I deleted the ESRI folder in both the Local and Roaming profiles to no effect. Anything else I should delete? Should I restart the computer?

This is really disappointing. The capability in ArcGIS and in ArcGIS Pro 1.1 was not good enough and instead of making it better the solution was to get rid of it. I can see many uses to exporting models as scripts even if they don't work perfectly. Prototyping to the the logic of a tool (that is how I used to use it), having a text ".py" file that easily editable to be used as a scheduled task. Some of the workarounds recommended work, however I really would have liked to see improvement of the software rather than a loss of capabilities. The history tab does not seem to work for me on ArcGIS pro 2.2. If it worked I would have been able to copy the execution of my model as a a python snippet. Please ESRI can you help? Respectfully, Ovidio Rivero

Yes, and error message that would say "inconsistency between field type and default value" and the feature class would have been priceless here. Still I like this tool very much.

Got it to work! Thank you! When I saw your message yesterday I had SettlementSrf, in already. I used your spreadsheet to double-check what I was doing to get the last two in. Thanks again. I had used this tool before but never had these many problems with it and this showed me some ways to troubleshoot it I did not know before. Ovidio

Steve, Thanks for your advice. I haven't fixed it yet but I am down to only 3 feature classes that give me problems: SettlementSrf, StructureSRF, and StructurePnt. The problem now does not seem to be the subtype. I am looking now at the default values for every field to see if some thing similar is happening. I am assuming the error is, like in the case before, because its trying to coerce a text value into a numeric field. Do you have other suggestions other ways of troubleshooting these last feature classes? Thanks, Ovidio

Got it, I noticed that this morning and fixed it, and it is still bumming out when trying to import. The Validate tool reports no errors, only style warnings about field names too long to export to shapefiles. I went and looked at all the default subtype values and that was the only one I could find with a text. Maybe there is another field that should be integer but has a text value instead? Thanks, I will keep looking. Ovidio

Steve, The DefaultValue for the subtype has the code in the subtypes area too. It is still giving me the error. I am able to open the xml as spreadheets in GDB Xray but I cannot import my changes to a gdb anymore. When I try it I get the attached. Ovidio

I looked on the Datasets spreadsheet for HypsographyPnt and I don't see what you are describing. It has a DefaultValue of 100355. Is this defined again somewhere else? Thanks, Ovidio

Here is the file. My current theory is that an escape character got introduced somewhere but I have not figured out how to remove it yet. I have this theory because if I use the Import Using Geoprocessing option it is crashing at a list of countries where there are some foreign characters but the ones I have looked at are completely valid in UTF 8. Therefore I am thinking I am getting a bogus carriage return. Thanks, Ovidio

I tried this too. I even closed the catalog tree so that I only had the contents window available. I am able to export out and import back in other databases. I think I am using the tool correctly and the error is probably something I introduced on the spreadsheets and the xml but the error message is so cryptic that it does not help me troubleshoot the problem.

Hello all, I am having a very similar error to the one shown on this thread. The error says: "Xml Import Error: Type Mismatch. (Exception from HRESULT:0x002005). DISP_E_TYPEMISMATCH)) This happens when I try to import the xml schema. I have validated it until it has no errors. I have also tried the workaround about the about the spatial reference described on this thread. I have set it via the Options menu and by selecting a feature dataset on the database. I have also looked for empty worksheets on the spreadsheets but no success there either. I am using Arc 10.2.03348 and version 10.2.2 of the add-in. Any ideas? Thanks, Ovidio

Yes, I've been using Export to PDF and I like it but I have noticed that the pdf files for the same maps exported using TerraGo are smaller and TerraGo also has some additional functionalities that don't work on pdfs exported using ExportToPDF. The two export options are implementing the GeoPDF specification slighly differently. When I gave my maps to some users they tried to use the TerraGO toolbar in Acrobat and their comment was "this is not a true Geopdf". It would be nice if the TerraGo option was available in Arcpy. Do you think it may be available using ArcObjects? Thanks, Ovidio

I have the terrago extension and I like the additional functionality it provides but I don't seem to find a way to use python to export using the TerraGo geopdf format. Within the Arcpy functions I can use ExporToPDF and I can keep georefernce and values but it is not a true TerraGo geopdf. Is there a way to use terrago functionaly in python? Thanks,
