I can confirm that this occurs in 10.5 though not dependably. I had two MapService layers that were doing this. For one, I was able to just move the Shape field to the end of the field list in the MXD and republish and it worked. For the second, this was not enough. I noticed that the only significant difference between the layer that was working correctly after the fix and the one that was not was that I had an alias on the OBJECTID field as ESRI ID. When I removed the alias and republished, it worked. I also had another MapService layer that was not showing any of the fields after the Shape field (but was at least only showing the Shape field once). Once I moved the Shape field to the end of the field list in the MXD, all the fields showed up in the REST endpoint. I have been a bit frustrated with the number of silly bugs like this in 10.5.

Is there a current version of the following AGS REST API Documention? ArcGIS Server REST API This documentation is for 10.1, and I haven't been able to find anything comparable for 10.2 or 3. I am probably just looking in the wrong places, so I am hoping someone out there can help. Thanks!

I feel like this must be possible, but I am just missing something somewhere. Say I have a MapService with a single layer named "Counties". In a web application, I utilize the AGS REST API's Dynamic Layers capability to add two additional layers to this service that just resymbolize those same counties based on demographics--perhaps population and income. I would then have three layers showing up in the layer infos for the service, but all three are named "Counties". They are just symbolized differently. I can add a different label to the drawing info via the dynamicLayers param which is helpful, but I can't figure out how to use the dynamicLayers parameter to change the actual layer names. Now there are obviously a hundred ways to change the name on the front end or using middle ware... but this seems like pretty basic functionality that the API must have and that I'm just missing somewhere. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Windows authenticated users can view content but cannot edit in Mobile Content Server. When attempting to "add item" (for example) they are kicked back to the login screen. Users are in an administrative role in AGS. We had no luck with any windows user (even sysadmins). The AGS "Primary Site Administrator Account" was the only credentials able to make edits to content. I had noticed that when the user was kicked back to the login, their domain was missing from their username. This made me wonder if the Mobile Content Server was just somehow losing the domain. To test this, I set the Primary Site Admin Account as the same as a windows account (e.g., Windows User: MyDomain\MyUser with MyPassword; AGS Account: MyUser with MyPassword). I made sure the windows account had no permissions to AGS at all. I then logged in with the windows account and was able to edit content without any problem. This seems like a pretty big issue. Any chance we can get a fix or at least a workaround? -------------------------- ArcGIS Server 10.2.1

Yes, I can confirm that this appears to be NIM-095653. I was able to register a version using SQL authentication without any problems. I also think I came up with a work-around. I noticed that the connection string that the registration window was creating was wrong for the windows user: SERVER=MyServer;INSTANCE=sde:sqlserver:MyServer;DBCLIENT=sqlserver;DB_CONNECTION_PROPERTIES=MyServer;DATABASE=MyDatabase;USER=MyUsername;VERSION=Domain\OwnerName;AUTHENTICATION_MODE=DBMS This is obviously wrong since we are not trying to use DBMS authentication. In trying to figure out what could be confusing it, I started thinking about those oddball double quotes that show up around the windows user name when looking at the version (I assume that is to deal with the back slash after the domain??). So I went into SQL and removed and readded the windows user to the Database and used a custom "User name" instead of just duplicating their "Login name". I recreated the version to make sure it was using this new user definition and then succeeded in registering the database with ArcGIS Server. The new connection string looks like this: SERVER=MyServer;INSTANCE=sde:sqlserver:MyServer;DBCLIENT=sqlserver;DB_CONNECTION_PROPERTIES=MyServer;DATABASE=MyDatabase;VERSION=CustomUserName.VersionName;AUTHENTICATION_MODE=OSA As expected, it is now using OS authentication instead of DBMS. Thanks for your help, Matt

We are having problems registering a version of our GDB with ArcGIS Server. The version is protected and is owned by the ArcGIS Server account (Domain\arcgisserver). The ArcGIS Server account has read/write permissions to the database in SQL and its default schema is dbo. We have been able to register the default and other versions that are owned by the dbo without any problem. It is only when we try to register the version owned by the ArcGIS Server account itself (or actually even any other user) that we get the "version not found" error (see below). From looking at the error, it almost looks like some sort of schema issue... but why and how do we fix or troubleshoot it? Also, the version works fine in ArcGIS Desktop and posts and reconciles fine. The only problem we are having with it is registering with AGS. Error: Machine: xxx.xxx.com [MyDataSourceTitle: The connection property set was missing a required property or the property value was unrecognized. Version not found ["Domain\arcgisserver".Domain\arcgisserver]] ArcGIS Server 10.2.1 Enterprise SQL Server 2008 R2

I had high hopes for this at 10.1 but have been unable to accomplish it. All I want is to do is serve a joined table out through ArcGIS Server and edit it preferably via ArcGIS Online. Serving a feature class with a relationship class built on it has been the closest I have been able to get, but it appears ArcGIS Online does not support Relationship Classes. I could write some code to accomplish the task, but I'm looking for a more "Out of the Box Solution". The "Pie in the Sky" goal would be for the Table to reside in a non-SDE SQL Geodatabase... but this doesn't seem possible without converting the geometry into SQL Spatial, since the Spatial Data Server (SDS) doesn't support SDE data and ArcGIS Server doesn't support non-SDE data. Anybody have any solutions?

I would like to be able to detect if the currently checked out ArcGIS license is Borrowed or not. I can get the license type from aoInitialize and whether the license is concurrent or fixed via the registry, but I can't figure out how to determine if it is borrowed. The only way I've found is to check the size of the ArcGIS TSF file in ProgramData/FLEXnet (file size is around 29kb if a license is borrowed and 35+ if it is not), but this is obviously not a good long term solution. Any ideas? ArcGIS 10.1 and Windows 7

Is there a public service that we could test against? Though it isn't secured, I don't think my client would appreciate me giving it out... I will PM it to you though.

We too are having this problem with ESRI Flex API 2.5 using Flex 4.6 (in Air 3.1). We have a tiled basemap in wkid 3434 (NAD_1983_StatePlane_Arkansas_South_FIPS_0302_Feet). Geometry service is returning correct measurements, but the scale bar is around 3.27 times greater... it would thus seem to be some sort of feet/meter conversion issue. The problem does just seems to be with ESRI Flex API as measurements have been correct everywhere else I've checked such as ArcMap and ArcGIS Online. Anyone have any thoughts?

Wow... It's always something simple. It seemed like everything I read regarding skinning issues such as these said to make sure that the library was merged, so I didn't even consider doing the opposite. Setting the ESRI API's link type to external seems to have done the trick. Thanks, Dasa. I appreciate you guys taking to time to answer questions like these--especially so very quickly!

Flex 4.6 ESRI Flex API 2.5 We are in the process of creating a library of components that we commonly use in multiple apps. This library contains a reference to the ESRI Flex API and so does the (AIR) application we are using the library in. The problem is that the skinnable map components (navigator, scalebar, infowindow, etc.) all cause the dreaded "Error: Skin for myApp.WindowedApplicationSkin2.Group3.contentGroup.appContainer.mapManager.map.StaticLayer13.InfoWindow273 cannot be found." The custom library and the ESRI Flex API are both set to be "Merged into code". And both the custom library and the main application have the compiler argument "-keep-all-type-selectors=true". As a work-around, we've been able to manually set the map.scaleBarSyleName and map.navigationStyleName to css styles that just refer back to what ought to be their default skins, but we've been unable to find a work-around for the infoWindow. Anybody have any ideas on what's causing the problem or at least how to manually set the infoWindow style? Thanks in advance!

This would be a great solution, kenbuja, if I were assigning the symbol to a specific graphic, but I would rather assign the TextSymbol to the entire GraphicsLayer (and yes I know I could cludge together a solution by looping through the graphics... but I would extend the class before doing that). Sorry for not specifying.

Is there a way to use a graphic's attribute in a textSymbol's HTMLText property? I know that the you can add an attribute via the textAttribute property, but I would like to have an HTMLText that equals something like "Here is one attribute: {attributeOne} <br> Here is the second: {attributeTwo}". Any ideas (other than extending the textSymbol class)?

It looks like the Create Enterprise Geodatabase tool is not working for me. It's the "Authorization File" input that's causing the problem. If I manually attempt to browse and add my authorization file, it doesn't show up. It looks as though the prvc is not a supported file type in the dialog. I can't even add the path to the prvc in the textbox without it giving me an "Invalid file type" error. Am I doing something dumb or is this a bug?
