Ah, yes, i see it has just been released.. it is quite a step forward, from 10.x to 100.x. Anyway, we are not in a position right now to upgrade. So we have to find another way to resolve this issues. It definitely seems to be specific to the Lenovo (Thinkpad). You can remove your e-mail address (to prevent spammers). Thank you for your response.

Hi adam, could i e-mail with you in private? I'm having a similar error with the Runtime for WPF on a Lenovo machine. I'm not sure what you mean with "Resolved in Runtime 100.0.0". As far as i know there is no version 100.0.0.

I use the JsonToFeature (Conversion) tool a lot within our program to allow users to export their GraphicsLayers to shapefiles. It works quite alright for most cases, but the attached json file fails without any clear description except "the workspace is not connected". The error doesn't make any sense as the same call works for other layers where we are using the same workspace settings. Perhaps Esri can try to parse this json file and give us a better idea on what is failing? presumably there is a markup error in the Json file that might have already been addressed in Runtime .NET ? I have attached the json file. Thanks!

Hi, is there a list of known defects for the latest version of Runtime for WPF 10.2.5? We haven't been able to upgrade to .NET yet and are running into problems with the WPF version. I'm curious whether this is a bug or if i'm doing something wrong. In this case it is related to the UniqueValueMultipleFieldsRenderer, but I might run into other problems in the future, so i was curious if Esri has a list of known defects for this final version of this product?

Thank you. That thread was really helpful. It is interesting to see that it actually works when you specify an empty SpatialReference object (thus: polygon = arcpy.Polygon(points, arcpy.SpatialReference())) At least there is some workaround.

specifing the spatial reference seems to resolve the issue. Could you explain or reference me to an article that explains the collapsing of the polygon. I'm not sure what this means. Would the arcpy.Polygon() constructor assume a default spatial reference when none specified where these points are to closely to one another?

Good point! Thanks! I adjusted it in my code, but doesn't matter in regards to the 'bug' I mentioned.

Note the small difference in the points that are defined for the two tests. The first set fails. The second set succeeds successfully. You used the second set, which is known to work. Try again with this set and you will see it fails: [37.310437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.242706], [37.310437, -122.242706]]

No, that doesn't matter. The second test runs successfully with a 4 points. I also tried running it with 5 points, with no luck.

Hi, I have developed two tests to demonstrate the problem def test_centroidTestFails(self): polygonpoints = [ [37.310437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.242706], [37.310437, -122.242706]] points = arcpy.Array([arcpy.Point(*coords) for coords in polygonpoints]) polygon = arcpy.Polygon(points) with self.assertRaises(Exception) as context: centroid = polygon.centroid def test_centroidTestSucceeds(self): polygonpoints = [ [37.310437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.244706], [37.320437, -122.241706], [37.310437, -122.241706]] points = arcpy.Array([arcpy.Point(*coords) for coords in polygonpoints]) polygon = arcpy.Polygon(points) centroid = polygon.centroid Why is the first test failing? For some reason the generated points array can't be used as input for the arcpy.Polygon() constructor. polygon.pointCount will return 0 for the test_centroidTestFails(). What is going wrong? Am i doing something wrong or is this a framework problem? EDIT: Note that there is a small difference in the data points that are used for the two tests. The first test fails for no apparent reason and polygon.pointCount will return 0 on this test. The second test works successfully. For some reason the Array of points that is created is not accepted by the polygon constructor in the first test. Adding an additional point to close the polygon is not necessary and doesn't resolve the issue. The polygon will still return 0 points when using the data points from the first test. EDIT 2: the minor difference is -122.242706 vs. -122.241706 for the last two data points. ( .242 vs .241)

Hi Michael Branscomb We are trying to achieve the same thing (export to KML), but as a workaround for another issue. We are not able to open the generated shapefiles in Google Earth (Pro) (v7.1.5.1557). I have attached the shapefile and the Google Earth Pro error messages. We parse the JSON to our GP Task that uses arcpy.JSONToFeatures_conversion(input_file, temp_fc) and arcpy.FeatureClassToShapefile_conversion(temp_fc, output_folder) to create the shapefile. The original JSON file is part of the shapefile.zip. I sort of understand that you might consider this more of an issue for Google Pro Earth then for Esri, but perhaps something is going wrong in the conversion that is actually an Esri problem? To workaround this issue i investigated the use of exporting the file as KML, but sadly this is not supported in Runtime. btw: using Runtime for WPF 10.2.2.0 Greetings Bjorn

Hi, I would like to use the Union (Spatial) * method with multiple input features, but this doesn't seem to be allowed within Runtime as you can't get an Advanced license for the Runtime environment? Is that correct? *: Union (Spatial) method: ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) License: With ArcGIS for Desktop Basic and Standard licenses, the number of input feature classes or layers is limited to two. Greetings Bjorn Edit/update: error message while executing GPK: Failed to execute. Parameters are not valid. ERROR 000384: Cannot have more than 2 inputs with the ArcView or ArcEditor license Failed to execute (Union).

Hi Mike, thank you for the quick reply and welcoming me back! I will need to discuss this with the product owner as we have a major release coming up, so i don't expect us to switch just yet. I will keep you informed. Could you perhaps drop me an e-mail (or pm) so I have your email address again. That way i can chime you in on what we are doing. Thanks!
