@OwenGeo, Thank you for listening and taking this idea into consideration. The main idea is to have a page editor similar to what you have in Microsoft Word so you can tight up instructions nicely. For instructional purposes, we want to limit as much as possible the amount of scrolling and utilize "white space" on the screen to our advantage. So, being able to align photos and text tightly is very useful. Regarding photos, yes, we can modify the size in other programs, but it's difficult (or at least not intuitive) to predict how they will appear when published to the story map. The back and forward between publishing the image to see how it displays on the story map and editing in another program is very time consuming. Sometimes the photos will appear blurry because the size is too large, but smaller options are not available now with the new story maps. Regarding text, being able to use lists and styles is not efficient with the current tools we have. There are many other text editor capabilities missing that would be great to have. Below is an example using Word and Story Map for the same set of instructions. It would be great to be able to resize the photo to a customize setting (like we do in Word), and also be able to fill the space on the right with text. I hope this helps clarify. Thank you again for considering the idea.

We are using story maps for instructional purposes for our GIS workshops. However, both the text editing and photo resizing capabilities are very limited. We would love to have full functionality back: - Capability to resize photos to different ratios - More editing text tools - More aligning options - More fitting options for photos

I have a user that cannot share any items (web maps, story maps). The options to share (Everyone, group) are gone and even the content view is missing the icons (private, group, public). I checked her profile, which is same as the other 5,000 users I have in my organization (I am the admin). Any ideas? She is using Chrome

Hi Owen, I understand that. But if I use other Google sites that we've created, then it works as it shows on the 4th and 5th stops of this map journal: http://clemson.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=65c48c9a9a6144568d31b4ccfc627d87 It seems new google sites cannot be embedded but old google sites still can. We just want to be able to show data sources. The students have also uploaded the table as a pdf to arcgis.com and tried to embed it, but no luck. Do you have any other workaround? Thank you in advance, Patricia

Hi Owen, Thank you for replying so quickly. Really appreciate it. We are trying to embed a google site which we have been able to successfully embed many times before. Here are the links: https://sites.google.com/a/g.clemson.edu/alt-tansp-in-clemson/ https://sites.google.com/site/alttranspinclemsondatasources/ None of those are working in either a cascade or map journal. Any advice is very much appreciated as we are trying to publish these for our final projects due next week.

We've embedded websites on story maps for the last two years without many issues (especially when changing https to http). However, today we were not able to embed webpages into the map journal or cascade. Also tried with Chrome and Firefox. Have there been any security changes to browsers that don't allow for this option anymore?

Hi Miguel, Thank you for your reply. The goal is to work with large datasets and perform intensive analysis and processing. I do no have any use for web applications, just pure analysis of large data or hundreds/thousands of geospatial files. For example: a process where we have 25,000 raster files and we want to reproject them, aggregate fields, and calculate some statistics. The process in one desktop can take up to 3 months. If we can distribute the process ( for example, using traditional high-throughput computing), we can run the same model in just hours. Let me know if this makes sense or you need more details. Regards, Patricia
