Please implement the ability to snap to a feature edge without requiring a vertex in the Field Maps app. I would recommend this for Collector, but it seems like all development is being moved to this catch-all app. I need the ability to snap a new line or point feature to an existing line feature. I'm sure many utility customers would appreciate this ability.

I flew a project and located GCPs with only a known horizontal accuracy. I don't know the elevation or vertical accuracy. Am I hosed? I cannot run Import Control (via feature class) until I populate Elevation with a field (I threw in OBJECTID and the OK button became active). Any ideas?

Thanks for responding to the group. My experience with this issue is not covered under your analysis. I am running Windows 7 (specifically Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1 Build 7601: Service Pack 1). I rolled back the Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB45063292) and that resolved the issue on my end. If you are interested in verifying my configuration and problem I would be happy to do a screen-sharing session. Thanks, Justin

I didn't have the one they referenced either. I uninstalled KB4503292 from my Windows 7 machine and that did the trick - it was the most recent Security Update for Microsoft Windows.

They sent me this as the problem update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4503276/june-11-2019-kb4503276-os-build-monthly-rollup That said, I am running Windows 7, so that wouldn't have caused the problem for me.

On my call with ESRI they suggested that it is not carrying over ArcMap symbology due to a recent Windows Update. Their work-arounds were A) roll back the Windows Update B) Try publishing from a machine running ArcMap 10.7 (I am on 10.6) or C) Use ArcGIS Online symbology.

Same deal with me - map has been fine for months and most (maybe all?) point features do not display any longer (though I can still search for them) in the app but work fine in AGOL. Was there an app update recently?

I have both web adaptors (for server and portal) in the DMZ while the server and portal themselves are in the internal network. That should still allow for internet access to both the portal and server, right? Edit: I am still setting this up and running into some bumps along the way, so I don't have services being accessed right now. Thanks for you help.

Sorry to semi-hijack the thread, but I have a similar problem. I was under the impression that the Web Adaptor was a reverse proxy for this purpose and could handle this scenario? Are you saying a third party reverse proxy is required?

Hi Rex, Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately through my workflow (using ArcPad), editor tracking will not work (though I do have it enabled for ArcGIS Desktop users). For the same reason Attribute Assistant will not work either. I really am forced to use coded value domains unfortunately. Justin

I am wondering how others handle having domains for staff members. Say you have an organization which does inspections and have a maintenance staff of 50 people. With moderate turnover, you would end up with a domain (and drop-down list of staff names) in the triple digits before long. A good number of these names will be associated with old inspection records, but will not be used for new records. The names could be removed from the domain list and remain in the data itself, but that would lead to problems upon data validation. How do you handle this situation with your organization? Am I forced to deal with a coded value domain with far too many entries compared to what can be used? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ingrid, Thanks for your reply. Sorry I wasn't clear enough - I was meaning that the codes themselves were changing. Would that matter? Would I just need to change the newly checked in data to match the new codes after check-in (and all of the unaltered data would remain with the new codes)? Justin

I have a question on data integrity, specifically between the interaction between AXF check-ins and changed domains & associated values within a database. Specifically, say I have a domain for a field for three values, Alb : Albatross, Bir : Birdie, and Cho : Choke. I have let's say a feature class with a field that uses these values and has a bunch of records populated with Alb, Bir, or Cho. Next, I check out an AXF for editing in ArcPad. I then decide to change the Domains to A : Albatross, B : Birdie, and C : Choke. I also change the existing values of Alb, Bir, and Cho to A, B, and C respectively. My question is, when I then check in the AXF (with let's say new features), what happens? It would attempt to check in values of Alb, Bir, and Cho which would not correspond to the new domain values. Would it also attempt to update the existing database of A, B, or C back to their old values as well? Thanks in advance
