There's a bug in the Javascript API 4.1 with regard to adding a Graphic to a MapView. The bug did not show up when I used a Web Mercator Map, but it did when I used a Map having the Dutch Spatial Reference (wkid 28992). It possibly also shows up with other non-WGS84-ish Spatial References, but I didn't check that. I've added two short samples: one for version 4.0 (working) and one for version 4.1 (not working). Does anyone recognize this and, if so, know how to work around it? Cheers, Wim

Thanks a lot! I realize I've created a lot of action with my question. But please allow me to state here that I'm perfectly OK with the course you are taking. You're trying to make the API simpler and more intuitive and that takes time. Please throw the stuff at us as soon as you think it's more or less workable. We'll adapt (at least most of us, I assume). Better than getting everything at the last possible moment.

Julie, That may be the case, but could you please put it back into the type definitions for TypeScript as well? I assumed the the IdentifyTask had gone when I got a TypeScript build error and looked at the 4.1 documentation.

Yann, Thanks! Ok, that makes sense. I'm going to try the queryFeatures method on the Sublayer then. Cheers, Willem

Robert, Yes, I have. But that doesn't help me much as in that sample the QueryTask is used on a FeatureService, not on a MapService containing a Raster Layer.

I have a MapImageLayer on which I was using an IdentifyTask in version 4.0. Unfortunately that task is removed from version 4.1. I don't know why. It isn't mentioned in the documentation. Supposedly the QueryTask can be used instead. I need to get out the values from one single sublayer, so that would be a valid alternative for me. But I can't get the QueryTask to work on the MapImageLayer. Does anyone know if that can be done and if so, which parameters to use? I keep getting the message "Invalid or missing input parameter".

Setting the C/C++ Code Generation Runtime Library to Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd) helps in Visual Studio 2012, but when I compiled my code in Visual Studio 2013 Preview and ran it, even that option led to the runtime error mentioned above. So it is probably not only a static linking problem.

Today I tried the ESRI.ArcGIS.Client Silverlight assembly in a Windows Mobile 7 project. I created a simple project with just a Map in it. After I added references to System.Windows and System.Windows.Browser the project compiled without any errors or warnings. However, when I tried to run it in the emulator, I got the message "Invalid URI scheme 'file://' for map control. Control must be hosted in a HTTP(S) website". I noticed Morten's reply in this thread: http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=213&f=2455&t=296015 Morten states: "Since the map control is talking to REST services hosted on HTTP(S), the silverlight application MUST run under a http:// url. Running as file:// is considered "cross scheme" and is blocked by Silverlight for security reasons." I assume the ESRI controls are blocking the calls, because when I tried using just the Silverlight 4 RC stuff in the Windows Mobile emulator (without the ESRI controls) I could easily access and use ESRI REST services. Are there any plans to make the Map aware of the host environment and allow it to make REST calls in Windows Mobile when running out-of-browser? Wim

I created an extension Add-In for ArcMap in C# using the wizard in VS2008. The NewDocument and OpenDocument events are wired up on startup, but the assigned method is never called. Sometimes it works if I step through some statements after having set a breakpoint in the StartUp method and then press F5, but it never works without breakpoints or outside the debugger. I've attached a minimal sample application. The MessageBoxes never show up. Wim Ligtendag
