Bret, I'm not sure what you mean by "join sheets organized by the day", so let me know if my answer does not fit with what you're trying to do. When you set the time properties for a layer, if will ask you if your data has a start time field or both start and end fields. You then go on to specify the interval you want ArcMap to step through the time field(s). So I believe the answer would be that you should combine all of your case data into one table, making sure the date fields are truly designated as type = date. ArcMap should be able to then help you visualize the data however you want over time (days, hours, minutes, etc...) -Matt

Gabriel, When you publish, make sure Tiled Mapping, under Capabilities, is not checked. If you publish the service with only Feature Access checked on, you will probably have plenty of credits to publish the service. Matt

Carlynne, Follow through with the procedure to embed a web map into your website. Any web map will do, since you're only using the map to get the code snippet you need for what you really want to embed. For example, the following code contains the URL to a web map in bold: <iframe width="500" height="400" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://modelcity.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/embedViewer.html?webmap=2cc323e255a142a1a6cc1e4921e055b5&extent=-108.0625,44.4824,-108.0414,44.4947"></iframe> Then, just swap out the URL in the code with the URL to the story map you want to embed. Like this: <iframe width="500" height="400" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://epro.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=6747afe907f840209be312b617910fab></iframe> You will probably want to fiddle with the height and width settings also, to make sure the app looks good in the provided space. Hope that helps. Good luck, Matt

kmooregis, How are you uploading the shapefile to ArcGIS Online? If you are in a map and clicking 'Add' > 'Add layer from file' then you will have the limitations (1,000 feature max, etc...) that others have mentioned. To avoid these limitations, upload your shapefile to ArcGIS Online as a feature service. Here's how: 1. Go to 'My Content'. 2. Click 'Add Item'. 3. Click 'Choose File' and browse to your zipped shapefile. 4. Check the box that says 'Publish this file as a feature layer'. 5. Set the title and tags as you wish. 6. Click 'Add Item'. The above procedure will create a hosted feature service from your shapefile, which you can now use in any map you want. On the other hand, adding a shapefile directly to a map only makes that layer usable in that one map, and it throws limitations at you. Always upload data to your 'My Content' area of your subscription. It's a much better way to get things done. Good luck, Matt

Gabriel, Something sounds wrong. Even layers with lots of features in them shouldn't use up many credits. Can you explain the steps you took to transfer this blank feature class from a geodatabase to ArcGIS Online? Let me know so I can try to help more. Thanks, Matt

Craig, I was able to get most of this done using Service Area analysis with the Network Analyst extension. I set up a network dataset and had it travel the roads a set distance (300 feet) away from each fire hydrant. Once I had detailed travel distance polygons, I dissolved them into a single polygon that I used to select the streets that were completely contained by this "covered" area. Then I switched the selection to get the streets that are not properly covered by fire hydrants. Barring some tuning, this should get you a layer of streets that are either all or partly uncovered by properly spaced hydrants. To handle your extra parameter of major roads, I created a separate layer of major roads and loaded that to the solver as line barriers. This prevented any travel on those features, with a possible drawback. When loading points (hydrants) to the solver, Network Analyst will snap them to the closest street. Therefore, any hydrant snapped to a major road does not get analyzed. Maybe you want that so you will know to do those in a separate analysis? I think I need more details on this issue. Regarding your "next in line" parameter, I'm not sure I understand what you need there. I will need more details on this one, too. Let me know if you'd like to connect for detailed help on how to set up Network Analyst to do this. Matt

At my regional office (and I imagine elsewhere, too) we do a lot of collaborative workshops with customers, to help them get started with AGOL. In some cases we (Esri) provision and build the organization, set up some initial groups and information products, hand the organization over to the customer, and then provide guidance as needed while they build their platform. The problem with this is, if 2 or 3 Esri staff help get an organization going, the customer loses those 2 or 3 named users by the time they take possession of the subscription. Wouldn’t it be cool if AGOL knew that, for example, user “matt2425” is an Esri employee, and thus knew to not debit a named user from the customer’s subscription if they invite me in to help? So to recap, a customer could invite Esri employees to their organization to help for a few days, a week, a month, whatever. When the problem is solved / project is over, the customer can remove the Esri employee from the organization. It would be like Go To Assist, but longer term to accommodate the way we sometimes help clients with their subscriptions. This special ‘Esri Employee AGOL User’ account would need to be exempt from the rule that your account is deleted if you’re deleted from an organization. It would also need the ability to be a member of multiple organizations at once. I feel this would be greatly appreciated by our customers. Their count of named users should be for them, not for us. Especially for customers who have less than 50 named users.
