Thanks to the community for raising this back to our attention. We looked into this and below is a summary of our findings: - The issue appears to be related to Adobe Illustrator's font-rendering engine and how it processes text from other programs like ArcGIS. We find this is not unique to AIX export workflow, and PDF exports also exhibit the broken tracking problem in Illustrator only. Additionally, we find Adobe Acrobat does not alter text tracking like Illustrator does. Its worth noting that SVG exports are not impacted and retain text appearance/ tracking well, however characters are separated and could impact edibility. - The fonts used seems to have a role. Its reproducible with certain fonts consistently - when used with labels or annotations, with or without halos. - This issue isn't related to halos, as we were able to replicate it with non-haloed text as well. - The workaround listed in the original post works well for AIX workflows. In some of our tests we found re-typing '0' in the tracking input box yields consistent results, as selecting '0' from dropdown does not always work. For these reasons, this issue cannot be addressed in ArcGIS alone and we will need to work with Adobe to gain more insight. From our end, we have reached out to Adobe Illustrator community in this related post for clarifications of this behaviour. In the meantime, we will continue to leave this idea open for additional insight. Thanks to all who have responded and shared their observations. If anyone has additional info, please feel free to share here. Thank you, ArcGIS Maps for Adobe team.

Hello @DanFaulkner3, @EmmanuelDuchene The latest update includes a fix that addresses the issue of signing in using an ArcGIS account that is tied to a Google based credential. Additionally its worth mentioning that using AIX files in the extension does not consume credits. For detailed information regarding tools that use credits please see the product functionality matrix. Hope this helps. Thanks Madhura

Hi @wayfaringrob Thanks for your question. BUG 151731 was related to the text object not appearing correctly in Illustrator when in Pro its defined using jscript label expressions. The resulting labels in Illustrator were not legible, and appeared truncated or completely missing. The idea for halos is still relevant so we'll keep it open for now and evaluate it for a future update. I hope this helps. Thanks Madhura

The latest update (version 3.4) of ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud released today. This update includes key enhancements and stability fixes to address feedback from the community here and through Esri's support channels. Improvements to both key plug-in workflows - that enable working with ArcGIS Pro AIX files, and direct map-creation in Illustrator with ArcGIS organization content are included. Below is a summary. For more details, see this blog. Improvements to the performance of opening AIX files exported with ArcGIS Pro and directly syncing a maps in Illustrator with default mapping profile. Improved layer organization of Bar chart elements added with ArcGIS Pro layouts Added support to directly use OGC layers such as WFS, WMS and WMTS for map-creation in the plug-in The plugin is now supported on a Windows 11 OS and latest Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop versions. Please note, the order in which you upgrade the Adobe apps and the plug-in is important. We recommend upgrading Adobe apps first, then reinstalling the plug-in. See updated system requirements before you begin. Additionally this update also includes usability, accessibility and general stability fixes. Here is a list of BUGS addressed with this update BUG-000147897 Cannot log into plugin in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop using Google login credentials BUG-000151415 Improve Pro-AIX Processing time (can’t open large files) BUG-000151731 Some ArcGIS Pro label expressions result in unexpected AIX results BUG-000144936 ArcGIS Pro layouts AIX exports with SVG images obscure other layers in Adobe Illustrator BUG-000154524 The Counts and Amounts point symbology on a feature layer appears unexpected when synced in Adobe Illustrator. Syncing a map from the plug-in results in a blank file. This issue was addressed earlier by the Adobe Illustrator team, read more about it in a related community post. We encourage you to download and upgrade to this latest version at your earliest convenience. We appreciate this communities support and feedback and look forward to staying engaged to continue improving Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. Sincerely, ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud team.

@MikelSavage Thanks for your question. From my knowledge, the personal use subscription comes with a user type that ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud supports. If you experience any sign in issues with your Personal Use ArcGIS account, please feel free to start a new thread, we can take a look.

In an effort to streamline licensing of ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud, we recently announced the retirement of the monthly Plus license. Here is a quick summary of what you need to know: The monthly Plus license is no longer available as a new purchase. If you are currently using a Plus license, you will be able to continue using it through April 2023. After April 2023, you will need to use an ArcGIS user type account to access the extension. ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud is not retiring. Only the Plus license option is being discontinued. This will not impact those already using ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise to sign in. For further details please see announcement linked above. Download the latest version to stay up to date with fixes and enhancements. ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud team

Hi @PerryHamilton2 This is an expected message when an org admin has blocked ArcGIS apps for compliance reasons. See this help topic https://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-adobecc/latest/install/requirements.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_4277A3EA8F034DCEAF2D0E060EBBD4EB Could you please verify with your IT or GIS admin if they might have configured this setting? The link above will guide you to an admin help page for managing blocked apps. Only org admins have permissions to make changes to this setting. I hope this helps. Let us know if this isn't the case for your ArcGIS org, we might need to investigate further.

Hi @Cartogreg Thanks for checking. Could you please try to clear out Maps for Adobe local configurations? On a mac its located here /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/, Rename the ‘m4cc’ folder and the application will recreate it when it starts, let's see if that helps. Also of the most recent update the extension can be used with Illustrator running natively on M1, rosetta is not required for Illustrator. See this help topic for more info. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-adobecc/latest/install/requirements.htm Let us know how it goes.

Hi @Cartogreg Thanks for reaching out, can you provide some more info to help understand the setup some more - Could you please share if either or both Illustrator and Photoshop are running in Rosetta mode? Since yesterday, has anything changed on this device, version of Adobe apps or the extension? Are any of the other tools active in the panels in Mapboards, for instance, are you able to draw a mapboard even thought not signed in?

@NicoleSulzberger apologies for the delay. Could you please share some more context about the masking setting? If you are able to share a Pro map package with the masking setup that would be tremendously helpful. Since this is a separate idea please create a new community post with information about your map so our developers can look into it. Thanks again for reaching out.
