Hi, JTedrick-esristaff I am trying to publish a survey created by survey123 connect to our portal . I am getting an error Creating Feature Class Failed error 500. I refered to this post earlier Error code 500: Creating Feature Class Failed when publishing to Portal It says that there is a maximum limit of 500 fields when publishing to portal. I have 300 odd fields. I have earlier published surveys with similar amount of fields. However I am not able to publish this survey. Kindly provide some insight as this is a survey that needs to be published immediately. With Regards Srinivas

Hi I have a polygon segment within which there are many buildings scattered. There is a particular attribute in the building feature class which mentions the no of connections available in the that building. So I want to split the polygon based on say 300 connections. I.e, if the polygon segments has 700 connections within it, i want to divide that segment into 3 different polygons each having count 300,300,100 with 300 being the max. Also I want that particular attribute updated with the latest count after splitting. So is there a way to automate the above scenario in python or a tool available in arcgis?? I dont want split by attribute as it creates individual feature classes. Preferably split the polygon based on the count and update the attribute in the same feature class Awaiting a response regarding this issue. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have already registered the app id for survey123 connect using the website you mentioned. I found out a way as a workaround(definitely not the right approach). I mention a wrong url (the portal url with a typo), ignore the ssl, it asks for domain credentials, use my credentials, then replace the url with the correct one and add url. Then it works. However if i just add the portal url and ignore the ssl, it gives me invalid client id 500. With Regards Srinivas Santhanam

Hi, We are using survey123 configured with portal 10.4. When I try to configure the mobile app to work with our portal (which can be accessed externally) it says invalid client id error 500. I observed the same error when I tried to configure Survey123 Connect with the same portal url. So I registered an app id , and everything seems to work fine now. I have also registered an app id for survey123 website. So my question is , do I have to create/register another app id for the mobile app? If yes, can someone provide me the url since I cannot find one (for the mobile app). If no, then is there any other way to add the portal 10.4 url for the mobile app. We are using portal 10.4 and it can be accessed over the internet as well as intranet.

Hi, I am currently using survey123 connect (2.4.6) to publish a survey containing device information same as the samples provided (https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b5c06df3211e4018a446071ddb388324 ). I have configured survey123 with Portal 10.4 and am using a named user to access and publish the surveys through 123connect and the web designer. I am able to see that the details get autopopulated in the Connect window . See screenshot (Error2) But after I publish it, when I try to access the survey on the browser , it gives me an error, FormLogicError: Could not evaluate: property('deviceid'), message: Function "{}property does not exist. See Screenshot (Error1). In the form, I could not see any property function mentioned in the help (types tab) I had read somewhere that information like deviceid, subscriberid etc are currently not supported but seem to wonder that it is present in samples in survey123 connect, and it also works in the preview of connect. Am I missing something?? Is there any other way to capture the device information from where the survey is collected? I have attached the excel sheet, and the errors as shown. Expecting a reply soon.

Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply. By using cascading selects it would be similar to an attribute query, i. e filtering those districts belonging to a particular state that the user chooses. which would further mean that a user could select any state and can be in direct conflict with the location reported by the device. I am afraid, I would not want that. Is there any other way to incorporate such spatial queries? With Regards Srinivas Santhanam

Hi, I have been looking into survey123 and its capabilities and I am truly fascinated by it. Currently I am building a survey which consist of state and district fields So when I enter the location in the survey(geopoint) , I want to autopopulate the state and district fields without manually entering the values (especially while creating a dropdown for district which would have 1000's of values). I wanted to know whether this can be possible in survey123 as it would drastically reduce the workload. I read about cascading selects or repeats in many threads , but somehow nopt able to get a hang of it. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out with this issue. Thanks and awaiting a response

Hi, We currently have a set of points with lat long as a geojson input for the geoevent service. This service basically transfers the geoevents to a file to our HDFS. We are using the hadoop connector for geoevent. I have attached the link that we followed step by step. GitHub - Esri/hadoop-for-geoevent: ArcGIS GeoEvent Server sample Hadoop connector for storing GeoEvents in HDFS. We are able to create an output file in hdfs, however it is empty. We are not sure why it is creating a file but not writing the contents into it. We are using hadoop connector 10.4 and the hadoop version 2.4.2 I have attached the screenshots as follows We are stuck with this issue for quite a while. If rsunderman-esristaff or someone could help us out in this regard it would be helpful. With regards Srinivas

Hi, I am having problem related to NULL values on date column after querying in HIVE. Procedure Our aim is to transfer the feature classes from a geodatabase and copy it to HDFS using hadoop toolbox for esri. So the steps are we create a json file using features to json and then create a table in hive using the create . Then we copy it to hdfs and then start querying on hive to retrieve the field values. Problems I am facing I am having issue with the date fields as mentioned in the screenshots. While creating a table I tried using date as the data type in one create statement and string as the data type in another create statement . In the former statement after copying to hdfs and while querying, i am unable to retrieve any values and it shows Failed with exception java.io.IOException:java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.hadoop.hive.serde2.io.DateWritable cannot be cast to org.apache.hadoop.io.Text. In the latter statement when I used string as the datatype, it shows some random values as expected and when i tried to typecast the date column as date I am getting null values. I have attached the two screenshots which contains the script and the results with the associated errors. The date error png is the one with date as datatype and date string bhuj is the one with string as datatype. Kindly help me with this issue as I am not able to proceed further in my attempt to migrating the feature classes to hadoop

Hello all. I really need this help. I am new to javascript api and I am using aptana studio to develop some applications. I have gone through the instructions mentioned in the arcgis for javascript help page. I did not understand by the sentence where they have told to drag the code assist file into my project. do they mean to reference it in my js file or html file. I tried it but I am not able to get any code support, there is no change. If some one could atleast send an screenshot of the reference path used in your code to enable the code assist /intellisense I would be be grateful since it is tedious to go back and forth from the application to the webpage to see the different methods available etc..... I appreciate your help

hey, thanks. yes i figured that out, it is working. I have another query.Percent field is obtained by dividing the rooftops_twohundred by the sum of the rooftops_twohundred (I used it as an expression to calculate field tool). I know it is a fixed number (9040), but since I may change the attributes and the sum will change. so i do not want to change the sum value again and again in the expression. is there anyway where I can use the sum as an expression in the calculate field tool rather than changing it manually everytime the sum changes? I do not know the basics of python script or VB. so I am not able to find an expression to calculate the percentage. thanks for your help

Hi, I am a very new user to GIS,and currently I am having a problem running Model Builder, I am trying to build a model which iterates over unique values of a field and takes each of these values to calculate another field. I am not able to get different values, but infact I am getting the same value for each row of that field. My aim is to select a value for the field rooftop_twohundred and then convert that value into percentage by creating a new field Percent. this has to be repeated for all the points (there are 14718 of those). I tried to build a model but the field percent shows the same values. I am not able to proceed furthur beyond this point, and I am very new to GIS. Can anyone please help me out. i have attached the screenshot of the at tribute table and the jpeg image of the model. Can someone help me out, I would be grateful for that
