Hi - I attempted to run an object classification on 3" resolution, 4 band imagery of about a mile square area of a river channel. Looking to identify Arundo (an invasive bamboo species), Water, Bare Earth, Palm Trees, Other Trees, Grass/Vines (low vegetation). I got some very un-expected results, the output was a polygon layer arranged in a grid pattern of equal size rectangles (see attached screen shot of output). My process was: 0) Image Prep Mosaiced geo tifs together using 'Mosaic to New Raster' 'Extract by Mask' to the study area 1) Label Objects for Deep Learning Tool (approx 300 samples of each class) 2) Export Training Data for Deep Learning Tool Meta Data type - Labeled Tiles 3) Train Deep Learning Model Tool - use all defaults for parameters Max epochs - 20 (default) Model Type - Feature Classifier (default) 4) Classify Objects using deep learning Tool Any ideas why I'm getting this grid pattern output? I expected detailed boundaries with curves around different classes. It also took several days to run the classification (way too long I think) -- it classified areas that I had masked off with Extract By Mask, which maybe added confusion. I'm primarily interested in the boundaries of the Arundo. I tried an Object extraction, but that didn't provide boundaries of the Arundo either, just squares. Also attached is my model metrics, which I thought looked pretty good Any thoughts would be much appreciated Thanks Pete

Hi - I have about 30 file geodatabases each with three layers. Each of the geodatabases will use the same meta data. I'm using the basic ESRI meta data format -- Summary, Description, Credits. I have the meta data I want for each of the layers in a word doc. Is there anyway to import the meta data into the feature classes without copying and pasting each separately within edit meta data tool in catalog? Thanks Pete

Hi - Tech Support solved the problem. The issue was that the user I was logged in as was a field worker with 'Viewer' Role. When I changed the role to 'Data Editor' the issue was solved

Hi - I've got a Field Map with a form tied to a feature service layer. I want to make the feature service layer editable for all users. I've enabled public data collection and shared the feature service layer with everyone. I've also shared the Field Map with everyone. Is there some other setting I need to configure to enable users other than the owner to make edits to the feature service layer? As it stands now only the owner of the feature service layer can make edits Thanks Pete

Hi - is there a way to save edits in Model Builder? I am deleting features from a feature class and then after the delete is complete on the next step I try to do an append to the layer and am getting an error that the feature class is read-only. Any other ideas what might be going wrong? I've verified that the feature class and file geodatabase the feature class is in is not being accessed by any other process. Thanks Pete

I'm having a very similar issue. I delete some features from a feature class in model builder, then try to do an append in the next step, and I'm getting an error saying the feature class is read-only

If I use the copy features command instead of export features command it works ok. The only downside is that the attribute table has the full join field names instead of field aliases

Hi - I am joining a feature class with a table in model builder and then trying to export the result to a new feature class. When I hard-code the layer and table names it works fine. I get complete geometry as well as all of the fields in the attribute table as expected. When I try to use a variable as part of the layer and table names, however, the resulting feature class has the correct geometry, but contains only Shape, Shape_Length, and Shape_Area fields. Any idea what could be going wrong? My variable is named AgencyName and is also set as a parameter. I refer to the variable value in my join tool like this: %AgencyName%. Both the input table and the join table are in a fileGDB and are referred to using the complete path (P:\projects\xxx\OrangeParse.gdb\MSA_%AgencyName%). I've confirmed the value of my variable name is correct. Any ideas what could be happening here? Attached is a screen shot of the model Thanks Pete

Thanks for all the responses. I'm glad to know transparency can be set on each individual color. The Layer Blend is also really cool -- you can achieve the same sort of thing in just one click Pete

I often want the fill of a polygon layer to have transparency so features below the layer can be viewed, but would like the border of the polygon layer to be darker or opaque so you can clearly see the outlines of the layer. As a work-around I'll make two copies of the layer, one with transparency for the fill, and one opaque with just the border, but it would be nice to not have to go to that extra step. The legend would also be more accurate to the map if there was only one layer. Thanks Pete
