigned to tile creation.

I've been testing this recently and so far the vector tiles have been significantly faster. I've done parcels for the entire state of Florida down to 1:1128 in about 15 minutes. Adding labels seemed to double the time to about 30 minutes. The size was also considerably smaller coming in at at around 400 MB, compared to multiple hours and gigs previously. My guess is you could easily do this over the weekend depending on the size of the area you are covering.

No, that is what we are seeing. We would like them to not match if that's possible. Is that possible?

Thanks Daniel. After I reset the downloads in the data manager my shape downloads are now including metadata. One more follow up question, I noticed that the names of both the zip and shapefile changed to the title from the item details page for the layer (with underscores replacing spaces). Previously it was using whatever we named the service when uploaded to AGOL and it didn't change when we edited that item's title. Is it possible for the download file name to differ from the item details title? For example, we would like the download file name to be gc_communitycenter_feb15 and the title that shows up in our open data site to be: GeoPlan Cultural Center and Library Facilities in Florida - 2015 Thanks for you help!

Hi Courtney, Thanks for the reply. I can give you the link to the Open Data Site, but at this point none of the layers are downloading. I get the gathering the data message in the My Activity pop up and then nothing happens. The downloads have been weird all day. At one point I got a zip file with another zip file inside. I got a shape with no features which had the line feature icon, but was supposed to be a polygon. A couple had metadata, the majority did not. Anyway, there are currently two layers shared on the site, GeoPlan Cultural Center and Library Facilities in Florida - 2015 and GeoPlan Hospital Facilities in Florida - 2013. Culture Centers has never downloaded with metadata and Hospitals has downloaded with metadata. Site URL: Search | University of Florida I will leave the site as is for now. If there is anything else I can do to make investigating easier just let me know. Thanks again, Danny

I've added more hosted feature layers and eventually some layers have included metadata with the download. I can't find any reason why some are including the metadata and some aren't.

I have a hosted feature layer available through an ArcGIS Open Data site. I have added metadata via the web editor and it can be viewed from the metadata link on the details tab for the layer (from within the open data site). When the hosted feature layer is downloaded no metadata is included. Is it possible to bundle metadata with a hosted feature layer download? Can an HTML file be bundled with the download? Thanks.
