Hi there, My team have discovered an AccessViolation within ESRI.Runtime.dll. This seems to stem from adding a GraphicsOverlay to a Scene and setting the LabelsEnabled property to true. When closing the program an Access Violation is experienced. If this value is false, the application shutdown gracefully with no issue. We have recreated the issue in the attached test application. Please could you have a look into this for us? Many thanks, Phil Collier.

Hi, What is the fastest way of obtaining the elevation for a given lat/lon when using a MapView (not scene)? I would like my elevation data to be local. I am currently using SRTM data in tif format. In the SceneView you can use FileElevationSource to read these directly and then call GetElevationAsync for a given map point. I there any way to do this in the MapView? I tried using FileElevationSource, but it threw, stating it needed to be added to a scene surface. I'm using 10.2.7. If this is not viable now, will this functionality be in Quartz? Many thanks Phil Collier.

My team also experienced this problem. We solved it by turning off 3d acceleration on the VM. This works, but there is a performance hit. It would be nice for a proper solution. Phil.

Apurva, Many thanks for your suggestions. I have updated my example with a selection of models implementing your method. I have had limited success. I have zipped up my latest test application but it is too large to upload to the forum. Is there and email address I could send it to so you could take a look at it? Many thanks, Phil Collier.

Annti, Did you manage to have a look at the example I uploaded? I have had a little success with some models I downloaded, by ensuring the textures where in the same level as the 3ds file. Some models, however just do not work regardless.

Antti Kajanus Model Marker code for analysis by Antti. Antti, I managed to get one model working. However, there was no textures displayed. I have added the other two models that I couldn't get to work. Regards Phil

Annti, Thanks for your example. Unfortunately I am still having issues. I have applied the renderer to a graphics overlay and tried adding a graphic. Nothing displays. I have replaced the modelmarkersymbol for a straight marker symbol and that displays fine. Both 3ds and dae models have been tried. I have a feeling its something to do with the path. Have you tested the above example with success? Regards Phil.

Hi, I have been trying to use the ModelMarkerSymbol in the new 10.2.6. So far I have not been able to get anything to display. This is the link to the model I have been trying, http://tf3dm.com/3d-model/mq-9-predator-7547.html Does anyone have a good example of how to use this type of symbol with a 3ds model. There doesn't seem to be one included in the samples. Thanks, Phil.

Having just started playing around with 10.2.6, i'm having a few issues with raster data. I have been using the sample provided to add raster data to a map using localmapserver and the provided water-distribution-network.mpk with the sample data. The rasters a have to test display fine using this MPK. I have added extra functionality to this same to zoom to the extent of the last added raster (as a test), using the following, extent = (await layerRef.GetDetailsAsync(0)).Extent; await MyMapView.SetViewAsync(extent); The extent return always has NaN for each value and the SetViewAsync throws as expected. So I fired up ArcDesktop and created an Empty MPK with a blank group layer, and set the coordinate system to WGS84. Now when I use this MPK rasters are not displayed at all. However when I use the above code to zoom to the image, the view is set to where the image should have been (had it been displayed). I think this is spatial reference related but can't be sure. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be most grateful. I have previously implemented zoom to raster functionality using a gpk package of the GetRasterProperties tool. This is very long winded, I much prefer the SetViewAsync method.

Hi all, I'm using the MeasureAction in the code-behind so that I can configure the unit types with a dialog. I seem to be having a problem when I set the distance unit to decimal degrees. A NotSupportedException is thrown when I try to measure in this unit. Has anyone else experienced this or know a solution to get this working? Many thanks, Phil.

Using the Add Shapefiles and Raster data example I have added the functionality to my application to add 1 local raster file to a layer and display on the map. In particular these are geo-located NITF 2.1 and GeoTiff files. I have been trying to figure out how to zoom to the extent of the a raster image that has just been added to my map. However it appears that the initial extent in the ArcGISLocalDynamicMapServiceLayer that hosts the raster is not the extent of the image, and therefore does not work. My question is, is there a way of obtaining the extent of the raster image during the process outlined in the example? or is there another method of zooming to a raster image? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Phil Collier.

Hi Phil, your TPKs probably have a different projection/Spatial Reference. Whenever the first layer is loaded the Map's projection will be set. You have to explicitly change it after that. I'm pretty sure if you use TPKs with the same projection, it will work. for example, look at the "tiled" layers here. http://viewer.nationalmap.gov/example/services.html http://basemap.nationalmap.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/USGSTopo/MapServer has projection / WKID of Spatial Reference: 102100 (3857) http://gis1.usgs.gov/arcgis/rest/services/gap/PADUS_Owner/MapServer has projection Spatial Reference: 102113 and will not be able to be viewed on the same map at the same time. Thanks for your advice, this makes alot of sense. I did a bit of digging and it seems that the local tiled tpks cannot be reprojected once they are added to the map. Is there anyway of removing the maps projection after all the layers have been cleared? Many Thanks Phil Collier.

Hi, Can you post your code? - most folk on the forum here will have the sample data so we should be able to able to help you out pretty easily I hope. Cheers Mike Mike, Thanks for your reply. For the xaml just use <esri:Map x:Name="DefaultMap" WrapAround="True", MinimumResolution="2445.98490512499"> <esri:ArcGISLocalTiledLayer ID="BaseMap", Path="C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\WPF10.1.1\SDK\Samples\Data\TPKs\Topographic.tpk" /> <esri:Map/> Then just add a button to the map and set the click to the following method, private void BrowsMap(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Microsoft.Win32.OpenFileDialog openDialog = new OpenFileDialog(); openFileDialog.DefaultExt = "*.tpk"; openFileDialog.Filter = "Map Documents (.tpk)|*.tpk"; Nullable<bool> result = openDialog.ShowDialog(); if(result == true) { ArcGISLocalTileLayer newTiledLayer = new ArcGISLocalTiledLayer(); newTiledLayer.Path = openDialog.FileName; DefaultMap.Layers.Clear(); DefaultMap.Layers.Add(newTiledLayer); } } This is pretty much the same xaml/code as the example from the samples application titled "Add Layer Dynamically". This example doesn't seem to work either. After the first tpk is loaded it doesn't seem to let you load a different one. Many thanks for any assistance you can provide. Phil.
