You can't insert a scale bar or legend, ArcScene has no layout capabilities. See http://mappingcenter.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=ask.answers&q=766 If you want this feature, vote for it at http://ideas.arcgis.com/ideaView?id=087300000008DDOAA2 Exporting as a graphic (such as JPEG) usually works fine.

You also need to add the tables the relationships are based on to your map before publishing, and make sure ArcGIS Server has permission to read them.

Thanks Eric, I couldn't get nibble to work with ArcGIS 10 sp2 (gave me output based only on values in the mask - even if I switched the input and mask around!!). This was a good workaround.

Question asked by a user: "What kind of online resources are there available to (1) get a high level understanding of what ArcGIS can do and (2) help me get practical experience using the software". My suggestions: ArcGIS 10 1. 2010 User Conference and demos and workshops. ArcGIS as a complete system, UC Technical Workshops ?? over 40 videos in 11 categories of Esri subject matter experts delivering 90 minute user conference sessions. 2. 2010 Esri Education User Conference Proceedings - 17 computer labs (exercises plus data) covering What??s new in ArcGIS Desktop, Animation/Time, Cartographic Design, ArcGIS Server, Editing, Python, Pattern Analysis, Regression, Geoprocessing, Raster, Spatial Statistics and others. 3. Yes. Once you have found the map service you are interested in via a search, click 'Details' and scroll down to the section 'Map Contents'. You will see the REST Services directory of the map service. Click this and follow the instructions below to determine if WMS, KML or JSON requests are supported for the map service. Example: the map service at http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=9b27a7922545434384302678c56374ca defines a REST Services directory at http://events.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Gulf_Coast_Offshore_Oil_Spill_Forecast/MapServer Once you click on the URL to view the REST Services directory: FOR KML: At the top, next to 'View In:' there is a link 'Google Earth' - this actually requests a KMZ file from the map service For more information about automatically using REST to retrieve KML from a map service, see http://resources.esri.com/help//9.3/arcgisserver/apis/rest/index.html?kmlinfo.html FOR WMS: At the bottom, next to 'Supported Interfaces:' there is a link 'WMS' - this actually returns the WMS get capabilities URL FOR JSON: You need to specify the layer. In this example, click one of the 'Offshore Trajectory' or 'Uncertainty' sublayers: At the bottom, next to 'Supported Operations:' there is a link 'Query Layer' - this actually displays an HTML page that can be used to request a JSON version of the geometries in the map service. Enter '1=1' in the 'Where' box and change the 'Format:' drop down to 'JSON'. Click 'Find' for the JSON response. For more information about automatically using REST to retrieve different output formats from a map service, see http://resources.esri.com/help//9.3/arcgisserver/apis/rest/index.html?formattypes.html Hope that helps. For additional options when using the REST Services directory for a map service, see http://resources.esri.com/help//9.3/arcgisserver/apis/rest/index.html?servicesdirectory.html
