I use the Python methods Truncate and Append all of the time to do this. Granted, you can't have versioning in place on the SDE as truncate won't work with versioned feature classes.

After working in Pro for a bit you tend to gather a bunch of open tabs all over the place (Export, Symbology, Attributes, Popup, Labling, etc). The ability to wipe all of these away with the 'Reset Panes' options is great but there are only three to choose from (Mapping, Geoprocessing, Editing). It would be great if you could customize this to show specific tabs that you want, including custom Add-In dock panes that match particular workflows. Thanks!

In ArcGIS Online you need to add your app to your content. Content > New Item -> Application Then choose 'Web Mapping' -> enter the URL -> Next. Then enter the details to the app and then add it to your content. Once it's added click 'Settings' on your newly added item details page and scroll to the bottom. Click 'Register' and enter the redirect URL (usually just the main URL), then click 'Register'. This will then generate a client ID that you use in the code. Here's a sample app: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/identity-oauth-basic/ Follow the links on this page to learn more about OAuth for the JSAPI. Lastly...you will also need the oauth_callback.html page a the root of your app url. See the ESRI github docs here: https://github.com/Esri/jsapi-resources/blob/main/oauth/oauth-callback.html Mike

Hi all This should be a no-brainer but for the life of me I can't seem to remember/find where to alter the default email message that is sent out to new users. Is this still possible? Thanks! Mike

Hello! I have looked everywhere for a simple solution...I am trying to allow a user of a simple javascript 4.x app to select certain features in a feature service on the map to a KML file. Has anyone done this? Thanks!

With my SOE I don't get the '..is not supported' error until I acutally call the SOE extension from an app and I can see the error in the dev console. The SOE deploys fine and I can start the service with no problem. With the workaround, the SOE deploys fine but the service will not start due to the 'CLSID...' error. Also, it is from a fresh 11.1 VS template and .Net Support is installed on Server. Stumped...might need to wait for the update (hopefully a patch sooner than later).

Hi I tried this workaround and it didn't seem to work. The SOE deploys on Server successfully but it throws an error when the service that uses it's capability is attempted a start: CLSID for Type MapServer is not registered @SusanHmel__DOIT_ are you able to successfully use the Microsoft.Data.SqlClient in your SOE after your workaround? Thanks!

Should the .NET CLR Version for the WebAdaptor pools be set to 'No Managed Code' since they are dependent on .Net Core? After the upgrades (and the patch) I am just noticing that they are (both Portal and Server) set to v4.0 still.

Unless I'm completely missing it, there doesn't seem to be a link to download the patch anywhere on that patch info page. Does anyone see it anywhere?

I just got notice that: BUG-000158629 ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) 11.1 may stop responding to requests while under load. Has been updated to 'In Product Plan' -- so that's good. Thanks to all for the help and workarounds!

Either way I get 'System.Data.SqlClient is not supported on this system' or 'Microsoft.Data.SqlClient is not supported on this system'. I thought it had something to do with the same issue that Pro was seeing with 3.0 where it migrated to 'Microsoft.Data.SqlClient'. Any ideas?

It definitely seems like that did the trick...3 days now without a freeze/crash. All systems and services seem to be operating normal.

Hi All I have been fighting the exact issue that @Scott_Tansley outlined for about 3 weeks now (with support) and no solution. Everything has been working fine for the last 8+ years until we upgraded from 10.9.1 to 11.1. Just random crashes/freezes that only seems to affect Server...Portal still functions and the overall webserver is healthy. Incredibly frustrating that it just stops responding -- with no obvious reason. I just found this thread last night and I'm testing out the IIS config suggestions from @LukeSavage . Fingers crossed! I'll report back. Thanks!
