Is there a link I can generate for a map I've created in ArcGIS Online that when using my smart phone will open up automatically in the esri ArcGIS app? The map I've created is shared publicly so everyone may view it.

Hi, I'm running a two way replica with the following system components. ArcGIS Server 10 SP1, back-end SQL Server 2005 on a Windows 2003 R2 Server, The parent replica is housed on an SDE enterprise geodatabase and the child replica is housed in a personal sde geodatabase. We run monthly synchronizations sending changes in both directions. We also have a job setup on our sde server for a nightly compress and update of statistics. The feature class used in this replication setup is registered as version with global ids. The replication runs fine for a few months, and then periodically we will receive the error: Synchronize Replica failed Version not found [DBO.SYNC_SEND_33_8] Version ont found [DBO.SYNC_RECEIVE_REC_33_2] I have verified that both the local machine with the child replica and the parent replica on the server can see each other via the appropriate output directory. Any ideas as to what might be causing this issue? The only way we've been able to resolve the issue is by recreating the replica which I would really like to avoid. I've reviewed the best practices white paper for achieving an effective compress with versioned replicas, and am currently implementing those recommendations.

Jake, There are two feature classes tied to this map and geodata service. One is a road network with approximately 400,000 arcs and other is a point feature class with approximately 2,000,000 records. When I attempt to download a local copy I make sure to keep the extent to very few records (no more than 10-20) I checked the size of the compressed zip folder when I have replication enabled and it is under the limit for sending the data. I created a brand new feature dataset in my sde database, registered it as versioned without the option to move edits to base, and created a brand new map service and geodata service from it. The version that these feature classes are pulling from is public. I tried downloading a local copy and still received the error "Create replica failed. The requested capability is not supported". I've also tried expermenting with other feature classes in my database with a corresponding map and geodata service with the same results.

Jake, thanks for the response. The client can access the output directory. What's interesting is if I enable the replication option the create local copy for editing executes perfectly. What's odd is if i watch the output directory while it's trying to download the local copy the compressed zip file does not get generated but I do see the uncompressed images being generated upon request.

I have a geodata service created from a map service. On the geodata service I have the Query and Extraction capabilties enabled, and on the map service I have the map, query and data capabilities enabled. However, when a user attempts to extract a local copy of the data for editing they receive the error: "Create replica failed. The capability is not supported". I reviewed the ESRI documentation and it notes that users should be able to download a copy without the replication option enabled on the geodata service. The version that the map and geodata service are based off of are public. What could be causing this error? ArcGIS 10 SP1, ArcGIS Server.Net 10 SP1

Kevin, Thanks for the reply. I apologize however, as I should have been more specific. I'm trying to make the sub layers visible in the layer list widget within the flex viewer as can be seen in the below image. The layer list image on the left has the layers collapsed, while in the right they are expanded by default. I'm trying to expand them by default so first time users realize that they are there.

Is there a way to make a layer, in the layer list widget have sub-layers visible by default? Would this be altered in the main application configuration file or in the widget configuration file itself? I'm using flex viewer 2.4. Thanks

Hi, I've setup a query task that calls features from an ArcGIS Map Service and populates an mx datagrid with it's attributes. I'm trying to write code so that when a user selects an item in the data grid that it zooms to it in the map. Any suggestion about how I would go about this? Thanks!

I'm trying to sync a two way replica and receive the following error. "Synchronize Replica failed. Underlying DBMS error [Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0: Incorrect syntax near ')'.][LIBERTY911.DB0.hgac911_esn] The workspace is not connected." Anyone encounter this before? I'm running ArcGIS 10 SP1 with personal SDE. Thanks!

I changed the symbology for a map service and restarted the service. I adjusted the colors of the map service, but now when I use the Legend Widget it still shows the old symbology. I've cleared all of the cache from internet explorer before I load the application. I'm using the out of the box flex viewer. Any suggestions? Thanks.

In ArcGIS 9.3.1 there was an ArcSDE tool that you could add into ArcCatalog to administer feature class permissions. After it was installed it would appear as a tab in ArcCatalog next to the Preview tab. Is there a version of this available for ArcGIS Desktop 10? Thanks

I have a map service that is dynamically labeled as remove duplicate labels. When I use the locate widget while this map service is on; the resulting red circle is placed directly on top of my label. I've adjusted the extent properties of the locate widget, but this has not helped. Is there a way to get around this in either the locate widget, or the map document that I am running my service from? Thanks! -Martin

Thanks for the reply! I recently was able to run a clip function on some aerial imagery, but I tried running a hillshade on a LiDar image service that we have. It ran to completelion, but kicked out a grey blob. When I use the identify tool to measure a pixel value, it only returns 255 whether I click on or outside of the image service? Is there a setting that needs to be selected that will enable Spatial Analyst functions on image server services? Thanks again, Martin

Can geoprocessing be performed on image service services? I noticed when a service is created that all of the pixel values are displayed as NoData. This would lead me to believe that you can't use tools such as spatial analyst with an image server service. Is this correct? TIA!
