In the geoprocessing tool "Add images to Oriented Imagery Catalog" there is no entry for Drone Video under the "Imagery Type" Dropdown list. Anybody have a suggestion on how I add a folder with drone videos?

Have you tried to set quickstart="1" in ArcPadPrefs.apx as in the following example and removed all applets that you do not want to load from the applets catalog? <ArcPad> <PREFERENCES> <STARTUP quickstart="1"/> Rolf

You can do this by creating a general form that is used to populate a dbase file (or internal stack) and then when you have finished creating your geometry you populate the attributes of your layer with the data you saved in the first step. Requires a little bit of coding but works fine. Rolf

Do you experience the same while using the pc in a car and driving? If so, there may be a setting (for the GPS) that in order to avoid the GPS jumping all over the place, the coordinates will not update unless there is a significant movement. There is a thread about it (in the old forum) here: http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=34&f=2136&t=216558&mc=3#msgid655533 Rolf

You can compile the project and encrypt the project files. You find the information under Compiling a project in the Studio Help. Rolf

I have not found a size limitation to the vbscript files. The largest I have used are over 10 000 lines of code. I have also found that in the pc environment, the following link is useful: http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=34&f=1180&t=87072 This is quite handy if you have developed a library of routines that you would like to use in several projects (for ex. routines for reading and writing xml files) The short version is this: ' "Include" routine for Windows VBScript Sub Include(sIncludeFileName) On Error Resume Next Dim pFSO, fInclude, sScript Set pFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") If pFSO.FileExists(sIncludeFileName) Then Set fInclude = pFSO.OpenTextFile(sIncludeFileName) sScript = fInclude.ReadAll fInclude.Close ExecuteGlobal sScript End If Set pFSO = Nothing Set fInclude = Nothing End Sub

When ArcPad 10 first came out I found that if you have a custom ArcPad.apx which is not in the "Default" folder (in my case that is C:\Users\Public\Documents\ArcPad\System), you need to copy your icon/bitmap files to the standard ArcPad Systems folder. In this case <PATHS public="C:\Users\Public\Documents\ArcPad" data="C:\users\rolf" applets="" styles="" extensions="" templates=""/> <CONFIG file="C:\MyCustomArcpad\ArcPad.apx"/> The custom tools will all have question marks unless I copy all the icon/bitmap files to C:\Users\Public\Documents\ArcPad\System In this case <PATHS public="C:\MyCustomArcpad" data="C:\users\rolf" applets="" styles="" extensions="" templates=""/> <CONFIG file="C:\MyCustomArcpad\System\ArcPad.apx"/> Everything works fine since all my icon/bitmaps also reside in "C:\MyCustomArcpad\System Rolf

Most GPS's use WGS84 as their datum and this is also the default setting in ArcPad, that is, ArcPad expects that the incoming lat lon coordinates are in WGS84. When you say you set the Magellan to TM65, do you mean that you ask the Magellan to show coordinates on the screen in TM65 datum or is the output from the GPS to ArcPad set to TM65? If the latter, you also need to change the GPS datum for ArcPad to TM65. I have not worked with TM65 or Magellan before so this may or may not be the case in your instance. Rolf

This is actually an issue that ESRI should take care of. In the case above, 30 summer students then need to be told the ArcPad registration code in order to do their summer jobs. I know that it is not legal but what prevents these students (apart from their conscience) to download ArcPad themselves and use the same code to "Unlock" the trial version when the summer job is over? I made some changes to your .apl file and have attached the changed file. I have modified your radiobutton tags (1, 2 and 3) and added a script tag at the end of the file. I am also enclosing a script file that must reside in the same directory as your .apl file. Clicking radiobutton 2 will disable all controls on page 2 and 3 while clicking either of the two other radiobuttons will enable them Rolf

I have seen this behaviour in earlier versions of ArcPad and in those cases the reason was a corrupt polygon shapefile (for example a non-closed polygon or a figure 8 polygon). The point layer that did not show up in the display would show when set to editable, but only then. Rolf
