Found the solution. We are logging into ArcGIS Pro using our company's ArcGIS Online account to get the license for ArcGIS Pro. We then sign into our client's ArcGIS Online account using a different user name and password through their account. We set this as the Active Portal. ArcGIS Pro checks for permissions on the feature service using our company's ArcGIS Online account rather than the active portal. The solution is to have the client create a group and share the feature service with that group. Then add the account you get your ArcGIS Pro license from to the client's newly created group. The other option is to check out the ArcGIS Pro license to work offline and then the authentication typically pops up asking to add in your credentials for the client's ArcGIS Online account again.

We access client data through ArcGIS Online. Their data is hosted on their internal Oracle server but is passed through their firewall and published to ArcGIS Online as a Map Image Layer. This way, we can access their latest data on their server through ArcGIS Online but are unable to edit it. Recently, I have found the benefits of ArcGIS Pro to edit and manage feature services on ArcGIS Online. I have been showing these benefits to coworkers and getting them to use ArcGIS Pro. Unfortunately, this one Map Image Layer is inaccessible by my coworkers, except a few (for reasons unknown). I have no problem accessing it on ArcGIS Pro. My coworkers can see these layers on ArcGIS Online by accessing it on a browser. So we can rule out a permissions issue with ArcGIS Online settings. All other layers published and hosted by ArcGIS Online show up with no problems. I have a ticket open with Esri and my internal IT department and we are running out of ideas as to why this problem would occur. Some of the testing we have done: 1. Tested all the versions of ArcGIS Pro (Basic, Standard, Advanced) 2. Updated ArcGIS Pro to the latest version 3. Tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10 4. I logged into ArcGIS Pro into the client's ArcGIS Online account on one of their laptops (it failed) 5. I logged into their laptop using my windows credentials and they logged into ArcGIS Pro into the client's ArcGIS Online account (it worked) 6. They logged into ArcGIS Pro on my laptop while i was logged in (it works) 7. Added all the Esri ArcGIS Online sites as Trusted Site 8. Added my coworkers Windows Profile to groups I am in (it failed) (My IT claims that our Windows User Profiles have the same security settings) 9. Checked the ArcGIS Pro logs (holding ctrl-shift-M) There is also a feature service that was published in a similar fashion as the Map Image Layer, and that is still inaccessible by my coworkers. We all have admin rights on our laptops. I have attached the very generic error messages that pop up. Has anyone experienced this issue as well? We are hoping to resolve it, but are running out of ideas of what to investigate. Any ideas are greatly encouraged!

I run a lot of Python tools and it's faster to export all the data from AGOL into file geodatabases and run the analysis that way rather than running the script while it's pointed at the feature service. To do this, I export the feature service into a file geodatabase using the feature service's rest end point. An interesting issue I have been coming across is that when I export a polygon feature service to a file geodatabase and a feature has a hole in it (please see screenshot), the polygon no longer works with select by location. But when I do the analysis using the feature service, the select by location tool works properly. I had to select an additional point in the feature class screenshot to show that it's able to select one of the polygons but not the one with the hole in it. Any thoughts?

We are currently using AGOL for all our field work, which involved detailed manhole and pipe inspections. Each time a field crew goes to an inspection, they are supposed to edit the feature and fill out information on the asset. They then take a photo or two and attach it to the feature. We are working with over 5000 assets and this is just for one small area. Whenever a GIS analyst works and wants to create a local copy for editing of the feature service, our only option is to zoom into a small area and check that area out. To do bulk editing of multiple features, the entire area needs to be checked out which is taking our analysts forever. I was hoping that Esri could implement a "Create Local Copy for Editing without the Attachment" option or "Create Local Copy for Editing with Links for Attachments". I did notice Batch Attribute Editor widget and will look into it to see if this will fulfill our needs, but ArcGIS Desktop/Pro has so many additional tools that we may need to use.

Unfortunately if I am the only user in the group, I cannot leave the group. And this is only a method for leaving an organization, not deleting an account. It doesn't seem like there is a way to delete an account.

I created a user and now want that user to be joined to a different ArcGIS Online account, but it is stuck with the Dummy Organization it created. I also have a previous work ArcGIS Online account that I would like to delete, but I cannot because I no longer have access to that work email and recently changed jobs. But I think that it's tied to my.esri.com while ArcGIS Online is tied to my new work organization's account.

It turned out to be a certificate error/IIS error. Within IIS on the internal server we had the SSL Settings set to Accept for ArcGIS Server but Ignore for Portal. So when I switched it to ignore for ArcGIS server, everything worked.

Yes. One webadaptor is called arcgis for arcgis server. The other is called portal. Both web adaptors are on the same internal server where ArcGIS Server and Portal are installed. ArcGIS server and its web adaptor have the default Esri configuration which makes accessing it through the reverse proxy more perplexing.

We have been trying to configure and set up ArcGIS Server and Portal and open access outside our firewall using a reverse proxy. Right now, Portal is accessible from outside the firewall through our reverse proxy but Server is not. We have configured and tested the certs and those seem to work fine. The reverse proxy seems to work fine because we can see Portal outside the network. ArcGIS Server seems to be configured correctly because we can access the server and features from inside the network as well as from the outside server which has the reverse proxy. But as soon as we attempt to access the server from outside our network, we get a http error of 502.3. Any thoughts, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Portal, ArcGIS server and both web adaptors for server and portal are on the server inside our firewall. The outside server only has the reverse proxy configured. I can answer any questions if anyone has any.

I had the same thing. I hope you have resolved the issue by now, but in case someone else runs across this issue, I have linked this article. The first comment really explains what needs to be done (for those who have difficulty getting to update the identities) 41622 - ArcGIS Server Site is not configured. Code: 500 I then make sure that the password for the arcgis server account hasn't changed on the local server. Once I have verified that, I go into the identity store and update the User Store Configuration to this: { "type": "BUILTIN", "properties": { "adminUserPassword": "password", "adminUser": "arcgisserveraccount" } } The ArcGIS Server account and password are what you defined when you first set up the ArcGIS Server My issue is caused by a Windows Domain setting, upon a reboot, the domain clears out the local user (arcgis server account) and replaced it with my domain account. The best solution is to add the arcgis server account to your Windows Active Directory, rather than repeating this every time the server reboots.

Thanks David! I just needed to configure the cert to be signed. If iExplorer shows a warning saying it is an untrusted source, then Mobile Project Center would not work. I walked through this tutorial multiple times, but it finally worked (once I entered the right port) Self-Signed Certificates on IIS 7 – the Easy Way and the Most Effective Way | Demystifying The Code

Has anyone configured ArcGIS for Windows Mobile SSL on an internal server? I currently have a pseudo reverse proxy set up to get around our internal and external firewalls. Whenever I try to connect through SSL on Mobile Project Center, it gives me the error in the attached screen shot. The text is: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. Any thoughts on why Mobile Project Center can't connect would be great. I'm assuming it's because I need two different certs and MPC is getting confused by what server it's connecting to.
