Hi everyone, been reading several posts about how to properly use hyperlinks in popup windows; and I have a question. In my case I have a popup configured to show several fields, one of those being a field which contains a full url that I created using field calculator in arcmap. An example of a value in this field is 'http://athenscountyauditor.org/Data.aspx?ParcelID=1234567' (not a real value for the sake of example). The full url up to the '=' sign was one input and the {PARID} comprised the 1234567 value in calculator. My question is, the documentation for 2.4 says that fields with valid links will automatically be clickable; in my case the popup returns nothing in that field (see attachment). So is something wrong with the URL that is making it appear invalid? In the pop up config I have it simply displayed as, <field name="URL" alias= "Aud. Website" visible="true"/>. I understand you can accomplish this functionality through the use of the description tag, but in using that you cannot use the fields tag - bummer. Any ideas? Thanks- Bret A. Marietta Ohio

Philipp, (and others) Thanks for the tip. However when I do replace my index.mxml (or whatever your default application .mxml is in your particular project) I can't get the project to run or compile due to an error that says 'Could not resolve <viewer:ViewerContainer> to a component implementation.' The SWC file is properly in the libs directory of this project, so I'm not really sure what that means or how to resolve it. I sure hope this type of basic login security is added for out of the box use in subsequent versions - this was the beauty of the .net adf - it was so easy. Thanks again- B

Great tool here, and I've been reading through all the posts related to it. I saw there were several requests for some step by step instructions for implementation; did anyone ever receive those, or would someone who has successfully implemented this be willing to give me a brief run through? (GIS manager here, not much of a programmer...) This is going to solve a great need here in our shop, as we heavily used secured .net applications and didn't see an easy way to implement the same level of access control on flex applications. Thanks in advance- Bret A. Marietta Ohio

Note to ArcView users (myself included), you won't be able to use the solution found in the link, as this tool references two other toolbox tools (Point to Feature and Frequency) that are not available at the ArcView license level. How and why this functionality was essentially left out is maddening to me, ha. /end rant
