Not sure if this is the right place for this question, we are looking at using branch versioning instead of traditional versioning and noticed a big limitation. With traditional versioning we create a child version from Default called QA/QC and then another child version from QA/QC called Editor. This allows our organization to have a QA process before data is reconciled to default. With Branch versioning this workflow is not possible, versions can only be created from default prohibiting the organization from having a QA version. Am I missing something to allow this middle version to be created? If this is in fact a limitation, is there any thought to allow a version to be created from a version in branch versioning?

No, that is what is confusing. I originally wrote the application for a project I was working on, with my webservices a left click to identify works as expected. Using the other individuals webservices has different behavior with the same code.

Trying to help a friend with some code and I can't seem to figure this out, when i am trying to identify something in a webservice the popup box does not appear with a left click, if I right click it does. Has the same issue with a different layers or map services from their server. I watched the traffic in Fiddler and same request is being sent with a right click and a left click. Just no pop-up with a left click. Maybe 1 out of 20 I will get a popup with a left click. Code works great when I use a map service from my server. view.when(function() { view.on("click", executeIdentifyTask); identifyTask = new IdentifyTask(parcelURL); // Set the parameters for the Identify params = new IdentifyParameters(); params.tolerance = 1; params.layerIds = [0]; params.layerOption = "visible"; params.returnGeometry = true; params.width = view.width; params.height = view.height; }); // Executes each time the view is clicked function executeIdentifyTask(event) { // Set the geometry to the location of the view click params.geometry = event.mapPoint; params.mapExtent = view.extent; document.getElementById("viewDiv").style.cursor = "wait"; identifyTask .execute(params) .then(function(response) { var results = response.results; return results.map(function(result) { var feature = result.feature; var layerName = result.layerName; feature.attributes.layerName = layerName; feature.popupTemplate = { // autocasts as new PopupTemplate() title: "<b>Your property is elligible for sanitation service: Day Week", content: "<b>Pickup Day:</b> {DayA_B}" }; return feature; }); }) .then(showPopup); // Send the array of features to showPopup() // Shows the results of the Identify in a popup once the promise is resolved function showPopup(response) { if (response.length > 0) { view.popup.dockOptions = { buttonEnabled: false, breakpoint: false, position: "bottom-right" }; view.popup.open({ features: response, location: event.mapPoint, }); } document.getElementById("viewDiv").style.cursor = "auto"; } }

Just wanted to share a project I was working on for one of the departments in our organization. They had the need to track laptops in the field, the laptops are toughbooks with integrated air cards and GPS. I used a python script to access the GPS COM port and transmit the collected data to geoevent. The receive XML on a rest endpoint input connector processed the data and then outputted to a feature class using update a feature output connector. I used another python script to run the first python script in the background as a windows service and autostart then the laptop was started. If anyone wants to reproduce the project, below is a link to the github project. GitHub - quick6black/Python-GPS: GPS logging

I did this using a custom extension. Open sourced the code, it reads and parses emails from a CBYD system GitHub - quick6black/CBYD-Email-for-geoevent: GeoEvent Processor input connector to Read and parse CBYD emails

I downloaded and successfully installed the reverse geocode adapter in GeoEvent. There is no documentation explaining on how to use effectively. I added the reverse geocode calculator to a point feature service and set the output to a text file and no geoevent definition was created when data was added. Has anyone been able to get this to successsfully work? If so what process did they follow. thanks in advance,

Hi Scott, thanks you for the tip, I checked for new versions and sure enough there were a bunch of additional anonymous versions created. I changed my database connection to one of newly created versions and there was my data. Appreciate the feedback thanks, Aaron

I am using ArcServer 10.3.1 with the latest version of Collector. The data I am editing is a point feature class in SDE (SQL), the feature class is Registered as versioned Archiving enabled Editor tracking enabled Attachments enabled. I have sync enabled in the feature web service and have successfully taken the data offline to make edits. When I come back to the office and sync the data over WIFI, Collector syncs without any errors. Here is where I have the issue, the data does not sync, in the feature class there are no new features. I tried on another empty feature class and still no data, I tried to sync just a geographic feature with no attachments or attributes, still nothing. Any help would be appreciated, I tried ESRI support. They created a ticket and have not responded yet. I need to get some field work done relatively soon.

I was looking over the script (wrote this 2.5 years ago) and it was creating a layer file from the csv, also it was copying the layer file to our webserver and it was not updating the file but replacing it. There is definitely a difference in our workflows. I am not condoning using a shapefile or layer file for a webservice, this script was created as a temporary solution during a hurricane that hit our community. We have since then moved on to more advanced processes to support our workflows.
