Hi, If you're a Microsoft Visual Studio junkie then Visual Studio Code is a good option too. It similar to Atom.io and its free from Microsoft. A huge plus for me was integrating a bash shell terminal instead of Windows powershell or command prompt. I use it for the bulk of my web development involving any JavaScript\TypeScript based libraries. I use Visual Studio 2017 for my ASP.NET MVC or Web API web projects. Thanks

Here's a snippet of code to get you started. Below is at the beginning of the Download_Avery.js code. If you read my comment in the snippet, it explains more. The 'labelMultiPagesPerPDF' you won't see in your copy because I created this parameter to be set in the config.json file, so I could turn the multi-page on or off. Basically, the 'pagesPerDoc' controls this. My comment also says, to set 'useVectorFonts' to true. This is a default setting in the config.json file under the 'notificationSettings' then the 'labelPageOptions' json nodes. You don't need to add the parameter to the config, feel free to hard code the changes. good luck! Mike

Yes, there is a Print Settings to Export the map as a PDF, that uses esri print web services. But there is also a built-in Avery Label generator that generates PDFs and that uses the jsPDF library. It was my fault for not being clear. Thanks

Hi Robert, The Public Notification widget uses the Download_Avery.js file which uses the jsPDF library, to help generate the PDF files. After a spending several hours on this, I was able to create a configuration setting that allows me to toggle the PDF settings to allow each page to generate as its own PDF file or have multiple pages of labels inside one PDF file. The code in the Download_Avery.js does not allow for this. So some small changes had to be made to accommodate for the toggle option. On another note... I'm really impressed with how the web app builder operates behind the scene. Thanks for your time, Mike

The default setup when using this PDF feature is that it creates a separate PDF file for each label page. For instance, if I have 45 labels, it generates 2 PDF files: Label_page_1.pdf and Label_page2.pdf. I would like to create 1 PDF file with two documents inside. For instance, All_pages_of_Labels.PDF. Has anyone tried and done this successfully? Thanks

Not knowing exactly what you are trying to perform... My last successful attempt was on version 3.XX. I was able to access some of this information by using the InfoTemplate Object (now called PopTemplate but still works similar on 4.X) during the initialization of the StreamLayer object. This allowed me use the Stream Layer object's click event: streamLayerObj.on('click', function(evt){}); The 'evt' object within the function has an 'attributes' property that provides access to this information. For instance, 'evt.attributes.MyMetaData'. It should work in a similar fashion.Good luck!

Thank you. I actually found a video on Youtube that uses the yo esri generator. So i may set my projects up similar. What I meant by item 4 is, it seems new code updates are copied into the 'client\stemapp\widgets' folder and tested through web app builder. This video is helpful in answering most of my questions. I'll post it here and maybe it will help other coders. Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Advanced Development Tools and Techniques - YouTube Thanks

Yes, I have gone this route. I didn't know about the jimu libraries though I appreciate that information. I have been using the WAB developer edition but development still seems difficult. Can you explain if you're using an IDE or coding in a test editor. Is there a framework scaffolding generator available and is it possible to use Visual Studio Code? What is the recommended coding approach to web app builder developer edition? I appreciate any information. I have been out of the loop for 2 or 3 years. Thanks

I use AGO to create some basic maps that have widgets already built. I can export the map and widgets locally where I run my Web App Builder. I have been trying to customize the widgets and make function changes. Since the widgets code is compressed and minified, it is very difficult making function changes at all. Is there a github or another way to access this code before it gets compressed to perform some hard core customization on it? The widget is call Public Information, it selects a parcel and applies a buffer zone around it, then has the ability to output a comma-delimited file of the address within the buffer zones.

the main difference between our code is. YOUR USING THE SCENEVIEW: view = new SceneView({ container: "viewDiv", map: map, scale: 15000, center: [-77.009, 38.889] }) AND I'm using the MapView. Perhaps that's where the issue is...

This may be low priority but I'll ask it anyways. This TOC worked perfectly in ESRI JavaScript 3.xx. I'm now working in ESRI JavaScript 4.0+ beta. It's possible maybe it needs to be implemented a different way but it doesn't seem to work properly in the latest JS API version. Thanks for your hard work on this. Will you build a new version that will play will with ERSI's JavaScript 4.0 API?
