Hi, I can't install ESRI Maps for Office. I have Microsoft Office 2013 that is 32 bit operating system (both the PC and the Office Software). Does ESRI Maps support Office 2013 yet? I thought I saw some where that it does but it is not working for me. Please help. Thanks. Kimball Hansen

Thanks. It worked. Do you know how to parse out each year, month, day, hour, minute from this one field into their own separate field? Since this is in the YYYYMMDDHHMM timestamp, I would like to put them in their own field.

I would like to graph my data from a shapefile. The data I wish to display is the sum of the nominal data per each year that it occurred. I have enclosed a screen shot of what I mean. In red, is the column of data I wish to graph. I want the W's totaled per year and the A's totaled per year. Then I can display those bars on a yearly basis with their respective totals. If that makes sense, please help me. Thank you.

I want to create a new field with years data. There is an existing field with the timestamp YYYYMMDDHHMM. But I just want the years from that field to the new field. That way I can display just the years when I create a graph. IS there anyone that can explain the code to do this. I am not a programmer and need the scripts or python code explained as if I were a 5-year old. Thank you.

That worked perfectly. Thanks Jeff. When I ran it however it listed the numbers in order according to the OBJECTID field. I would like to have it run the calculator when I sort a different field ascending. I want to list my streets in alphabetical order and create this new field and run the script so the numbers ascend according to the aphabetical streets. Do you know if it's possible to do that or does it always sort according to the OBJECTID field?

There should have been a text message after the number, the text will be more useful to determine the issue, however make sure your indenting is correct for python and that Python is checked as the code type. Python REQUIRES block indenting However, I don't believe this code takes into account that you wanted the records numbered in address order. I don't know Python so I don't know what parts to indent.

I copied that code and when I run the Field Calculator I get an error. The error number is 000539 if that has any relevance to you. Does the field have to be a certain type? (I tried int and double and both didn't work). Or do all the records need to have zero or 1 first in them to us the code? I don't have any other guesses of what to do.

Thanks. I'm very new to python and scripts and don't understand how to begin with that code. Could you please give me a step by step example? Also, which variables are yours that I'm going to cut so I can paste mine? Kimball Hansen

Hi, I have my attribute table sorted ascending according to my street names (Aprox. 1914 records). I need to make a new field that starts at 10,000 and increments by 1 until it is filled. Is there a way I can do this? I'm thinking of doing some loop that increments by one (because the default for loop in the field calculator repeats the same number) but I don't know how to do that. Any help? Thanks. Kimball Hansen

I displayed my roads with the symbology, categories unique values, feature so that all the roads have a unique color asssociated to them. When I display it in the legend I get a huge list. I only want a few roads on my legend rather than all of them. Example: I have 10 different state highways each with the same color red. In my legend I only want one red line that refers to all the state highways rather than ten red lines in the legend. I hope someone can help. Thanks. Kimball Hansen

Someone had this same question ten years ago on another closed thread and it still wasn't answered. Is there a way to stack labels to two lines instead of one? I am referring to only one field being stacked. I have many State Highways and US Highways and instead the label showing US 193 or LA 345 I would like it to be: US 193 or LA 345 Could you help me with that? Thanks. Kimball Hansen
