Johnathan, Are Photos in Repeats a supported/recommended function now? In the past I have seen several articles/posts from Ismael Chivite indicating that photos in repeats isn't best practice as it makes them very hard to access. https://community.esri.com/thread/165564

Jim, If I remember correctly, no we didn't exactly figure it out. The work around was to connect to the service from desktop (ArcMap or Pro) and export the data in that way. I haven't had this issue re-occur so I am not exactly sure what caused it and/or how to prevent it in the future. Hope this helps.

James, I go to this page: And I click the "updateDefinition" button, and I get: In the directions here: https://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/files/2014/10/How-to-Update-Hosted-Feature-Service-Schemas1.pdf It appears I should have something like this: I guess I am not understanding how to get the JSON for my feature layer in the first place in order to be able to modify the appropriate coded value domain.

James Tedrick I am also having this problem but with a hosted feature layer in Portal for ArcGIS and I tried to follow the instructions in the link you provided but I can't get the feature layer to give me the JSON. There is no option to "Update Layer Definition" instead there is an option to updateDefinition. When I click the "updateDefinition" all I get is: { "success": true }
Any suggestions?

Has anyone else experienced this issue on Portal For ArcGIS with Survey123 Feature Classes? I had this error once before but I tried it again the following day and it just worked, that solution didn't work this time. I go to the feature class Export Data>To FGDB Enter tags, summary, and set the output location The Export button goes gray and says "Exporting..." Then one of two things happens: 1. I get "Error: Failed" (see attached pic) 2. The "Export" button goes back to blue, it still says exporting, and the cursor spins forever. This particular survey was created by a user then ownership was transferred to the headless admin. I have tried exporting as both another admin user and as the headless admin user with exactly the same results. This survey has a related table and picture attachments so an alternative format export (like csv) isn't an option. Any suggestions or ideas on why this might be happening? JTedrick-esristaff

I am a SUPER newbie to the python side of the ArcGIS stuff so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with how to modify the script here: How To: Batch export attachments from a feature class In order to match the attachment based on its rel_globalid back to the globalid in the feature class and return an associated attribute ie 'site name' I found this great article over here: arcpy - Export Attachments for Arcgis Collector - Naming - Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange Which seems to indicate it is possible to pull a field value from another table based on the key field between the two in python. So the feature class would have the following fields: globalid site_name (survey info, etc.) The attachment table has: rel_globalid att_name data And in the end I would like the script to ask for Parameters Attachment Table Output Location Feature Class (Surveys) And the output files to be: (site_name)_(att_name)_ATT1 (site_name)_(att_name)_ATT2 (site_name)_(att_name)_ATT3 etc. I feel like I am pretty close but I am totally new to python so I am hoping someone here can help me tune up the scripting!

Mike, Thanks for info on how you work with the survey data! We do have a server (required for Portal) so I will have to look into the PDKtk program. As of right now our teams only want blank forms (not the resulting survey responses) in PDF format. But this information will be great if a team requests print outs of their responses.

Anyone have a good/efficient way to print the forms from Survey123 (with a Portal for ArcGIS implemenation)? We are just starting to use Survey123 and every single group we have shown it to wants to have a PDF of the survey questions so that if they want to they can print it. We found a pretty inelegant work around using the .webform file that Survey123 Connect creates when you publish your survey, notepad, and some powershell but it certainly isn't what I would call pretty or all that efficient. I am wondering if anyone else has any experience with this?

As soon as I posted this Connect seemed to start working again, was there an outage with the survey123 site, or is this something that may continue to happen?

I am receiving the following error from Survey123 Connect when I try to refresh a survey after updating the supporting XLS form. Service Error Error: 499 Error transferring https://survey123.arcgis.com/api/xls2xform - server replied: Proxy Error Status Code: 502 Survey123 Connect Version: 2.0.35 Portal for Arcgis There is an option for "Report this error to Esri" except when I click it all it does is open a new browser window, it doesn't take me to a website or form for reporting the error. I have an active project that needs this survey ready today so any help is greatly appreciated! James Tedrick Ismael Chivite

James, Exporting the FGDB worked and the rowid_ is now populated correctly. Does this have to do with desired functionality, something I am doing wrong or is this a bug that might eventually be fixed? Is there guidance on the most efficient workflow to convert the feature class and related tables to .csv. The data users for this project do not have access to GIS software and want to do their analysis in programs such as excel. I know we can use the table to excel function but we have run into some of the limitations of this tool since it exports to .xls as opposed to .xlsx and in certain cases I do believe we would run into the limitation of the .xlsx file format and in addition .xls and .xlsx files do not always work well with programs other than excel. I know that once it was in .xls I could convert it to .csv but if there is a more efficient workflow, I would love to know about it. JTedrick-esristaff

James, thanks for the quick reply. I tried Portal's built in export, by exporting both tables together via the portal "Export Data" button on the feature layer page (which outputs a zip file with two csv files, one for each table) and exporting each table individually by using the "Export To" option on the Layer and Table. Both of these options result in the blank rowid_ field. I will test the "Export Data" > Export to FGDB and let you know the result.

I am creating a survey with Survey123 for Portal, I turned off the setting for "Use global id parent keys in repeat relationships" which I was informed was a limitation within Portal. This resolved the issue I was having will submitting my survey. Now I would like to export my data to .csv for further analysis outside of Portal, however when I download the data I get the following fields: Parent table: objectid globalid rowid_ (This value is blank) username created_date created_user last_edited_date last_edited_user x y Child (repeat table): objectid globalid repeatquestion1 repeatquestion2, etc. parentrowid created_date created_user last_edited_date last_edited_user It seems to me that the rowid_ field and the parentrowid field should be the key field, however the rowid_ field in the parent table is blank. The parentrowid field in the child table is populated, but I am not sure how to relate that back to the Parent table. I have been submitting test surveys to the Portal using the Survey123 for ArcGis Windows app. My proposed work around is to use a combination of the created user and date to create a unique key to match across tables, but it seems to me that the program would need to have some field for this already in order to be able to know that there are related records to display. Am I doing something wrong, did anyone else have this problem, or does anyone have any advice? All help is greatly appreciated. JTedrick-esristaff
