Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply! I was trying to use currentTime() in a Filter not a Field Calculator in 10.5.1. I am trying to figure out if currentTime() is supposed to be working for a Filter. The following filters do not work for me: "if startdate < currentTime()" when startdate is a datefield (but stored as epoch time). "if startdateLong < currentTime()" when startdateLong is a long. To get the above filter to work, I need 2 field calculators to turn startdate, and currentTime() in to longs then run the comparison.

All geoevent tutorials, examples and demos relate to 2D geometry. Can the Incident Dectector handle 3D geometry? (e.g. domes, cubes, cylinders, spheres, etc.) Thanks!

Hi mark, Our system requires mutual authentication via certificates. We have our arcgis servers (geoevent, server and portal) setup to require client certs to access the web pages at this time (However we still require a userid/password to log in to the ArcGIS components as we have not lashed up our LDAP implementation). To get the Spatial query processor to work (to query arcserver for a layer), I had to modify the Spatial query processor source code to add an SSL connection that incorporated the servers client certificate store and truststore (I used apache http client). However the same issue would occur if I had to query a arcserver that was outside of our domain. I am having the same issue when I try to use the 'Push JSON to an External Website' adapter. The OOB (out of the box) adapter works if I push to HTTP, but fails with PKIX errors when I use https. I used the wrong words when I mentioned 'web adapters'. I meant the geoevent output adapters and processors, not the Arcserver or arc portal Web adapter. I have corrected my geonet question Thank-you so much for replying. Linda Rae

Qualification to the above, by 'web adapters' I meant the geoevent output adapters and processors, not the Arcserver or arc portal Web adapter.

Using version 10.5 on Linux. I can fix the Spatial Query processor to work with external secure sites as the source code is available. What do I need to do to get this and other output/web adapters to work?

Thanks Chris for the reply! I have a rather complex working GEP topology at the moment that uses filters and the incident detector. I could not see a solution for configuring an incident detector or filter when a point was within X nautical miles from a polygon or line, as I did not see a radius parameter. I looked at the ConvexHull and Envelope Creator processors, but those did not have a radius parameter. The use case is that if a entity (point geometry) is 0 to X NM outside of a Geofence (which could be a line or poly), generate an incident. If there is a solution specially configured single incident detector that could process this, I would appreciate knowing this. The only solution I could think of for this case was to use a filter and a fence - the primary geofence and a larger filter that represented the radius around the fence I am trying to generate the detection of. I don't think that Track Gap Processor could help. A Point track sitting idle or not changing positions, would still be reporting its position. A track Gap would only occur if the track stopped reporting (I think). An ideal solution would be to have the IncidentDetector processor open sourced so users could simply extend it. This would allow users to create custom incident detectors and create simpler GEP topologies.

Trying to debug a geoevent processor remotely. Using Geoevent 10.4.1 on RHEL 6.x. The SDK document 'GeoEvent Developer Guide.pdf' section for "Logging and Debugging" focuses on a windows deployment only (although Geoevent can be deployed to Linux as well). This document is not dated, nor is there a reference to which Geoevent version the doc applies to, so am not sure if I am looking at a current document. The PDF references a file called 'ArcGISGeoEvent.cfg', however this file does not exist for Linux. There is however a file called 'ArcGISGeoEvent-wrapper.cfg'. There is no string called 'Uncomment to enable remote debugging', however there is a reference to '5005. Uncommented these lines and restarted. Did not work - port 5005 is not open: wrapper.java.additional.15=-Djute.maxbuffer=0xA00000 wrapper.java.additional.n=-Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=5005 What are the instructions for implementing remote debugging for a Linux deployment of 10.4.1? Thanks!

I am running geoevent in Linux and arcdesktop on the PC. Many of the tutorials reference a simulator, which documentation states "is included" - however there is no documentation where this is supposed to be, how to install or how it works. I think this may be a legacy thick client and not webbased. Does anyone have any information where in the geoevent distro this program is and how to use? Thank-you

Downloaded and deployed Kafka adaptor as per instructions. Did not appear in connector list. Stopped service, cleared cache, restarted service - still did not work. The COT adaptors do deploy with the same instructions... Looking for vplechnoy to confirm if this is broken, or if there is secret sauce I am missing - COT connector: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=067feaad95964bc5889d6f44f774b370

Hi - Am running arcsever, arcportal and geoevent 10.4.1 in RHEL 6.x Most sample adaptors/connectors deploy - IRC, COT, etc. kafka and RabbitMQ local transport components say they deploy, but do not show up in connector list (like IRC and COT does). When I import the kafka_config.xml in the configuration store, error message says that it cannot find the transport Import configuration completed with errors. Imported the connector 'kafka-text-out', however the the transport 'com.esri.geoevent.transport.outbound/Kafka/10.4.1' is invalid (it probably doesnt exist). Imported the connector 'kafka-text-in', however the the transport 'com.esri.geoevent.transport.inbound/Kafka/10.4.1' is invalid (it probably doesnt exist). Following the instructions in zip file at: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=7f94ec2a3eb944c79e98fe854d60d671 having same issue when I try to deploy rabbit mq adaptor. Seeking help...!

According to ESRI documentation: http://server.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/install/linux/about-the-arcgis-web-adaptor.htm The webadapter for portal is hard coded to use 80 or 443. Is this true? If so, why? many webservers use other ports - like 8443 for example, Some organizations many not allow 80/443 - but will allow 8080/8443. Am I misunderstanding the documentation, and I can configure webadapter to use other ports, or is using 80/443 really a hard requirement?
