A coworker and I have also been encountering this error. I have tried clearing the temp folder, loading and reloading, etc. Does saving closer to this disk root mean saving closer to the drive itself, for example, if saving to a C:\ drive saving as close as possible to the C:\? Also, our login names in the office have spaces between the first and last name, and my coworker was wondering if that might be causing an issue? However, she has successfully run HEC-GeoRAS models and exported them in the past.

I am trying to export HEC-GeoRAS data for HEC-RAS. When I attempt to export the RAS data, the process begins and once it gets to "Creating export workspace" I get the following error message: "Failed to create intermediate ESRI XML file!". The last message before the "Creating export workspace" states "Intermediate XML file name is: C:\Users\michael hross\Desktop\GIS2RASTmpFile1.xml" and the GIS2RASTmpFile1 is created in whatever destination I choose; however, the file size is 0kb. I have tried emptying my Temp file and running the process, moving the folder it is typically saved under to different drives, quitting and reloading, and nothing has worked so far. A coworker thinks that perhaps the fact that our user names have spaces between first and last name might be causing the error, and she is trying to get hers changed. However, I also know that she has used HEC-GeoRAS successfully before. If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to solve my problem. The BasinHeader Table was being generated but not added to the map, so I had to manually add it to the dataframe and then select in under Data Management under Parameters.

I've been trying to prepare a HEC-GeoHMS model for input into HEC-HMS. When I attempt to do the "Map to HMS Units" I am able select the different layers for the respective options available, but when I hit okay an error message comes up saying "BasinHeader Table could not be found!" The respective length/area_HMS columns are added to the subbasin and river layers but all the values are Null. Anyone know what is wrong? I've tried looking for the BasinHeader Table but have been unable to find it.

I have been trying to get it to work and now the following is happening: I went into the prj file to set the units and the Z-unit to METERS and 1, respectively. I tried to calculate slope again and it gave me the same result; however, now after trying to find the slope the spatial reference changes to <Undefined>. I changed the spatial reference back, fixed the prj file (since it undid what I had changed) and then tried calculating slope again. The error still occurred and then it reverted the spatial reference back to <Undefined>. In case it may matter, the original raster data I have been using is from CGIAR-CSI SRTM 30m DEM.

I have been using ArcHydro and HEC-GeoHMS to analyze a watershed, and everything has been running rather well until I started trying to calculate slopes. Both ArcHydro and HEC-GeoHMS give me the error "The dataset does not have spatial reference. Please specify a valid spatial reference!". All of my layers are in GCS_WGS_1984 so I do not understand why it is saying this.

EDIT: I figured out that I need to enable it in the extensions under customize, problem solved. Thanks. I have a 6 month access to ArcGIS, and according to the ArcGIS Administrator I have the Spatial Analyst installed an authorized. I am trying to use HEC-GeoHMS but when I try to do anything it tells me that I need to "enable Spatial Analyst license and try again". Does anyone know what I need to do? Thanks.
