William - Does your annotation have leader lines? There is a known bug (starting with 10.2.1) with performance problems happening with annotation that have leader lines. We are having the same issue, but two of our four users have severe performance problems with leader-line anno (10-15 seconds to select one annotation), while the other two only have minor performance problems (1-2 seconds to select one annotation). Re: Performance degradation with 10.2.1, specifically labels

Can the Business Analyst desktop 2015 base map data be used in ArcGIS Pro? We are exploring the option of using ArcGIS Pro as our map production tool instead of ArcMap.

In BA desktop 10.2, we have four custom reports based on the 2012/2017 BA demographic data, and would like to update them using the 2013/18 data. I am hoping there is an easy way to globally change the data source for all variable references in the report from the 2012 data to the 2013 data. I can't seem to find it. We have installed the 2013/2018 data and copied our custom report templates into the "My Output Data\Report Templates_USA_ESRI_2013" folder. In the Fusion Report Designer, in editing mode, I used the "Add Standard BA Data" link to add the 2013 demographic data variables - they show up in a group named "demographics_2", while the existing "demographics" group is the 2012 variables (see attached screenshot). Is there a way globally edit the data source reference for all variables in a report from "demographics" to "demographics_2", so they refer to the 2013 data instead of the 2012 data? Or do I need to manually change the variable reference one at a time for all variables included in the report? ...in all four of our custom reports? Thanks

I've also been frustrated with the ineffective geocoding results of the "Find Point by Address" wizard. Instead, I just use the Geocoding toolbar, using the "World Geocode Service (ArcGIS Online)" locator. Then I "add a point" to mark the location, then use the BA "click on the map" tool to add the "store" point. In BA Desktop 10.1, I've found that the "World Geocode Service (ArcGIS Online)" locator has much better success finding intersection locations than the standard USA Geocoding Service locator. The "USA Geocoding Service" locator seems to be expecting Address, City, State, Zip, while the "World Geocode Service (ArcGIS Online)" locator is a "single line input" and can handle a variety of address strings. You can set "World Geocode Service (ArcGIS Online)" locator as the default in the Business Analyst preferences, in the Dataset tab.

I'm creating a custom report with BA Desktop 10.1 and 2012/17 data. In the Fusion Report Designer, is it possible to remove or modify the shading in the default cell styles? I don't see any options for editing/managing cell styles, and didn't find enough detail in the help documentation on the "edit" module of the fusion report designer. I am trying to re-create a custom report that is inserted in some marketing materials, and need to match a specific layout style. I've included a screenshot. Thanks.

In my experience, there is substantial demand by users who want the ACS data available locally in BA Desktop My organization and customers also rely very heavily on educational attainment data, and not having it available in BA desktop is a very significant problem with our upgrade to version 10.1 and the 2012/17 data. Educational attainment is a critical component of several custom reports and map layers that my customers have come to rely on. I am still searching for a "workaround" solution to this issue that is reasonably efficient - I would love to hear what other BA desktop users are doing in regards to edu. attainment data. I know of three other BA desktop users that feel the same way. I am glad to see that several variables were restored to the 2012 data that were not available in the 2011 data. Hopefully educational attainment will be added in the future.

Based on the "2010 Methodology Statement: Esri Data??Business Locations and Business Summary" whitepaper, I believe the "Employees" variable (G01_TotEmp) in the 2010/2015 ESRI Demographic data is an aggregation or "roll-up" by geographies of the "Employee Count" (NUMBER_EMP) field in the InfoGroup business points. Likewise with the Number of Businesses variables.
"Esri uses the geographic codes to report business data for summary areas such as states, counties, census tracts, and block groups. Aggregations by ZIP Codes are created from the business database. ZIP Codes from Infogroup may differ from the residential ZIP Codes in the Esri® demographic databases because Infogroup includes business-only ZIP Codes that are unique to a particular establishment and include no residential area. The coordinates of each business are used to assign it to a user-defined polygon"
I'm very disappointed that these Business Summary variables were excluded from ESRI's 2011/2016 demographic data. Supposedly they will be included in the 2012/2017 data. Paul Vastag

Did you find a solution for multiuser editing for a small organization without ArcGIS Server? We are in the same situation and wondering if ArcGIS Online can support our needs.
