We are in the process of rolling this out to our organization, and we have been using the firstname.lastname_<org_ID> already with the AGOL Enterprise Login. If we configure our NameID to be firstname.lastname_<org_ID>, will users be able to login to their already established accounts, there by making the roll out 100x easier? Also related, would creating a pre-established account for users with the same NameID that would be coming from AD allow users to get to the already pre-established account?

Yup, NP. Please mark my response answered if that is what you needed. I also have posted about that same issue here. Hopefully someone will be able to answer it eventually. -David

Here's a link to the documentation on this: KML—Help | ArcGIS AGOL caches KML's for up to 30 minutes. One way to get around that is to make another KML file and use the <NetworkLink> Tags in it (an example can be found here). Even though the KML is at http://dotp.blob.core.windows.net/511/511events.kml, we reference the kml where the actual data is at (http://dotp.blob.core.windows.net/511/511_events_data.kml) and specify a refresh interval in seconds (600 = 10 min). Google's KML Reference guide is a GREAT place to go and look for details on KML markup tags. Hope this helps answer your question. David Runneals GIS Intern, Iowa Department of Transportation

I have a KML (see attached) and when I link to it in ArcGIS Online, It likes to display a lot of drop down headers that you have to expand to get to the content. How do I go about cleaning up the stack so it would be plowref > Iowa DOT (second)? Any help as to how I can remove a few of the headings would be appreciated.

The problem is that anytime we want to make changes to the features on AGOL e.g. modify domains or add in polygons we have created, we have to reupload the whole service again and modify all the maps we have created on AGOL. I know there is an option to overwrite an existing service but this seems to crash out whenever we try and use it. I'm having the same issue Andy. I get to the window that warns me "If you overwrite this service you will lose access to the associated feature service data, including any changes that were made to the data after the service was initially published. Are you sure you want to continue?" and I hit "Yes" and the publishing "crashes" and it takes me back to my map like nothing happened. Also, is there a way to overwrite an existing feature service (created by an uploaded shapefile) while still keeping the same item ID? We have a super popular layer for our DOT Cameras that is being used on many maps that we can't break, but have a bunch of (100+) new cameras to add (that I already have in a shapefile).

I'm having some of the same issues, but mine stem from trying to publish a 10.1 map to be able to be read by 10.0 arcreader... My boss suggested to "Save a Copy" of the 10.x MXD in the needed version (you can go as far back as 8.3 when saving). Then open that MXD you just created. Try publishing it again. I don't know if this works yet, as our EMC hasn't gotten back to me yet, but ideally it should because you have a 10.0 mxd... I'll let you know if I figure anything out...
