Hi, we have data stored in SQL Server 2008 64 bit, and arcsde 64 bit 10.03. we published a map service which includes a join (a feature class and a non spatial table) with "keep only matching records" option. All looked good, however when clients try to use Find operation in REST API, it returns "no result" regardless of the keyword. I tested publishing same scenario from personal geodatabase, and it worked! I also tested same data from SQL Server using Arcgis 10.1 Pre-release , it worked. So, is this a bug in Arcgis Server 10.0X or is there something wrong with configuration etc? Has anybody experienced a similar behaviour? Searching the forum revealed that there was the same bug with find tool in Arcgis Desktop 9.3 (which was fixed) in the past. NIM012496 - Find tool does not return any records from joined fields, if Join is done with 'Keep only macthing records'. Thanks

Hi Tomas and Daniel, Did you manage to get this issue resolved? I think there's been a couple of releases of the ArcGIS profile for Enterprise Architect since you first posted here. It may be worth retrying with the latest release (9.3 Build 931). The updated pdf tutorial might be of help as well (http://www.sparxsystems.com/bin/arcgis-enterprise-architect-uml-modeling-tutorial.pdf). Either way let us know how it went, and we'll try post a solution for others that may have encountered this problem. Ben i downloaded that version and having "type mismatch" error when tried to import xml file.

as ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer serves images not features like featurelayer, you cannot interact with objects on the map. So you need to send your query manually to your service after click or similar event. when you get your results then you can show popup manually and populate it with your result features, attributes etc. check this example http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/demos/find/find_popup.html Hope this helps

thanks for the response. yes, we get the same exception for GET and POST methods, when the filter is used. I presume that it works with BBOX key in KVP as there is no such element (://example.com/wfs?service=WFS&version=1.1.0&REQUEST=GetFeature&BBOX=-71.00,42.00,-72.00,43.00..........). But using KVP is not an option as we are writing complex query filters.

As far as i know PropertyName element for BBOX was mandatory in WFS Filter 1.0.0. However it shouldnt be mandatory in 1.1.0. therefore following filter should be valid and be processed correctly in 1.1.0 but not in 1.0.0 <ogc:Filter>
<ogc:BBOX>
<gml:Envelope>
<gml:lowerCorner></gml:lowerCorner>
<gml:upperCorner></gml:upperCorner>
</gml:Envelope>
</ogc:BBOX>
</ogc:Filter> however i get exception from WFS (Arcgis 10 SP2) without <ogc:PropertyName>...</ogc:PropertyName> <ows:ExceptionText>The expected xml element PropertyName was not found.</ows:ExceptionText> is there a configuration for this or is this element mandatatory in ArcGIS Server WFS?

UPDATE to previous message; I had massive problems with IE recently aswell. So here just a short hint: .... 2. avoid to use this tag or similar on top: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content=".........." /> ... is seemed to be the solutions to this problem even without meta elements.

This works for us: In IE go to Tools>Internet Option, and in the General Tab click the Settings button against Browsing History. Then check the 'Every time I visit the webpage' option. Mark. how can you do this on your clients machine using JS? anyway; we are having this problem in IE9. Mode is MODE_SNAPSHOT. Basically refresh() reads data from cache instead of querying the service. For example Mark's solution works but there is no way to force users to select that option in their browser settings. we added <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"> <META HTTP-EQUIV="CACHE-CONTROL" CONTENT="NO-CACHE"> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1"> elements in our html file. it helped solving that issue in some cases, but not always. more oddly; same code works in one page, but wont in the another. in order to determine the issue, we also tried removeAllLayers() and adding them again to replicate refresh() with success. application works well on all other browsers.

i am having a very similar problem. feature services are secure and using proxy for the connection. All works fine in IE9, Chrome and FF including editing etc. however symbols are not showing up on the screen in IE8 and IE7 for featurelayer. when i check the request using fiddler, i can see that IE8 and IE7 are requesting images from secure services without proxy. eventually it gets redirection from server and doesnt show . i tried your solution folks, but no joy. any idea? by the way i am using Javascript API 2.3 and AGS 10 SP2.

ok I found something at least. If I enable attachments for a feature class which is not registered, and then if I register that as versioned, versioning for both are working fine. It means sde registers both tables using same rule. But if I enable attachments for a versioned layer!!!!, it uses default registering option which is "move edits to base" unchecked. so SDE should at least tell me that feature class is registered and cannot enable attachments orr it should tell me that this situation will happen. Am I correct?

we have versioned tables in arcsde sql server geodatabase (version 10 SP1 64 bit on SQL 2008). while registering as versioned we selected move edits to base option. it is working properly. after edit session system is moving edits to business tables and emptiying delta tables as required. however if we have attachments enabled for same feature class, attachments wont be moved to business tables after edit session until we compress the database. So A and D delta tables of attachments are keeping records. as far as i can see from table registry, object_flags are showing values of versioned layer without move edits to base option for attachments, although related layer holds move edits to base tables option. is this behaviour expected, or is there a specific reason for that?
