Ok, so the combination of both of those fixes seems to have solved the issue. Checking the "Description and legend panel can overlap map location" seems counter intuitive, but it worked! Thanks. All seems ok now. Fingers crossed

Tried resetting again per your instructions and now it is back to the first one just being shifted left. Maybe I need to delete those three tabs and add again?

Thanks! That seemed to synchronized them again! However they are all still too far to the left...not the custom config. that I set on the first map....

I am working on a tabbed layout story map and can't seem to synchronize the maps. I have checked the "synchronize maps" in the settings, and no matter which map I organize in the first position, it doesn't seem to synchronize the maps. The first map always is shifted too far to the left, no matter which one is placed first. Any thoughts? https://bellingham.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/?appid=3f7fd7176b0a4d689badc2fabf1f53c8

I'm very new to web scenes, but I feel like this is a pretty obvious thing...How do you configure the pop-ups in a web scene? There seems to just be an on/off for pop-ups but no configuration screen. Same for symbology....there is no option for unique symbols. No filter options either.

Is anyone else having a problem with Main Stage Actions in their map journal? I created a map journal and have several Main Stage Actions in my side panel that brings up a web map. However, the usual "BACK" button that shows up at the top of the Main Stage is not showing up to get the user back to the original image/map.

Ok thanks! We will update the template next week when our administrator is back. In the meantime I have reverted our links on various sites to the arcgis.com map journal so that it works in the meantime. We usually hide the long ugly urls. Most people access the map journal from www.cob.org/historytours , but good to know the shortcut on the index.html , that will make direct linking much easier! Thanks for all your help!!!

Ahhh...interesting and maybe a clue. We transferred over the map journal to host on our server (iqmap) to implement a few things (adding locate me button, changing mobile view text from "back to map" to "back to image". (http://www.iqmap.org/storymaps/map-journal/cob/index.html?appid=c36de675c0154899accf20641f432d86 ) There wasn't really a way to get rid of the old map journal hosted on arcgis online (http://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/?appid=c36de675c0154899accf20641f432d86). which is the one you are viewing and doesn't have the issues... So, seems to me the problem lies with the customization in our template? And how/where did you located the older map journal? the arcgis.com map journal as opposed to the iqmap.org map journal?

I recently edited the pop-up configuration of the web map that feeds my map journal. The web map functions and looks fine when I view it alone, but when I view it through my map journal, it says "Something went wrong the map did not load correctly". I have tried editing my map journal and re-pointing the main stage to the web map, but it just sits there saying "loading" until if finally just bails out. Any ideas? All of the other instances that reference the web map in the map journal are also not functioning, and have lost their custom location configurations and labels. Here is the map journal:http://www.iqmap.org/storymaps/map-journal/cob/index.html?appid=c36de675c0154899accf20641f432d86§ion=3 and here is the web map that is supposed to be showing/functioning: http://bellingham.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=906ad59170c74afda13139abde4b7b3d attached is a pic of the "loading" stallout when I try to edit the mainstage:

Thanks Gregory! Yes, we are soon to be releasing an audio/field version of the tour that is based on the Map Tour template. The Map Journal History Tour was/is meant to be taken from tablet/desktop at leisure, as it is so rich in information...however I noticed when one of our local non-profits "tweeted" about the map journal, that a lot of people might enter the map journal from a smart phone (viewing it in "mobile view"), and I am brainstorming if in fact the map journal could be used for our field tour (we could add in the audio control to the map journal) instead of having the two applications...I am impressed with how well the Map Journal does function from a smart device! Thanks for your help -Kate

Is it possible to easily incorporate a Locate Button on maps in the Map Journal? I only see options for showing Legend and Overview map in the configuration. I would really like this Bellingham, WA History Tour to be usable in the field, but without the Locate Button, will be a bit less user-friendly.

Thank you so much. Yes, not very well documented, but I probably should have tested on a smaller batch before switching the album ;( We have moved to hosting them on a webserver.

I have a Map Journal that I put together with images from Flickr. These images were provided by our Museum and I was under the impression that once they were loaded into the Map Journal, I could turn my Flickr settings on the albumn to "Private". The museum does not want people easily searching these images, etc. Turns out, the images need to be public in Flickr as now all my links in the Map Journal are broken and display the Flickr "Image not available" message since turning them "Private" in Flickr. And even more frustrating, when I turned the album back to "Public", the images in the map journal that pointed to Flickr are still broken. So, I have resorted to hosting the images in a web folder and linking to them via URL (Museum feels better about this option). HOWEVER, when I go into edit mode in my Map Journal, I can re-point all the images in the side panel with no problem. But when I re-point the images (static images) in the main stage, there is no error saying that it didn't' work, but the images do not show up. See #1 - #3 in the Map Journal: http://bellingham.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=c36de675c0154899accf20641f432d86&webmap=f2ca764b299349cfa48a06039f2fa036 http://bellingham.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=c36de675c0154899accf20641f432d86&webmap=f2ca764b299349cfa48a06039f2fa036 I'm already really bummed to have re-point all of these images (almost 100!) from Flickr, but even more bummed that it is not working to re-point with no helpful error messages Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!
