Layer transparency isn't working on Windows and Android devices. We can set the transparency in AGOL and it will work but this applies to the entire map service we've added, we want it to work on individual layers. Specific devices used: Android phone: Moto G (3 rd Generation) and the OS version is 6.0. Windows phone: Nokia Lumia 735 and the OS is Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2

In ArcGIS Pro we have an issue where connecting to the database takes ages and sometimes doesn't work at all. We're using an ArcSDE 10.3.1 SQL Server database. It works fine in ArcCatalog/ArcMap etc. Thanks, Peter.

Actually, when I try to do it in SSMS with Windows authentication using my user login I get this SQL error message: Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUSE LOGON'. Previously in SSMS I have been connecting with an admin user, which was working fine. Thanks, Peter.

We've created a view in SQL Server Management Studio but are getting an error message when viewing in ArcCatalog: The only thing unusual about the view query is that it is joining data from a Linked Server. We don't think it is a permissions issue as the user has permissions to display data from the main table and from the table reference via the Linked Server. Thanks for any help, Peter.

Hello, I'm trying to get the ArcGIS routing service to work through the proxy from a Javascript API app. In the proxy config I have the following setup: <serverUrl url="http://route.arcgis.com" matchAll="true" clientId="xxx" clientSecret="xxx" rateLimit="50" rateLimitPeriod="10" ></serverUrl> And I've setup the log file for reporting on proxy connections. In the log file I see: w3wp.exe Information: 0 : 2014-10-24 12:29:01 http://route.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/Route/NAServer/Route_World/solve?f=json&returnDirections=true&returnRoutes=false&returnStops=false&returnBarriers=false&returnPolygonBarriers=false&returnPolylineBarriers=false&outSR=102100&directionsLengthUnits=esriNAUMiles&stops=%7B%22type%22%3A%22features%22%2C%22features%22%3A%5B%7B%22geometry%22%3A%7B%22x%22%3A%22-9811218.095255703%22%2C%22y%22%3A%225126606.098535776%22%2C%22spatialReference%22%3A%7B%22wkid%22%3A102100%2C%22latestWkid%22%3A3857%7D%7D%7D%2C%7B%22geometry%22%3A%7B%22x%22%3A-9812193.264436342%2C%22y%22%3A5128099.7029343285%2C%22spatialReference%22%3A%7B%22wkid%22%3A102100%2C%22latestWkid%22%3A3857%7D%7D%7D%5D%2C%22doNotLocateOnRestrictedElements%22%3Atrue%7D&callback=dojo.io.script.jsonp_dojoIoScript29._jsonpCallback w3wp.exe Information: 0 : 2014-10-24 12:29:03 Matching credentials found in configuration file. The browser calling it returns a runtime error. If I manually call the oauth2 page with the correct details from the server running the proxy then it works fine and returns a token okay. Please could someone give me any advice on how I can further debug this? Thank you, Peter.

Hi Jake, Thanks for your reply. I tried doing that and got an error about self intersection so it looks like that was what was causing the issue. When you do Copy/Paste in ArcCatalogue you get the same error. I removed the problem record and retried Copy/Paste and it worked fine. I don't understand why the CopyFeatures_management tool doesn't report any errors though and it looks like it has completed correctly. Also not sure why it copies across a different amount of records each time you run it, I would have expected it to be a consistent amount. Thanks again, Peter.

Hello, I've been using a Python script to try and copy a dataset from ArcSDE 10.1 Oracle 11g database to a local 10.1 file geodatabase. The dataset contains 10,997,525 records. Using the arcpy.CopyFeatures_management tool I'm not able to copy the entire dataset across. My first attempt copied 8,568,846 records and my second attempt copied 9,411,659 records. There are no error messages reported so it looks like it has copied the entire dataset correctly. This is a polygon dataset I'm trying to copy. I do have a line dataset with more records (30 million +) that copies all the records across correctly. I've also tried using the ArcToolbox tool 'Copy Features' and it has a similar problem. Thanks, Peter.

Thanks Mike, I think I'll open a support call about it. It's odd because I don't see any errors in Chrome and it looks as if it has posted a new record successfully: addResults: [{objectId:571696, globalId:null, success:true}] 0: {objectId:571696, globalId:null, success:true} globalId: null objectId: 571696 success: true deleteResults: [] updateResults: [] but then when you go to do an attribute update on the new record it gives you the response: addResults: [] deleteResults: [] updateResults: [{objectId:571696, globalId:null, success:false,?}] 0: {objectId:571696, globalId:null, success:false,?} error: {code:-1, description:Update for the object was not attempted. Object may not exist.} code: -1 description: "Update for the object was not attempted. Object may not exist." globalId: null objectId: 571696 success: false

Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply, I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.1 SP1 at the moment and tried it using latest version of FireFox and Chrome. I've figured out that if I move an item I can get it to refresh in the database if I then edit any of the attributes - it's not ideal but works okay. Still having problems adding new records though. Like I said, editing existing features is working perfectly. Thanks again, Peter.

Hello, I've having problems adding records to a feature service through ArcGIS Online. They appear to be added okay and the attributes can be set but it doesn't get written back to the database at all. If you refresh the map after a while the record has disappeared. Editing the attributes of existing records updated the database immediately but moving existing records doesn't update correctly either. I am wondering if it is because this is a secure service, I have another service which is unsecured and it allows me to add new records which get written back to the database successfully. If you try moving a record in this service it doesn't update it again though. I am using a feature service with ArcSDE 9.3.1 on Oracle 11g. Thanks, Peter.

This happens to me too, I have to close ArcMap to stop it from runnning even if it finished succesfully. There must be a way to stop this? This is using ArcServer 10 and ArcMap 10 too.

Hello, I am currently trying to get some data into a Geoportal instance so that the bounding box can be searched for. At the moment I am only able to add datasets if they have been converted to a Lat/Long coordinate system, typically WGS84. If the data is in British National Grid (SRID: 27700) then the bounds are not displayed at all in the Search window. The weird thing is that my basemap is in 27700 but still displays correctly and data in Lat/Long is displayed correctly over the top of it so I presumse it is doing some coordinate reprojection behind the scenes somewhere... Thanks, Peter.
