Is there a way to change the size of the military symbols. I am using the DictionaryRenderer and associated code as laid out on the guide (Display military symbols with a dictionary renderer) I would like to shrink them just a bit. I have searched through a number of APIs but have not found anything that might allow me to change the Width and Height of the associated symbol. I am using the .NET API 100.1.

That did it. Thank you so much. I saw the OpenASynnc On the DictionarySymbolStyle, but ended up following the web site instead. I have a couple more questions, but I will create a new question within the Forum. Thanks again for your help.

I have the same issue after downgrading, which I expected after your last message. I will create a small standalone app and see if I can get it to work. I will let you know what I find.

Interesting. I am at a loss. Trying to think of what I may have incorrect that would cause a simple assignment to result in a null. I would understand of the first one failed

Your file was different, but I got the same result. I am on 100.1 of the API. I may try downgrading to 100.0 to see if I get the same results.

I was following your example located here (Display military symbols with a dictionary renderer) in order to display Military Symbols based on the DictionaryRenderer. I get an error when attempting to Open the Symbol Style as follows: SymbolStyle ss = await SymbolStyle.OpenAsync(@"D:\Source\MapEngine\ESRI\mil2525d.stylx"); DictionarySymbolStyle dss = ss as DictionarySymbolStyle; The first line executes properly, but the second line fails ( assigns a null value) when assigning the SymbolStyle to the DictionaryStyle. I downloaded the styles from here: (http://solutions.arcgis.com/defense/help/military-symbology-styles/) Am I missing something here? I am on 100.1 of the .NET SDK.

Thanks. I will have to restructure some things, and do some on the fly image generation using masks and such, but I think it is doable. Thanks!

I am probably late to the party on this. I am porting/refactoring an application that was on a much earlier version of the API. We created symbols for all of our data by overriding the control template for the appropriate symbol (SimpleMarkerSymbol mostly). Since this approach appears to be deprecated, what is the recommended way(s) forward to create custom symbols. I really did like the old way as I could change the symbol based on what object it was bound to an have it change based on its properties. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Wow, I had something almost identical, and I am still unsure as to why the results I was getting were incorrect, but what you have works for me. Thanks so much.

I have a pretty basic question, but for whatever reason, I have not been able to find the answer. I am porting some code based on a pretty old version of the ESRI .NET API. We would convert coordinates with methods like ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Bing.Transform.WebMercatorToGeographic. I am simply trying to get the latitude and longitude of the mouse location. Any suggestions on where to start?

Sorry for the delay. I tried switching to x64 from AnyCPU and the behavior was the same. If I add a reference to the ESRI assemblies to the main application, it works fine. But being a prism application, I should not have to. That is a workaround.

I am using the ArcGis functionality in a class library that Is implemented as a prism module. When I build the module, the client32 and/or client64 folders do not get copied into the build output as they do if I create a WPF application and reference the ESRI libraries. With these dependencies missing, the application crashes. What are your recommendations for bringing these folders into the build output for class libraries? I can do some post install step and copy them in if needed.
