Ah now I see what you were saying. The publishingTool is started. Yeah, I got feature classes from an oracle database which I copy in the standard gdb from ArcMap. It should be everything alright. I already published services to my server. It just started to act all crazy last week. Before that I hadn't had any problems with publishing. I also could publish exactly the same mxd-files and all two weeks prior. Now they lead to crashes. I just realized ArcMap also crashing because of other reasons, e.g. adding global IDs to my data. This leads to my suspicion regarding a somehow damaged installation.

Hi, 1. The server version is 10.5 2. Where do I check the status? It seems to be defining a service definition from looking at the publishing process window. I can't look at the result window because of the crashing. 3. They are saved in a gdb, i get the layers from an oracle12 sde. 4. Editing, Updatin, Extraction and delete. I would like to do syncing to but it isn't necessary for the moment. (I want to use the feature services for Collector for ArcGIS) 5. The MXD Doctor didn't find any issues. Could it be that there is something broken in the installation which I could resolve by reinstalling? Thank you for your help

Hey there, Whenever I try to publish a feature service in ArcMap it crashes. When I tried to publish the same files last week I got the error 001369 (Packaging suceeded, but publishing failed) After changing nothing over the weekend I found my ArcMap crashing when trying to get the same error again. Suprised about that I tried to reload my mxd-files just to realize that ArcMap crashes instantaniously when trying to open those files. I also created new feature classes to publish but the result was the same. What could be the problem? I sincerly don't know where to lock. The log-files from my server manager don't seem to tell me anything (I assume ArcMap doesn't even start to work on the publishing process) and because of the crash I can't look into the ArcMap results window. Had anybody similiar problems while publishing services to his portal? Thanks in advance Leo

Hi there, I installed ArcGIS Server 10.5, Portal for ArcGIS 10.5, Data Store 10.5 and two Oracle 12 Databases. I use an 32bit and an 64bit instant client to connect the oracle databases. I also have all of the above recently updated. I set up Portal, Server an databases on a virtual machine with Windows 2012 R2. I recently set up a Portal for ArcGIS on this machine. I mainly work on a second machine with Windows 8.1 and ArcMap 10.5 and an 32bit oracle instant client. (for Publishing etc.) Recently (last 2 or 3 weeks) I noticed that my Server just looses connection to the databases. After restarting it has problems to find my data store and the databases (managed and unmanaged). When it finds those it has all of its system services stopped. (e.g. publishing) Even worse often enough, after I get the services to run the connection to the databases gets lost again. Most of the time I don't even get my Server to connect to my databases. The first two or three ours a day everything works just fine. After that the server just becomes really unreliable and becomes a constant struggle to get the connection right. Even if I get a connection it just stays for a few minutes and looses it again while for example publishing. Sometimes the Server also just stops running, so I have to start it up again. I'm really out of ideas. I tried updating the programs, restarting databases, data store, server and even portal in every imaginable order. Thanks in advance! Leonhard

Hi there, I try to set up a Collector Service to edit and add features. Whenever I try to do so I get the error "Error performing add features operation" or sometimes "unable to complete operation. geometry could not be set". I already looked at a similiar question from a while back but could not find a way to solve my problem. I don't know why there are two different errors popping up. My service allows to create, delete, sync, update and query. I allow geometry updates and the update of true curves, true z-values and updates without m-values. The data frame has the same coordinates system as my layers. (ETRS_1989_UTM_Zone_32N, WKID: Authority: 25832 (EPSG), Projection: Transverse_Mercator) How can I change the coordinate system of my layers? I work with a rather large oracle 12 database. I work in a Portal for ArcGIS 10.5, my Server is also 10.5. I try to use the Collector service with an Ipad. Collector is also on the most recent version. All help is really appreciated! Thanks in advance! Leonhard Edit: I also tried to change the projection of my layers to the WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) but failed (error 001489) because my layer "participates in more advance capabilities (such as topology and geometric network)"

Hi Keith, i had the same error last week. I would suggest that you look in the admin directory of your server manager and look what protocol setting is enabled under /admin/security/config. Enable http and https protocol support. This did the trick for me at least. I hope this helps. Cheers Leo

Hi James, The error 500 appears when I try to upload the form, correct. The error 400 didn't suprise me, I already thought that would make trouble. I tried loading a zip file into my contents and got this error message: I tried to use the "United Kingdom PCArea Boundaries 2013" as feature service for my survey.

Hi James, The errors happen when I try to create or publish surveys in survey123 connect on my portal. This error occurs when I try to create a survey from an existing feature service: The error 500 occurs when I try to publish a completely new survey: Note: When I look in my Portal I find this. So there is something getting published. When i then try to "republish" the survey I get the error 400: I also got the log files attached to my original post. They have created a feature service. I can't really read to much out of them otherwise. And the error 498 ("Invalid token") occurs when I try to create a survey on top of an existing example service from esri: Yes, the service is on an federated server. How do I get my feature service from my federated server on my data store to solve this problem? I don't know if there is something wrong with my portal. There is no problem to use Collector with this portal. Thanks in advance Leo

Hi there, I set up a portal for arcgis and tried to publish a survey but I get the errorcode: 400. If I try to fix the error by deleting the folder in my portal the error code 500 (Internal server error) appears. My survey is a simple test file without anything in it except the default "example-field". Next thing is: I got a feature service on my portal and want to publish a survey based on it. When i try to use its design in survey123 i get an "feature service error". The same error occurs when I try to create a survey from any other example feature service listed. Is there something in the settings of my feature service that might cause trouble with survey123? If so where do I fix it? I enabled the function "Feature Access" for the service in my Server Manager. Thanks in advance! Leo Edit: The log-files of my server. Check out the data for the 28. April.

Ah ok, that is a tricky one. supportSceneService was set to false but must be set true. I updated my Survey123 connect to the 2.0 beta version. That fixed the problem. Thank you!

Hi there, I tried to set up a Portal for Survey123. I installed ArcGIS Server 10.5, Portal for ArcGIS 10.5 and at last ArcGIS Data Store 10.5. I got my Server hosted but can't check if my Data Store is connected. When I try to connect my portal I get following error code: "Survey123 requires that Portal for ArcGIS 10.3.1 or later and is configured with a Hosted Server and ArcGIS Data Store" I know that my Portal is configured with a hosted server so there has to be something wrong with the Data Store. Where can I check on that? How do I know if it is connected correctly? I tried to uninstall the Data Store and reinstall it again but it didn't work. I already read every single article on the documentation but couldn't find an answer. Also I tried to install Survey123 connect on a machine with the operating system "Windows Server 2012 R2" and could not get it to run. Everytime I opened the program it shut down. Thanks in advance! Leo
