Make it possible for user to import a web map from the Insert Toolbar/import map (where you can import an mxd) rather than just from the Project Pane/Portal/MyContent.

Web maps are not listed in the browse window when trying to import from the toolbar Insert/Import/Portal/MyContent. However, it is possible to import a web map from the Project Pane/Portal/MyContent. Seems like this is a bug.

I'd like to see an add x y coordinate tool for feature layers in AGO web maps. X Y cords in lat long decimal degrees would be excellent. Users using new Esri tools such as trek2there that requires lat and long fields from the attribute table as input https://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2016/12/22/introducing-trek2there/ would benefit, and AGO users wouldn't have to add x y cords in desktop only to republish a layer with x y cords.

Hi Brian... I realize this is an old post, but in case you're still looking for this functionality. It does exist. AGO admins can create Groups that "allow members to update content". Currently only admins can create and own this type of group (I'd like to see Esri allow non-admins to create and own these types of groups too). If you share a web map to the group, other members of the group would be able to make changes to the web map regardless of who owns it.

Esri has a demo tool for emailing AGO group members https://nwdemo3.esri.com/agoladmin/emailgroups.htm. This is a useful tool that would be even better if we could compile a distribution list by role rather than by a group. For example: I want to be able to send an email notification to a target group of AGO members in my organization who have the ability to create content. I could add them all to a group, then use the email tool - but its problematic to ensure the group membership is always current. If I add new members to the organization and forget to add them to the group, then they will miss the email. In this case I'd be less prone to missing a member if I were able to create an email distribution list by selecting members according to their current role. It would also be excellent if Esri could incorporate the email tool into the AGO platform.

Great idea to add a privilege that allows users to publish a tile layer from a tile package. Our workaround to allow this while minimizing users ability to burn credits by accidently publishing a tile service in ArcMap or AGO, is to use credit allocation. Credit allocation has no impact on data storage. We allocate each user only 1 credit, and give them the privilege to publish tile layers....and we educate users on the preferred workflow to publish a tile layer from a tile package.

We are a government organization and greatly support this idea too. There are many cases where staff with AGO accounts need to be able to share solutions (AGO maps, apps, Survey123, Collector solutions) with people who do not have an AGO organizational account. The lack of a guest or anonymous login limits the success of using ArcGIS as a solution. This idea could significantly improve our ability to use AGO for more projects.

I have a business case where I would like to be able to create a custom user viewer role in AGO that allows the user to only view content that has been shared to a group(s) that the user is a member of. I don't want the use to have access to any content shared across the organization. I only want them to have access to content in specific groups. This would help protect the security of content shared to the organization in cases where we issue temporary accounts to contractors, consultants or stakeholders with whom we want to provide accounts for specific projects and they do not require access to the entire organization. Currently there is no way to limit a user from viewing content shared across the organization.
