Hi, I've just installed 2500 - looks good! Given the previous discussions I was surprised to see that Bing maps basemaps are still available and work. I have never obtained a key from Microsoft as far as I know. What's the deal? Thanks Mike

Hi, I don't think there is enough information here to be able to diagnose the problem. If possible could you share your webamap and post the URL to it? We can then investigate why it does not open, Thanks Mike

Hi, I'm afraid the answer to both your questions is No. Mike My original comment is not strictly correct. A colleague point out that this will be possible using ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 which is currently in Beta. He told me that: ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop includes the ability to open a web map and get the feature data for all note and feature layers it contains. So for example, uploaded shapefile layers in web maps automatically get converted to file geodatabase feature classes. Mike

Hi, I'm afraid the answer to both your questions is No. As is often the case the solution to 1. is just around the corner - ArcGIS Server 10.1 will support editing history for feature services. And becasue the data is served through a feature service it would be stored in an enterprise geodatabase meaning that the data could be exported into any supported format using ArcGIS Desktop. Mike

Hi, No you are not missing anything - this is not a supported operation on any platform. I'd suggest doing a reshape instead as documented in the editing help Mike

Hi, Another possible cause of the issue is if you have turned on security (SSL enabled) your organization. Silverlight on which Explorer Online runs does not allow a mix and match of http and https - it's one or the other. If you have SSL turned on it means that you are running your organization under https and as such you will not be able to add http services in Explorer Online. The converse situation also applies. To check your settings login to your account in arcgis.com and then edit settinga > security. See the screenshot Mike

Soundsto me like it is unsupported at present or is a bug. I'll make some enquiries and if I find out more information I will post back on this thread. I'd also suggest you post the same question on the ArcGIS Online Forum in the context of the ArcGIS.com map viewer. Mike

Hi, Does the service defintion for the service contain the following information: Time Info: Time Extent: [some value, some value] Time Reference: N/A If not then Explorer Online won't be able to display the time data. Could you also try in the arcgis.com map viewer as well - does it work there? Mike

Hi, There can only be 1 map owner - the workflow you describe is the only option in this case. There are a couple of things to do to help preserve the "ownership" of the original public map: If you decide to make the map public then call it something like "Copy of..." and add a note in the description where it came from Don't make your map public but rather share it with only the group interested in it Unsurprisingly this arcgis online model of map ownership has led to many instances of the original map being copied and saved multiple times so I wouldn't feel bad about it - it's just the way it is Mike

Hi, Please provide a few examples of addresses that 'maps them crazy'. We can then investigate the problem further. Also i presume that when you say 'input some data' you mean that you are importing some data containing addresses from a csv file. Is that correct? Mike

Hi, I've recovered the map to Dog Parks Recovered, id:d06c39cb7528460f8ce4e4453bf51abf Please check that your first slide is correctly located as this information was missing, i re-added it by centering the slide over the dog park data. In order for us to try to understand how this problem happened i'd be grateful if you could answer the following questions: Esri has two free web mapping offerings - the map viewer at arcgis.com and Explorer Online. Did you create the map using Explorer Online and only use this product for editing and viewing your map and presentation? If you used a combination of them both please describe your workflow. On a separate point I don't think you'll get very good performance from this map given the amount of data that you have imported - it's pushing the application to the limit for imported data. If it's an option for you I would recommend migrating to use ArcGIS Server services instead. Regards Mike

Hi, Sorry to hear that you've been having problems. As mentioned elsewhere in these threads, we are pretty confident that we have fixed the issue that causes maps to become corrupt occasionally - this will be rolled out in the next release which is due out imminently. I've fixed up your map, called it Kellyann Murphy Recovered Map and saved it '>here: - Open it and save it to your user profile. Delete your bad map and i'll then delete the one i created for you Mike

Hi, First a question... Is turnover for regions of Italy point or polygon data? If it's polygons then i'm afraid I don't have any helpful suggestions. If it's points and contains the location as x/y coordinates then the following should work for you - 1. Load your CSV data into a Google Fusion Table 2. Create a url for the table, based on its unique ID. For example - http://www.google.com/fusiontables/api/query?sql=SELECT * FROM 703548 3. Import the CSV and choose By Url. 4. Save the map Everytime the map is opened the CSV will be imported directly from the fusion table. Whenever you update your table, the changes will be reflected in the map. Hope that helps Mike
