This may not match what others are experiencing, but thought I'd post a reply just in case. After a lot of sleuthing it's looking like I'll need to take this up with support, here's what I found (and a very bizarre workaround): During the post-installation upgrade step, the web interface threw an error: I found several posts suggesting it was permissions or related to the service user that ArcGIS Server runs as. None of those solutions panned out. Then I noticed that when I clicked Continue Server Upgrade the task manager would populate with ARCSOC.exe services slowly, then nearly all at once they would disappear and the web interface would throw the error. Searched to ArcGIS server logs, but there was nothing to indicate the services had even started. Then l had a look through Windows Event Viewer and found tons of application errors generated by ARCSOC.exe, with the faulting module gdal_e.dll. Had a look at the DLL file itself and it turned out to be a very newly compile version of GDAL. I decided to compare it to the DLL included with ArcGIS Pro 2.9. Noting that it wasn't a major version change, I decided to risk it and replace the 3.4.0.34 version with the 3.3.0.25 from Pro 2.9. After doing that, the upgrade completed successfully! It seems that this particular build of the GDAL DLL 3.4.0.34 might have an issue running on our VM. This wouldn't be the first time we've found a broken build of a DLL. We had issues with the version of NumPy ESRI includes with the python environment, where it would crash specifically on the particular CPU used by our VM because it had been built assuming support for a particular CPU feature. Mixing DLLs versions like this is of course not ideal, especially on a production machine.

After upgrading our ArcGIS Enterprise from 10.9.1 to 11 we've noticed that filtering of dynamic map services no longer works in ArcGIS Dashboards at all. This was all working correctly in 10.9.1. Filter of dynamic map services does work in the old and new Map Viewer in Portal. It seems to be specific to Dynamic Map Services, Feature Services work fine in both. Has anyone that has upgraded to 11 experienced this issue? If so, have you found a workaround or contacted ESRI? We're getting in touch with support however we may simply have to roll back as this breaks a lot of our apps.

I'm experiencing this identical situation! Upgrading 10.9.1 to 11. I've tried a few things so far but nothing has been working. I'll see if I can post more information when I have more time. Do you have a case number or bug number with esri? UPDATE: Had a chance to dig deeper. So it looks like my ARCSOC.exe's are crashing immediately after click the 'Upgrade' button. When I go to Windows Event Viewer it identifies a DLL (gdal_e.dll) in the ArcGIS server directory as the culprit. Out of curiosity could you have a look at your windows Even Viewer the moment after the Upgrade fails to see if there's any errors mentioning 'gdal_e.dll'? If you have a similar error somewhere in there, we may truly be experiencing the same bug. You may have to sift through the Event Viewer, tends to have a lot of entries.

We're in need of a solution for this too. Survey123 itself is perfect for our use case, but will never be fully implemented until on-premises reporting is available. We service remote mining operations with intermittent connections to the internet. Relying on a cloud based service isn't an option for us no matter how secure it may be.

I seem to have the identical issue. The installer runs for nearly 2 hours before throwing an error indicating 'Installer is no longer responding'. There's still a lot of CPU and disk activity at this point according to task manager. If I click 'Retry' the installer does appear to continue copying files and then finishes 'Successfully', however the Portal for ArcGIS Service is not started and cannot be started manually (terminates instantly with no errors or logs written). So effectively a broken install. I've tried installing it silently from the command line with the same issue. There's not much to go on beside the 'Installer is no longer responding' error. My Configuration: - HyperV VM - Windows Server 2019 - Upgrading from an 10.8.0 installation (non-enterprise builder) that had never been upgraded before - ArcGIS Service Account is a Domain User - 4 Cores Assigned with 48GB memory - SSD System and Data Drives

I really like the Smart Editor's features, but one failing compared to the older 'dumb' editor widget is it's use of screen real-estate. In the regular Edit widget the templates pane automatically sized itself to match the size that the widget was set to. In the Smart Editor the template pane is fixed to a preset size forcing people to scroll and search for their template way more than necessary. If it had auto-sized all of the templates would have fit on screen. Is there any simple way to get it to automatically size the templates pane similar to the regular Edit widget? It would be nice to have a way to auto-size without using the developer edition to modify code. Although if that's what it comes down to, I might try and tackle it. Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks! -K

I'm using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 with ArcGIS Portal 10.6.1 with data in SQL Server 2014. I've been attempting to build a ArcGIS Portal map popup with a custom attribute expression written in Arcade to calculate X and Y from the Geometry object. However it seems like the Arcade geometry object is Null in all Map Image Layers (these are dynamically drawn and the data is stored in an enterprise geodatabase). On a dynamically drawn Map Image Layer, 'Text($feature)' returns: {"geometry":null,"attributes":{"Elevation":366.27200317,"GlobalID":"{E132538C-B97D-4464-873B-026D434A93F4}","Layer":"Fire_Hydrant","OBJECTID":1,"POINT_X":426693.043,"POINT_Y":5410332.5313,"Utility_Type":1}} I do have fields for the X and Y however they are not dynamic when the points moves which is why I want to calculate from the geometry of the point. On a Feature Layer drawn from the same data source, 'Text($feature)' returns: {"geometry":{"x":426693.0429999996,"y":5410332.531300001,"spatialReference":{"latestWkid":26915,"wkid":26915}},"attributes":{"Elevation":366.27200317,"GlobalID":"{E132538C-B97D-4464-873B-026D434A93F4}","Layer":"Fire_Hydrant","OBJECTID":1,"POINT_X":426693.043,"POINT_Y":5410332.5313,"Utility_Type":1}} There's no mention of this limitation in the documentation that I can find. If it truly isn't supported in Map Image Layers that throws a wrench in my plans. I can understand tiled map image services not supporting this, but i really think it should work in dynamic ones that support Query operations. Anyone have the same issue or any work-arounds? I'm thinking about filing a bug report/feature request.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm using developer edition 2.4 and users have been complaining about 3 to 10 second pauses when zooming. I tested the map itself by viewing the it in portal, it displays correctly with no pauses at all. Then on a whim I stopped the layer list widget in the app from automatically loading on startup of the web app, this gave a near instantaneous zoom response. Then I opened the layer list widget manually and the pauses in zooming had returned. Additionally, after closing the Layer List the zooming pauses remain as the widget isn't automatically unloaded when closed. This map does have a moderate amount of layers, however there are no pauses zooming when viewing the map in ArcGIS Portal, or when the layer list widget is disabled in the web app. This is making me suspect a bug where the map is waiting to draw while the layer list is doing something else. Perhaps it's checking weather each layer is visible at that scale?? Does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, suggestions or a work-around that I could try? Thanks, -Kurtis

International standard date format support (ISO Standard 8601 example: YYYY-MM-DD) is not supported in any of ESRI's AGOL and Portal based solutions. Many organizations mandate the use of this date standard and not having it supported is an impediment to rolling out these solutions. Having dates in this format gives a predictable and easily sortable date format that is compatible across many systems, especially those that work internationally. ISO 8601 - Wikipedia

Presently the default DPI value of the print widget in the Web AppBuilder is static and set extremely low (96dpi which is fine for screen viewing but inappropriate for printing) and can only be modified by changing the code in the Developer Edition. Users complain that maps created are low-res and have to be instructed to increase the DPI every single time they print. Having the default DPI as a configurable widget option would solve this problem.

I'm wondering if anyone has used Survey123 for this already or if Survey123 plans to support the following workflow. I have an enterprise geodatabase with an existing data structure where there's a point feature class containing 'AirQuality_SampleSites'.There's also two tables called 'AirQuality_FieldData_TSP' and 'AirQuality_FieldData_PM25' these two tables contain the data collected from instruments at the sample sites. There is a 1 to Many relationship class relating the 'AirQuality_SampleSites' to the 'AirQuality_FieldData' tables with a field called 'STATION_ID' (with the postfix '_PK' and '_FK' to distinguish between primary and foreign keys). With this current structure we have been entering the instrument readings into those two tables with a domain on the 'STATION_ID' so the relate works correctly no matter how the records are added. This works perfectly for our web apps and in ArcMap. We've also used collector to add related records but it really isn't an ideal way to enter data like this. So it would seem that a form-centric approach like Survey123 would be perfect for the purpose of adding records to our related tables. Essentially what i'm envisioning: User brings tablet to the sample site. They load up Survey123 and select 'AirQuality Field Inspection' Select which Sample Site they're at from a drop down list (in this case there's only 4) Fill out the form with the instrumentation data and possibly add a photo attachment of site conditions. Return to the office and submit the survey data. Our related tables would then have the latest data from the field available immediately on our internal Web GIS Applications and related to the appropriate sample site. I understand that support for adding to existing feature classes in a federated environment with an enterprise geodatabase is coming. But I'm curious if this sort of situation where were simply putting new rows into a table is on the horizon too? If anyone is in a similar situation I'm curious if you've found a workaround or alternate solution to this. Thanks, -Kurtis
