I am creating it from the WMX client application. Just a little background. I imported a configuration file during the post-installation process and looks like one of its components is the culprit. I managed to find a workaround by doing a 'no config' post-installation, then sending the job components, notifications, users/groups configurations from the original geodatabase to the new one. I'm still reviewing my custom steps to see if one of those are referencing a resource (script? .mxd?) on a file share or network drive just like what you've mentioned. Thanks for the info. 🙂

Hi all, I've been encountering this issue for a while now and I can't seem to resolve it. Every time I create a new job for the first time, a runtime error R3064 wizard pops out. The job is still created and there seems to be no wrong in the workflow as I have closed it without encountering any problem. It seems that this error message only pops out when you create the first job after opening the client application since I do not encounter it when I created the succeeding jobs. Hope you can help me with this.

Hi, This could be caused by a bad install or a corrupted jtxuiconfig.xml file. Please try deleting/renaming the jtxuiconfig.xml file under C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\WMX\10.2 and see if that corrects the issue. If not please let us know and we can continue to work through this problem with you. Cheers, Michael You're right about that Michael! Thanks!

After a couple of email exchanges with Nishi Mishra from Esri, we were able to fix it. Just deleted the config file from the AppData and that did the trick. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\WMX\10.2 Thanks Nishi! 🙂

Hi there, You are not alone Amanda. I've also encountered it today. A few days ago it's still showing but now it doesn't. Kinda weird since I haven't touched any settings or configurations even in the Administrator side. I've attached a screenshot for this.

Have you checked the cache tiles from the services directory using your browser? If not, you may want to try it. If in case it doesn't change from there, you may need to clear the cache using your admin account.

I'm still stuck with this problem and one thing I'm suspecting as the cause is a memory leak. Upon running the tool, ArcCatalog consumes up to 5gb of my RAM until the tool fails. I can't find any other similar cases over the net either. Any thoughts are very much welcome.

Hi there! Before you can share a layer package, there are two options on where you want to save your file. Make sure you have chosen the "save package to file" and not the first one because that means you're going to upload the layer to your AGOL account as you were saying. Second, tags, description and summary are required fields in creating layer package. Just put any meaningful words to describe your file and that would be good to go. You may want to check attached images for reference.

Hello, I like using the ArcGIS Topographic Basemap as a background layer for my maps, but was wondering if there is a way so that place name labels don't show up on the map. I like to add my own labels for cities and towns of interest, but find the map looks messy with the ArcGIS Basemap place name labels showing as well. I would actually prefer that the topographic maps had no labels at all. Is it possible to show just the features of the Topographic Basemap without labels? I see there is a options for Places Info int he Table of Contents but it says those layers can't be turned off when I try to click on them. Thanks. You can't remove them since it's a cache already. If there's a way to remove them now, let me know. 🙂

I have some pipe data, I used VB Script to display only attributes over 0 (pipe sizes over 0). This is the VB script expression I am using (the field name for pipe sizes is Diam_in): Function FindLabel ( [Diam_in], [ ] ) FindLabel = Function FindLabel ([Diam_in]) if ([Diam_in] >= 0) then FindLabel = [Diam_in] else FindLabel = [ ] end if End Function Question is: How do I add an " to the pipe sizes that display, ie so they label pipes as 8", 12", 10", etc? Thank you for your help. Angie Hi there! You may try doing this on the fourth line hence, FindLabel = [Diam_in] + "<two single quotes>"

Hi Josee, I think this article will help you understand how Create Random Points works. And to answer your first question, since your constraining feature is a point feature class, random points will be created at point feature locations also. So if the value you set exceeds the total number of points from the constraining point feature, it would just make sense that this value you inputted will not be honored. Please correct me if I'm wrong with this matter.

Hi there! I'm currently running ArcGIS 10.2 and I still have that option as you can see on the screenshot . That's kinda weird coz you're already in layout view but the export dialog box is still showing what it should be showing when you're in Data View. Hm?

I'd like to have Feet marks on the numbers that are associated with the divisions on the scale bar. Is this possible? How do I add them? Thanks, Tracey Hi guys! Can you please tell me more or attached an image of what you wanted to do with the scale bar. I'm not really sure if what I have in mind is the solution to your problem. 🙂 Thanks!

Hello, I have a feature class data set (of 51 points) and I'm attempting to symbolize with graduated symbols. I need to exclude about 20 of these points from visually being present on the map. The FID's of the points I need to exclude are not in numerical order as the points being excluded are based on a joined attribute field. When in Properties>Symbology>Quantities> Graduated Symbols> then click the "classify box" and then click "exclusion" I can't seem to make the correct SQL query. It works with when I do it with one point, for instance: "FID" = 43 But, I can't seem to get it to work for excluding multiple points. I've tried parentheses and quotations and different spacing and everything I can think of. I'm sure this is incredibly simple, but I can't seem to get it right. Does anyone know how to go about this? Thanks so much! GIS intern Sara 🙂 You may try using IN. Something like NOT "FID" IN (43,44,45,46,47) Don't forget to add single quotes if it is a string 🙂
