Dear Robert, Thank you for your response, but I am still unsuccessful when I try to save my edits. The icon I am trying to make bigger is circled in red in the screenshot below. When I click on the "jimu.theme.css" hyperlinked folder (under the Styles panel), I am directed to the page in the second screenshot, where I edit the numbers for the image's height & width. Although the image size adjusts onscreen when I do this, when I press "control + enter" to save changes, then come back to the page, my changes are unsaved.

Hi all, Seemingly simple task, but I'm unfamiliar with HTML/CSS, so I need some help here. I've built an app with the query custom widget, & uploaded a .png to symbolize its function. However, when I launch the app, the icon is incredibly small. I know if I right-click on the icon, then click "Inspect", it will bring up the HTML & CSS code, but what do I edit from there to increase the size of the .png? I thought I had did it at one point, but it did not save the changes. I attached a screenshot for further reference. Thanks

Is there anyway to configure layers in operations dashboard to show the multiple counties that residents for each of our states 83 counties commute to? I.e., I will click on 1 county in my list of 83 counties, and the map will highlight and zoom to the 3 counties where residents of the county I clicked on commute to for work every day.

Suzanne Boden I'm a geographer in search of an ESRI technical certification in application development that progressing along a track designed to start from the bottom-up for people with zero programming experience. Specifically, I am looking to develop customized apps using the REST API & Javascript. Our organization has an account, and I am able to access classes that are free or require maintenance, and I know there are Dev Labs ~10 min long that teach snippet tutorials about specific functions/tools, but I'm looking for a more comprehensive training that integrates all the terminology to allow me to understand the big picture of web development & explains the basics for a novice like me. Suggestions? Thanks in advance

Hi, My goal is to create an interactive map showing county-level commuting patterns. I envision a list of the counties along the left of the dashboard, with 2 maps to the right. When the user clicks on a single county from the list, one map highlights the corresponding counties where residents living in the county that was clicked are commuting TO for work, and the other map simultaneously highlights the corresponding counties where workers in the county that was clicked are commuting FROM. How to do this? It's a feature-to-feature relationship, so it seems complicated because its not a single one-to-one relationship. In other words, its a many-to-one relationship where I would like to display many counties corresponding to a single county. It doesn't seem like ArcGIS Online is designed to accomodate these scenarios, but I'm new, too. Can you do this in the category selector?

Hi All I'm trying to configure a bar chart showing the percent share of total employment & total wages for 16 industries per county for our state, which has 83 counties total. Ideally, the chart would look like the image below. Both attempts at capturing & displaying these data horizontally (#1 below) and vertically (#2 below) have failed: 1) For each county record (row), I added 32 fields (i.e., columns) with corresponding values (1 wage value for each of the 16 industries, 1 employment value for each of the 16 industries). 2) I added 3 fields (i.e., columns), one to specify the 16 industry types, then 2 more fields to specify the employment & wage percent share for each of those industries. This resulted in 16 rows for each county, since there were 16 industries with corresponding values. How do I create this from the serial chart tool? I would like to link it so it updates for each county the user selects from the list.

Hi all, New to ArcGIS online, (zero experience programming), and I'd like to configure the pop ups for each county in my state to show a pie chart breakdown of top employers for each county. Can you import an image of the pie chart created in excel, then attach it to the popup?# What's the easiest way to do this?

No, I've already generated the random points in Arc, then converted to kml and opened the same points in Google Earth (my reference data source). Because the spatial resolution of GE is difference than my National Land Cover Dataset, I need to create a 3x3 grid to lay over each point in GE that measures the same resolution of my NLCD. This will allow me to more easily make my observations when labelling the land cover of the reference data because I can approximately measure the percentage of the dominant land cover in each 3x3 window, then match it up with the rule in the classification scheme (found here: http://www.mrlc.gov/nlcd11_leg.php) that corresponds to that land cover. I discovered the "Make Grids and Graticules" tool here: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/tools/cartography-toolbox/make-grids-and-graticules-layer.htm Maybe that is what I need to do?

I'm using a cluster sampling scheme for an accuracy assessment of the 2011 National Land Cover Dataset (spatial res of 30m). I'm using Google Earth Pro for my reference data spatial res of 15m). So far I've generated random sample points for each land cover category (the number of sample points generated for each land cover varied, depending on its area relative to the total area, but each category had at least 50 points). I've pulled the points into Google Earth Pro, and now I want to create a 3x3 window surrounding each sample point that allows me to more easily estimate the approximate measurements needed to determine the primary and alternate reference labels (per the rules and specific measurements set forth by the NLCD classification scheme, found here: http://www.mrlc.gov/nlcd11_leg.php) Whats the easiest way to create the 3x3 window? Thanks

I am assessing the accuracy for the 2011 National Land Cover Map (NLCD). Each pixel for the NLCD measures 30m x 30m. For my reference data, I'm using two sources: 1) Google Earth (~15-20 m resolution) 2) NAIP hi res imagery (1-2 m resolution) For each randomly sampled point I've created, I want to create a grid that lays over that point in my hi res image and simulates the area of the pixel it represents on the NLCD (30m x 30 m). This will allow me to label the land cover based on the rules for the NLCD classification scheme (if more than 30% of the 30 m x 30 m pixel is covered in leaf foliage, it is forest). Does anyone know of a tool for creating a grid like this in Arc that works on raster? The create fishnet tool is for vector. Or, if anyone has tips on an easier way of doing this, the feedback is appreciated! Thanks in advance

Hi all Hoping for some feedback here. I have 14 separate vector layers of land cover categories, and I want to create random sampling points for each of them. Because I'm using a stratified random sampling scheme and the relative area for each land cover category differs, I want to specify how many random points to be created for each area relative to the total area. When Arc generates these points, almost all of them are along the edges and borders, something I want to avoid because of misregistration errors. Does anyone know how to specify the points be generated at least a minimum distance from the borders of a vector? Thanks in advance, I've only used ENVI software in our student lab for accuracy assessments, and I'm wondering if it may be easier to purchase ENVI myself in order to do this.

Hi all, I'm stuck and I hope someone can help. I've attached a pic of my study area. There is an outlying polygon labelled as part of Jefferson parish I need to delete. How do I do this? Also, how do I make the bottom part of the Mississippi River follow the same boundary outline as Plaquemines parish? I used the smoothing function under the advanced editing toolbar to make the outline for the parishes more aesthetically appealing, but now the line for the MS River doesn't match up. Thanks in advance! Ashley

Hi all Do you guys know if I am allowed to contract out for hire on this site to perform the specific python task I described above? Of course, I would acknowledge their work in my thesis. I just have no programming experience and I need to focus on other areas. Thanks
