I'm creating custom transformation files in ArcMAP v10.8.1 and currently these are being written out to the user profile local temp folder, rather than the Roaming...\ArcToolbox\CustomTransformations folder. Help indicates its a write issue and therefore defaulting to temp. I've no problem copying the gtf file from temp to the roaming folder, but this isn't picked up when I need to apply the transformation (still looking in temp I guess). Is there a way to permanently set (system variable?) where the custom gtf files are sourced? We have a large number of users that make use of these transformations, so a centralized or more easily accessible folder would be ideal. Thanks in advance for your help. Michael.

There's a great Add-In, X-Ray for ArcCatalog I just found that does just this. Along with some other great geodatabase management tools, it allows you to re-order fields for file gdb's or SDE. More importantly it honors table functionality such as attachments and cartographic representations, which can get dropped with other tools. Worth a look. Available in 10.1 or 10.2 and above. X-Ray for ArcCatalog download link.

Thanks all for the suggestions. As mentioned by Joshua I had a need to retain the table thus the truncate and append and why copy rows wouldn't have suited, at least in this case. After some further testing I did find that the da.insert was quicker with smaller tables (~10-100K records), but append won out on the large table (~9M records).

I have a sql server spatial table of around 9M points which for backup purposes I'm scripting to create a copy in SDE. I was initially truncating the SDE table and using append to re-populate which took around 3 hours. To improve performance I read about using the da.Insert and search cursors and having implemented that do have it working, but it took around 8 hours. I'm fairly new to using these cursors, so I maybe don't have this configured correctly, so any advise would be appreciated. Sample of the code is below. sql_tb = "INPUT_SQL_TB"
sde_fc = "OUTPUT_SDE_FC"
with arcpy.da.InsertCursor(sde_fc,['FIELD1','FIELD2','SHAPE@XY']) as icur:
with arcpy.da.SearchCursor(sql_tb,['FIELD1','FIELD2','SHAPE@XY']) as scur:
for srow in scur:
icur.insertRow(srow)
del icur,scur Thanks in advance for any feedback, Mike.

I recently had a similar issue with attachments and after much playing around with security on the service and sde side of things resorted to Esri's tech support. We're running AGS v10, SP5 with https as well. After much testing and elimination of the obvious, we found the problem was tied to the authentication set on the AGS output folder. To fix this we did the following. 1. Access the IIS manager on the AGS web server. 2. Expand the Sites folder then find and highlight the AGS output folder (e.g. arcgisoutput). 3. Access the Authentication option under IIS. 4. Change the Anonymous Authentication from Disabled to Enabled. Not something I would have thought to look at, but now viewing attachments with FV without issue.

I'm serving an SDE feature class as a map service where one of the fields is a type of raster. I'm using Flexviewer v3 and I've created a popup for this service, however I would also like to display the image attribute associated with each feature as part of the popup. Through the popups xml I'm making use of the <medias> tag and declaring the type of image and using the imagesource to declare the field that contains the image. So when I click on a feature inside the viewer the popup comes up and all I get for the raster is an outline box, no image. Am I doing this correctly or I guess can it be done when the image is stored as a raster type inside an SDE feature class? XML code below. Thanks in advance. [HTML]<configuration> <title>Main Title</title> <fields> <field name="Property_Name" alias="Property Name:" visible="true"/> <field name="Project" alias="Project Geophysicist:" visible="true"/> <field name="Comments" alias="Comments:" visible="true"/> </fields> <medias> <media type="image" imagesource="Image"/> </medias> </configuration>[/HTML]

Using the wildcard parameter in list features will select only the feature classes like *vw* what I wanted to do was list features except *vw* or exclude from the list once it is created feature classes like *vw*.

I've written a script that will create a list of all the feature classes in a geodatabase then have it run an analyze on each, writing out the result to a log file so I know what's been done. Problem I am having is I would like to not have analyze work on sde views, as it causes the script to fail. The views always have VW within the name e.g. WA_Her_Svy_vw_Test so they can be isolated from the rest. Main part of the code below. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mike. features = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses()
for fc in features:
arcpy.Analyze_management(fc, "BUSINESS")
now = datetime.datetime.now()
analyzeLog.write(fc + " Analyzed at: " + now.strftime("%H:%M:%S") + '\n')
