You can use Multipart To Singlepart tool from Data Management tools\Features\Multipart To Singlepart to creates a feature class containing singlepart features generated by separating multipart input features or You can use Explode on the Advanced Editing toolbar to separate a selected multipart feature into its individual, component features. This would be useful if you needed to alter the attributes of one of the elements in a multipart feature. Click the Edit tool on the Editor toolbar. Select the multipart feature you want to separate into individual features. Click Explode on the Advanced Editing toolbar. The parts of the multipart feature become independent features, with each one being assigned identical attribute values. Regard, Kelvin.

Thanks Ken Buja I have download and install it and it is listed in the addin manager. If I go to customize and choose commands I can follow the path of Biogeography Tools and I can see the tool there. From there I have not been able to figure out how to actually use it.

I think the output will be Poly #1 overlaps with Polys 2 & 3. also Poly # 2 also overlaps 1.... Because they are all in the same layer, but if there is a solution for Poly #1 overlaps with Polys 2 & 3. only it will be much better. Thanks for your response.

Hi, Help! I tried to find an answer to this question but I didn't seem to find what I was looking for. I have a layer with more than 5000 polygons . I would like to know which polygons overlap each other for all 5000 and get the output table like this, Polygon Overlap 1 2, 3, ... 5000 1, 6, 8 Is this possible? How can I do this? Thanks.
